Motorola Droid 4 :: How To Turn Off The Call End Tone
Sep 27, 2012
When connected to my car via bluetooth, the phone emits a very loud, ear peircing tone when the call is ended. I cannot find how to turn off the call end tone in any of the menus. This is an extremely annoying "feature" that I would like to get rid of.
I see that the Bionic users are complaing of this issue, but don't see it here with the Droid 4 users.(My Droid 2 did it as well). The tone happens at the end of a call no matter who is terminating the call or whether the phone is BT or not. I see no way to turn this off or control the volume with the Droid 4 without turning the whole notification process off.The problem is most severe when I BT to my car stereo as the tone is especially loud because of the car stereo volume. Ironically, if the call drops, there is no termination tone, which is the one time at least you could appreciate some sort of notification. Often I am talking away after the call drops and will have no idea that the call dropped. Ideally, this tone should be volume controlled independently of other notification tones.
Well, 181 was SUPPOSED to cure that evil end of call tone while making a call on a bluetooth connection. It nearly breaks my eardrums after every call.I've installed 181. Verified that I have 181 installed. Looked at every possible option to see if there was a way to silence the end of call tone. Nothing. The end of call tone is as loud as ever, post update. I know ICS has a switch for this - at least I am told it is there.
Since I've updated my phone, my screen refuses to turn on during a call, which is beyond frustrating. One, when someone texts me, I'll hear the notification while on the call , but I will have to wait until the other person ends the call for my screen to turn back on and I can continue from there.
For some reason the shutter tone for the camera never turns off. Whether marked on or off, it's on. I have downloaded a couple third party apps like Camera 360 and still get the same result. This is just a hassle when I'm trying to sneak pictures of my 10 month old sleeping.
I have an app called classic ringtones that i use, but for some reason the razr will not hold the setting and reverts back to a stock tone after an undertermined amount of time....I set the tone, it works for a while and then; just like that its gone!
I'm receiving a constant mystery alert tone from my Razr HD. I just purchased it a few days ago and I can't for the life of me figure out where the alert is coming from. When it goes off, it yields no information of its origin. Noting in the notification bar to indicate the source. The name of the alert is "burst" I use the "droid" alert tone, so I don't know why the "burst" tone is going off. I've shut off just about every notification I can find. I thought it was from my google voice app, but I still receive the alert even after I unistalled it.Some of the apps I use are Ebay, Yahoo, etsy fan, craiglist, I did install that Modern Combat game, viggle, netflix, PDA net, facebook, direct TV, angry birds starwars and thats about all I've installed so far..
This happens when I'm using apps that have a large percentage of white screen space (Google Books, browser between page loads, etc), or at least that's the only time I've noticed it.The whites on the screen are usually a cool white, but sometimes the entire white area of the screen will abruptly shift to a pinker hue and then back after several seconds. The first few times this happened I wondered if it was some kind of response to ambient light, like the auto dimming feature. However, I can't force it to happen, even by tilting/moving the phone or covering the light sensor right after it happens.
Does it sounds like an indication of a malfunctioning screen and something I should talk to Verizon about replacing? It's not a problem, just puzzling, but I just purchased the phone about two weeks ago so if this is a sign of a defect I want to fix it before it does cause problems.
Has anyone else noticed a crackling noise (like bad reception / interference) when placing calls? I want to say what I notice is when I'm getting the ring back while waiting for someone to pick up is the "only" time I hear it. The audio in calls seems to be ok. It's sounds like a weak signal or interference. As far as I know (though I use my phone more for data than voice).I haven't noticed anything horrible as far as reception/call audio in calls, aside from when calling my mom, but I think that's her (she's famous for leaning on the mic or mumbling and trailing off). I start to think I must be old (I'm not) and losing my hearing (I'm not) but then I just realize it's herI don't know if it's because usually when I make a call I just unlock the screen and make the call and it was trying to re-start any data sleeping modes and such or if it's something else...
When I receive a sms message sometimes, the original text comes through fine. However, a few minutes later I get small bits and pieces of the original message sent to me in about 10 separate text messages ( sometimes more ) from a California telephone number (I live in Mass.). When I call that number from my Bionic, it goes right ot my voice mail voice mail. When I call the number from a landline, it states that the call cannot be completed.
Frequently when I am using my bluetooth (I use more than one Motorola BT Oasis and Motorola H710) and when I end the call the Razr does not drop the call until I wake the Razr up.
I noticed this yesterday when I was leaving a voice mail message, that when I pressed the End Call "button" nothing seemed to happen. I was still connected to the call. I pressed a little harder for a little longer, and still I was connected. I had to turn the phone completely off to disconnect the call. It happened again today when I was leaving another message. Then I called my brother and talked to him for a minute, and I think the call only disconnected when he hung up, not when I pressed End Call.
I don't know about that I mean because my phone always constantly beeps in unusual moments during phone calls.with or without blue tooth, alsop activated or not. this search for my problems the reason why I'm here is getting very saddening
I'm currently the owner of a HTC One S but it started to act weird since a couple of days ago. More specific, when I am trying to call somebody you can hear the 'dial tone' twice and then it just stops and goes back to the telephone/contacts screen. Furthermore, when I am receiving calls the phone rings one, two or three times and then it stops for one second. Then, it starts to ring again two or three times and it ends et cetera ,, then the phone says that I have got 2 or three missed calls from this particular person (I tested it with my friend's phone and I just called once (and let the phone ringing for a while). Also, if i managed to pick it up within the two rings the conversation only lasts for a few seconds and then the phone goes back to the home screen.
Does anyone faces similar problems and has a solution? It's driving me crazy!Signal issues? By the way, sending and receiving text messages does not seems to be a problem. Also, I did a reset to the original factory settings but the problem still exists. The phone also contained the last availble updates
I have had my Electrify for I week and began experiencing a problem another US Cellular customer described in a review of the phone. When using the speaker phone, the audio is very distorted. When I try to to turn off the speaker, the call drops. When I try to redial, the phone reboots. I have used the speakerphone feature quite a bit since I have had the phone without issue until today. I see that other users have described a random reboot
I'm looking for an app that will turn the screen on automatically when there are notifications. The main reason is I want this is to confirm that a call has ended. When I'm using my bluetooth headset and hit the end button, I have no visual confirmation from my phone that the call has indeed ended. With the majority of the other phones I've owned, the screen will come on and a notification will pop up for certain things (call ending, incoming texts, bluetooth connected/disconnected, wifi available, etc). But on Android I can't find a way to do this.
Former Samsung Note user. Not sure if this is a Samsung or Android feature but when I finish a call, the Note made a short and quiet chime. This is useful because I can tell that a call did in fact end as opposed to it still going on when I thought I had ended the call and the person on the other being able to hear what's going on until I find out.
When I send a message, I get a balance notification which also makes a text tone alert (same as when I receive a text). Is there a way to turn off the notification tone?
