one widget I've always liked was a battery level indicator, usually a little picture of a battery showing the percent of remaining charge, like 49%, 87% or whatever. I've installed several of these on this phone, and none of them work. They freeze at whatever the battery level is at bootup.Installed Juice Defender. It's in "Balanced" mode, which is supposed to disconnect data flow when the screen is off. I hope it's working. On the JD setup screen, I tried to change to Customize, but the "Confirm" button doesn't respond. It appears to be working normally, though.Sometimes, the "bars" are turned off, until I make a call. Then when I dial, they suddenly light up.When I look at the battery activity, it shows "Browser" as using 19%! That's an awful lot, considering that it's not open. If that's what's really happening, is there some way to turn it off until I need to use it?
The bookmarks with ICS appear as tiny, hard-to-read icons with tiny, hard-to-read text on my Razr Maxx. I can't find a way to change the bookmarks from icons to pure text so that they are recognizable and usable. Seems like one of many features that is much worse with ICS than it was with GB. Is there a way to have the bookmarks appear as text-only? As an aside, is it only me, or is ICS a disappointment, with little to offer that makes learning a new OS worth the aggravation?
I can no longer save a website to my bookmarks. I get a message that the browser has stopped. Cleared browser cache and history. Still no good. Its with any website too,not just certain ones.
Starting immediately after the ICS upgrade, I began having problems with the stock browser. Basically, after a few pages of activity, the browser will freeze and completely stop working. The only way to get back to browsing is to go to Manage Apps and Force Close or restart the phone. Some sites seem to cause the problem faster than others but it seems it will eventually happen on any site. I have tried warm reboot which seems to maybe give longer use before freezing again, but that may not actually be correct. I have been trying to avoid a factory reset.
The browser just closes and when I reopen it all browser windows have closed. While this isn't really that big a deal in of itself, I just received the phone two days ago so I am worried that it signifies something bigger!Otherwise this phone is awesome and I don't want to return it if this is just a bug that can be fixed...but if this is the start of a crazy amount of problems like I had with the Motorola Droid X I want to bail early! Before I had the Motorola Droid X I had the Motorola Droid and it was always nice and stable!!It never did this with my Motorola Droid X and it doesn't do it with any other websites I have found. (yet)t also does it occasionally when my daughter plays Smurf Village but that is harder to reproduce; I don't what she does exactly before it kicks out.
Since installing ICS 4.0.4 I seem to no longer have the option to switch my data to CDMA only which is a problem because when I'm at work I get just enough of a 4G signal to keep my RAZR bouncing back and fourth between 3G and 4G and killing my battery in the process.
I wanted to see my battery life with Wi-Fi off all day. I understand that 4g normall takes more power but I thought that it might still be worth it if it didn't work all the time. Anyways I sit it puff this morning and was surprised to see in my battery meter that Wi-Fi was still on in the background and took about 15percent of power even though i didn't use it all day. The only time it was actually off is when I was driving and a smart action was active which disables Wi-Fi when Bluetooth connection is active. Gonna attach two pictures
My phone connects to my Bluetooth fine and I can make an outgoing call. When I hang up and then try to make another call, for some reason the audio of the phone is not going through my car stereo for the second call so I switch the phone over to speaker phone using the speaker phone button on the phone. While on speaker phone I notice that the Bluetooth is still locked onto my stereo but I can still have a normal phone call through the speaker phone on my phone. After I am done with my call I try to wake the screen by pressing the power button and the phone does not respond BUT my call is still connected so I know the phone has not locked up or crashed since I can still talk to the other person on the other line. In order to get the screen to come back on I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button and volume keys.
I tried making a few more calls after it rebooted but this time I turned off Bluetooth prior to making the calls. I was able to make 3 other calls with no problems and the screen woke up each time I pressed the power button. I should also note that my WiFi is still on but not connected to any networks during that time and also my GPS antenna is on but not being used.
I know when I had my Bionic you can hit like *# followed by numbers and that gets you to a screen to where you can block ads, is there a way you can do that for the Razr as well?
My GPS is running in the background all the time. I have checked the Task Manager app that came with the phone, and can't seem to find any applications that are running in the background that would cause the GPS to be running. In addition, I have tried turning the GPS off using the power control on the phone, but it still runs.
Tapping my way through "Go to all settings" > "Accounts" > "Google". I see my gmail account shown, and under that it says "Sync is OFF". Before the update to Jellybean I could find where to turn this on and off. Further tapping on my account name I get to a screen titled "Sync" at the top-left. The options icon gives me "Sync now" and "Remove account" options. The screen is filled with a list of Google things I can sync. Tapping any of those syncs that Google thing. But, none of them are configurable.
I went to a seminar yesterday and turned the sound off on the phone using the volume keys. The icon showed the speaker with the slash over it. But then I accidentally hit the voice commands button and the phone started talking. Is there any way to make the phone be totally silent-so that if I went to a web page or hit the voice commands or anything else that makes noise it would still not make any sound?
My razr started to play up a couple of days ago, i had increased phone usage and it was getting quite warm and then the touch screen wouldn't work - ie couldn't end phone calls, then today the battery died after using navigation - and now will NOT turn back on....
I leave my phone in the dock by my bed and have a timeframe smart action set to turn off all ringers but I can't seem to find a way to turn off the notification light. It gets kind of annoying to wake up to get a drink and see that light flashing because of a new email like a new photon or an email. If I could set a smart action to turn the light off at night that would be excellent.
Has anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
I have to take several medications during the day and use my phone alarm to remind me. My problem is that I carry my phone in my front pocket and sometimes when the alarm notice goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket and the window to turn off the alarm is no longer there. Taking the phone out of my pocket somehow removed the alarm window. I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm except to turn completely turn the whole phone off then turn it back on again (which takes a long time because it has to go through the whole boot process.
Does anyone know how to turn of a scheduled alarm when the alarm window is no longer on the screen?
I know I sound ignorant here, but how do I turn off data saver mode on my RAZR, I have unlimited data and have a large email I need to download. I can't find data manager on settings.
Upgraded three family DX's this weekend to the RAZR MAXX's and so far pretty pleased. My wife's phone has an interesting "feature?" which I haven't been able to figure how to turn off. When she has an unread email (either GMAIL or or local internet provider mail) periodicaly when the screen is locked and off the screen will turn on for a second and then turn off like a reminder notification. Obviously a battery killer. I've looked through all the reminder features including the add-on we use "Light Flow Lite" which we use for missed calls and cannot find where to turn this off.
I purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.
I have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.
Brand new Car Dock and Razr. Installed and all good working no problems for first 2 days, then when I dock the RAZR it does not change to the car navigation screen or start to charge.Power light on the power cable. RAZR charges and transfers data via other cables.
The Verizon Sales assistant assured me that I'd be able to Sync my Outlook with my Droid Razr as easily as I synced it with my old Blackberry Tour. Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. Have I missed something?
I frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?
