View 2 RepliesI have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince installing ICS 4.0.4 I seem to no longer have the option to switch my data to CDMA only which is a problem because when I'm at work I get just enough of a 4G signal to keep my RAZR bouncing back and fourth between 3G and 4G and killing my battery in the process.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to see my battery life with Wi-Fi off all day. I understand that 4g normall takes more power but I thought that it might still be worth it if it didn't work all the time. Anyways I sit it puff this morning and was surprised to see in my battery meter that Wi-Fi was still on in the background and took about 15percent of power even though i didn't use it all day. The only time it was actually off is when I was driving and a smart action was active which disables Wi-Fi when Bluetooth connection is active. Gonna attach two pictures
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had some troubles with my Bionic the past few weeks.I have a Wifi network at home but not in my Office or car.I will keep the Bionic's Wifi at home on all the time, but will turn it off whne I leave. Many times when I will either walk into another place of buisness or just get a text message when the Wifi is off,it will turn the Wifi on.So,it's searching for Wifi and taking the battery life down as well.I have taken the battery out with the Wifi on and rebooted.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone connects to my Bluetooth fine and I can make an outgoing call. When I hang up and then try to make another call, for some reason the audio of the phone is not going through my car stereo for the second call so I switch the phone over to speaker phone using the speaker phone button on the phone. While on speaker phone I notice that the Bluetooth is still locked onto my stereo but I can still have a normal phone call through the speaker phone on my phone. After I am done with my call I try to wake the screen by pressing the power button and the phone does not respond BUT my call is still connected so I know the phone has not locked up or crashed since I can still talk to the other person on the other line. In order to get the screen to come back on I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button and volume keys.
I tried making a few more calls after it rebooted but this time I turned off Bluetooth prior to making the calls. I was able to make 3 other calls with no problems and the screen woke up each time I pressed the power button. I should also note that my WiFi is still on but not connected to any networks during that time and also my GPS antenna is on but not being used.
I know when I had my Bionic you can hit like *# followed by numbers and that gets you to a screen to where you can block ads, is there a way you can do that for the Razr as well?
View 4 Replies View Relatedone widget I've always liked was a battery level indicator, usually a little picture of a battery showing the percent of remaining charge, like 49%, 87% or whatever. I've installed several of these on this phone, and none of them work. They freeze at whatever the battery level is at bootup.Installed Juice Defender. It's in "Balanced" mode, which is supposed to disconnect data flow when the screen is off. I hope it's working. On the JD setup screen, I tried to change to Customize, but the "Confirm" button doesn't respond. It appears to be working normally, though.Sometimes, the "bars" are turned off, until I make a call. Then when I dial, they suddenly light up.When I look at the battery activity, it shows "Browser" as using 19%! That's an awful lot, considering that it's not open. If that's what's really happening, is there some way to turn it off until I need to use it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy GPS is running in the background all the time. I have checked the Task Manager app that came with the phone, and can't seem to find any applications that are running in the background that would cause the GPS to be running. In addition, I have tried turning the GPS off using the power control on the phone, but it still runs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy RAZR wifi is always on. I go the battery app in the phone menu and it says wifi is on all day everyday but if you toggle wifi its already off and I've tried everything from rebooting to mashing buttons like an idiot. This seems to be unrelated to ics it just randomly started doing it this past few days like since last Thursday.

View 15 Replies View RelatedTapping my way through "Go to all settings" > "Accounts" > "Google". I see my gmail account shown, and under that it says "Sync is OFF". Before the update to Jellybean I could find where to turn this on and off. Further tapping on my account name I get to a screen titled "Sync" at the top-left. The options icon gives me "Sync now" and "Remove account" options. The screen is filled with a list of Google things I can sync. Tapping any of those syncs that Google thing. But, none of them are configurable.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to a seminar yesterday and turned the sound off on the phone using the volume keys. The icon showed the speaker with the slash over it. But then I accidentally hit the voice commands button and the phone started talking. Is there any way to make the phone be totally silent-so that if I went to a web page or hit the voice commands or anything else that makes noise it would still not make any sound?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy razr started to play up a couple of days ago, i had increased phone usage and it was getting quite warm and then the touch screen wouldn't work - ie couldn't end phone calls, then today the battery died after using navigation - and now will NOT turn back on....

