Last night my new DROID 4 ran out of battery life and powered down. No biggie, I thought. I plugged it in to my computer via the USB charger and let it sit overnight. Well this morning, I see it light up and I went to look at it, and it was the startup splash screen. But I was to be disappointed, as after the splash screen ran, it shut back off and gave me the little green "Fully Charged" LED on the front of my DROID. So I pulled the plug out and attempted to start her up. But no luck. After "Soft Resets" and plugging back in, trying the wall charger and USB both, I cannot get the damn thing to turn back on at all. And since the battery is not removable on this device?
Just today my Droid X has decided to keep the LED notification light burning. When the screen is blank, it is blue, when i activate the screen it goes green. When I powered it down... the blue light stayed on. Even with the phone off.I pulled the battery and restarted, the light comes right back on.I even did a facotry reset, and the light came right back on.
Has anyone else had the problem of their phone turning back on after you turn it off? I turned it off before I walked into work this morning, saw it shut down and placed it on my desk. About 10mins later I see it booting back up and turning on. Last night I turned it off before I went to bed, woke up this morning and the phone was on.
Since installing ICS 4.0.4 I seem to no longer have the option to switch my data to CDMA only which is a problem because when I'm at work I get just enough of a 4G signal to keep my RAZR bouncing back and fourth between 3G and 4G and killing my battery in the process.
My phone got the update a few days ago. The battery died that night and when I went to charge it it wouldn't turn back on. I left it on the charger to see if that would help. Now it rarely turns on and if it does it will spontaneously freeze and shut down. Sometimes it will turn on and freeze on the M screen. I haven't downloaded any new apps and have taken the battery out numerous times. I just got the phone a few weeks ago from my insurance. It's running on 2.2.3.
This isn't a problem with the Droid 2, but with this forum. I keep getting emailed responses to a discussion I replied to, even though I've turned off "Automatically receive notifications for all discussions I reply to:" in my email preferences. I've private messaged two forum mods for help but they haven't responded, so I'll have to post this publicly. I'm getting about a dozen of these unwanted emails daily, and have run out of options for turning them off.
Last night as I was driving home my phone cut itself off. The battery was very low and as a safety feature I assume, it cut itself off. When I got home I put the phone on my tv stand and put it on charge through a wall charger and let it charge overnight.I got up this morning and noticed my DVR was turned on. I picked up the remote and pressed the power button to cut it off. I instantly noticed my phone have to boot logo and then go off. I went over to unhook it from the charger. Now the phone wont boot.I have a Droid 4. You can't remove the battery. I have tried everything that I know to try to get it to boot or even turn on. I have tired 2 different types of wall chargers, my wife's car charger, a usb cable, and nothing makes a difference. I have also tried to hold the volume down and the power button at the same time. I don't know if my battery is shot but maybe it had something to do with my DVR remote. I upgraded to the Dish Network Hopper Service. I normally charge my phone at the same place every night.
Im going on a cruise in a few weeks and I am bringing my phone to use for camera, video and Mp3 player. But I dont want anyone to call me or text me or for the phone to send me notification cause I can be charged outrageous fees, SO is this possible is there a way to do this?
I wanted to see my battery life with Wi-Fi off all day. I understand that 4g normall takes more power but I thought that it might still be worth it if it didn't work all the time. Anyways I sit it puff this morning and was surprised to see in my battery meter that Wi-Fi was still on in the background and took about 15percent of power even though i didn't use it all day. The only time it was actually off is when I was driving and a smart action was active which disables Wi-Fi when Bluetooth connection is active. Gonna attach two pictures
I prefer using Handcent SMS, and get my notifications from it.However, I'm also still getting notifications from the standard SMS, even though I've de-selected notifications on it.Anyone know how to stop it?
My phone connects to my Bluetooth fine and I can make an outgoing call. When I hang up and then try to make another call, for some reason the audio of the phone is not going through my car stereo for the second call so I switch the phone over to speaker phone using the speaker phone button on the phone. While on speaker phone I notice that the Bluetooth is still locked onto my stereo but I can still have a normal phone call through the speaker phone on my phone. After I am done with my call I try to wake the screen by pressing the power button and the phone does not respond BUT my call is still connected so I know the phone has not locked up or crashed since I can still talk to the other person on the other line. In order to get the screen to come back on I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button and volume keys.