View 14 Replies View RelatedI leave my phone in the dock by my bed and have a timeframe smart action set to turn off all ringers but I can't seem to find a way to turn off the notification light. It gets kind of annoying to wake up to get a drink and see that light flashing because of a new email like a new photon or an email. If I could set a smart action to turn the light off at night that would be excellent.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have two droid razrs on my verizon account. they are both currently with no service due to my brother sticking me with a 1500 dollar phone bill that being said one of them will not connect to wifi says "error" and thats all and the bluetooth isnt working either during my research i have found others with this same problem but no solution if neither connected i would probably shrug it off as verizon shut off my wifi access but that is not the case i have done hours of research and cant seem to find a solution on my own so my question or rather questions are as follows: How do i fix this issue if even possible? What could have caused this issue? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? Should i just try and get a replacement when i pay my bill and get service reconnected? my phones are not rooted or altered in anyway they are stock exactly the way you buy them at verizon store?
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I check email (gmail, earthlink) or use the browser the wifi turns itself on. To be clear it is OFF to start with. Then when I do these functions the ? mark in the wifi symbol appears and it says "wifi network available, select a preferred network" and it is now turned on. I turn it off and then it goes on again as I said. Just got phone, only apps added were no lock and battery widget if that helps.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI sometimes use my RAZR to connect to a WiFi hotspot that has no Internet access. (I'm in the field running a computerized telescope.) In that situation, is it possible to use the 4G LTE channel to establish an Internet connection so I can check email, etc.? If so, how would I set this up? Ideally I would want to have a Smart Action or a toggle to switch between normal mode and my astronomy mode.I'm running the new .181 OTA, stock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to take several medications during the day and use my phone alarm to remind me. My problem is that I carry my phone in my front pocket and sometimes when the alarm notice goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket and the window to turn off the alarm is no longer there. Taking the phone out of my pocket somehow removed the alarm window. I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm except to turn completely turn the whole phone off then turn it back on again (which takes a long time because it has to go through the whole boot process.
Does anyone know how to turn of a scheduled alarm when the alarm window is no longer on the screen?
I know I sound ignorant here, but how do I turn off data saver mode on my RAZR, I have unlimited data and have a large email I need to download. I can't find data manager on settings.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAt home I am pretty sure it does the same thing. This morning when I got to the office, I noticed it was telling me that I have a wifi available. Open it up and there was the known wifi I have been connected to before, all week. Odd though, it says disabled but when i click it to connect, it says obtaining ip but then does back to not connected and says disabled. So basically I cannot connect to the wifi and I am 110% positive I have the correct password since I have connected to it just yesterday. Also curious why it isn't just connecting automatically to a known wifi. I have checked and others are on it right now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust picked up my RAZR. Only issue so far is the WiFi. The phone will connect to my home network but any attempt to use the browser gives a connection error. Same issue with any application that requires a data connection. My laptop connects with no issue and my Droid X connects with no problem.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhile using the DROID Razr Maxx at home, wifi is turned on and works great. When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is somewhat counterproductive if a person wants to set smartactions based on location, unless we want to leave Wifi permanently enabled. Is there a workaround? I have several location-based smartactions set up, but they fail if I dont leave wifi on, which I don't want to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had the Razr Maxx HD for a couple of months without any problems. After updating to JB, I now have a consistent problem with the phone freezing and then rebooting whenever I move out of one of my Wi-Fi APN connections. For example, while at home and connected to my home Wi-Fi, the phone is fine. As soon as I walk outside and leave my Wi-Fi coverage area, the phone will freeze. A few minutes later it will reboot on its own. Same thing at work. When I enter one of my "remembered" Wi-Fi APN coverage areas, the phone will connect OK and work OK through Wi-Fi, but as soon as I leave the area, it freezes. If I disable W-Fi, no more problems.
An exception to this is that recently I stayed several days at a hotel and connected to the hotel's Wi-Fi, and had no problems whatsoever when I left the hotel on numerous occassions.
My Maxx does not reconnect to 3 or 4G after using WIFI. When I toggle off wifi the 4G bars are white and I get a no connectivity message when trying to get e-mail. Then I restart the phone and all is good.