I tried making a few more calls after it rebooted but this time I turned off Bluetooth prior to making the calls. I was able to make 3 other calls with no problems and the screen woke up each time I pressed the power button. I should also note that my WiFi is still on but not connected to any networks during that time and also my GPS antenna is on but not being used.
I know the phone is charged, when I plug it in though not even the charging screen comes on. The phone itself will not turn on at all. The only thing it will do is have the green notification light when plugged into my computer, but still no screen or phone power.
I just received my new Bionic yesterday, and it is loudly notifying me every time I receive an e-mail. I have been into settings and can't find any way turn notifications off. When I click "settings" under gmail, there is an option to turn off the icon in the status bar, but no way to turn off the sound.
Whenever I send an MMS to multiple people at the same time, it seems to create some sort of group conversation in which everyone can see everyone elses reply and text messages. This is really annoying!! I had a Droid 3 before I exchanged it for an X2, and I'm pretty sure you were able to turn it off within the messaging app's settings menu. However, that option seems to be missing on the X2?
I know when I had my Bionic you can hit like *# followed by numbers and that gets you to a screen to where you can block ads, is there a way you can do that for the Razr as well?
When I go to Menu > Settings > Sounds . . Under the heading 'Notifications', I do not have the option of a check box to turn off the notification sounds. All I have is a drop down menu entitled, "Notification Ringtone". Within this menu, I have the options "Android System", "Handcent SMS" and "Zedge ringtones". None of these allow me the option of silencing the phones notification sounds.
What is happening is that I'm getting a double 'notification' tone every time I get a text, and it's driving me crazy. I get an overall notification beep from the phone, then a secondary tone from the Handcent app. And I really want to silence ALL of the phones overall notification sounds, and only receive the ones from the Handcent app when I get a text.
My VOL and CAM buttons turn the unit ON [original "droid" (year and a half old) ]... as a result it is almost impossible to keep phone off in my holster and so it drains quickly and then NO phone!I looked in "settings" for the phone (globally) and found something about "accessibility" which is OFF (unchecked). "Power button ends call" = checked. But that'sit. Nothing on how to control those two buttoms.
When connected to my car via bluetooth, the phone emits a very loud, ear peircing tone when the call is ended. I cannot find how to turn off the call end tone in any of the menus. This is an extremely annoying "feature" that I would like to get rid of.
one widget I've always liked was a battery level indicator, usually a little picture of a battery showing the percent of remaining charge, like 49%, 87% or whatever. I've installed several of these on this phone, and none of them work. They freeze at whatever the battery level is at bootup.Installed Juice Defender. It's in "Balanced" mode, which is supposed to disconnect data flow when the screen is off. I hope it's working. On the JD setup screen, I tried to change to Customize, but the "Confirm" button doesn't respond. It appears to be working normally, though.Sometimes, the "bars" are turned off, until I make a call. Then when I dial, they suddenly light up.When I look at the battery activity, it shows "Browser" as using 19%! That's an awful lot, considering that it's not open. If that's what's really happening, is there some way to turn it off until I need to use it?
My GPS is running in the background all the time. I have checked the Task Manager app that came with the phone, and can't seem to find any applications that are running in the background that would cause the GPS to be running. In addition, I have tried turning the GPS off using the power control on the phone, but it still runs.
every time a new email comes in, I receive a notification alert. Since the notification is useful for other critical functions (receiving alerts on a system down - I am a Network dude), I cannot disable notifications. I find it very annoying that I have to run over to my phone every time I receive an email, thinking it might be a system down notification. I cannot selectively disable notifications by account. On My Xoom tablet, when setting up accounts, I have the option to Sync the account automatically, or not. If automatic sync is off, I can check my email at my leaisure, while only receiving notifications for important events.
Tried searching but came up empty. Every time I go into the camera app, it turns on the flash LED's as if I turned on a flashlight app. No matter what setting, it stays on.
Sometimes I use headphones while in noisy locations in order to hear calls better, but I still have to hold the phone up to talk into it. I noticed that something kept beeping, and figured out that the screen does not blank when against my head as it does without the headphones in place.
Is there a way to change that behavior, or do I just need to retrain myself to hold the phone differently when using headphones?
