Dec 7, 2011when setting up your Gmail in the stock email app to use it that way or take advantage of the Universal Inbox you should do it this way.
1. if you set it up already by My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Gmail then you need to delete that account
2. go to My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Other
3. use the following:
Incoming Settings
IMAP server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL (always)
Outgoing settings
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL (always)
this will now work as it should.the problem was that if you set it up with Gmail selected instead of Other then when you checked an email on the RAZR it would not show as Read on your Gmail account and same with Sent folder etc...

Apr 16, 2011How many Personal email accounts Blackberry's are allowed to have? I have 3 Personal email accounts now and want to add more and wont allow me to add more. I have a Blackberry Curve 9300. And this comes to my next question. I am having difficulties adding and deleting an email account. When I go to "setup - email accounts - I have an option of Internet Mail Account and Enterprise Account. I select Internet Mail Account and when I select the Blackberry boots me out" I have nothing but problems with this OS 6.0 on my BB.

The idea of a universal inbox is obviously appealing, for I get all five of my email addresses on my phone. I am also a bit of a minimalist, in that the less shortcuts I have on my phone, the happier I am. The question that I have is how do I add additional accounts to the iniversal inbox.

Jun 28, 2011Before the latest software update, there was a setting in call settings called personal profile that let me select to have the sound silence when turning phone upside down and/or by tapping screen 2 times. There was also a setting to end a call by clicking the power off button. I can no longer find these settings. Will they bring them back in a future software update? I miss these features!

Oct 11, 2011If you have multiple email accounts setup in the email client, how do you switch between the accounts? It would be real intuitive if that little drop down arrow next to the account name was to select another account but all that does is bring up options for the inbox, sent, etc. The only way I know is to go into config and set the default account to the one you currently want to look at. It can't be that hard!

Sep 13, 2011I have been using various Android phones now for quite a while (including some Motorola ones) and I've never had this happen before..I have multiple email accounts setup on my phone (both Exhange and POP). In the past, I could use the "Email" icon and tap on the name of the email account at the top and it would drop down a list of email accounts on the phone and then I could choose the one that I wanted. Now, when I click on the name of the email account, I get a list of folders on the default account. I cannot find a way to switch accounts other than going to the Messaging icon and picking it there. I do not like the universal inbox. I would love to know a shortcut if anyone has figured this out other than having to go to the messaging section.

If my phone is misplaced, people have no options other than to go through the phone and figure out who the owner is. It would be great to have this feature. It would give me peace of mind knowing it's there in case it's found. Most people would try to return it to a store or its rightful owner.

Dec 22, 2011I've had my RAZR about a week coming from a Droid X, so I know this worked before.I have 2 corp sync accounts with my home broadband provider, Frontier. Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. Sep 20, 2011i am having problems with my bionic adding accounts under the my accounts settings area. every time i try to add my picasa, facebook, Internet, or twitter it says 'an error has occurred please try again later'. when trying to add an email account it says auto setup is not available for the provider (tried with my gmail, yahoo, hotmail, & verizon accounts). i got around that by finding the manual values to fill in for each provider account, but that's just email. i am pretty miffed on the others not working.
mostly because i would like to have picasa in my gallery and be able to share photos from gallery or after taking with camera app to picasa and/or facebook. i do not want to have the facebook for android app on my phone, so just having the account set up in blur would be sufficient. i have tried taking my timezone off the automatic setting and retrying to add picasa account, still no joy. still in my 14 day trial with the bionic and am certainly being swayed by this issue

Jun 17, 2011On bluetooth - if I hangup from one call and immediately try to make a second call - I get to the "connecting" screen but then nothing happens, I completely lose all service (bars and 3g) and I cannot disconnect the call. the only fix I've found is to shut phone down and then turn back on.

I have always received updates based on my gmail account.It worked that way on my Droid 1, and it still does on my Asus Transformer.All of a sudden, I'm getting reminders for updates on my other two email accounts.It will say "1 update on xxxx. 1 update on yyyy. 3 updates on gmail.I can't find a setting to get rid of the other accounts. The "account" item in the settings ask me to choose which account.The gmail account is chosen. The others aren't (radio button, can't have more than one even if I wanted that).

Nov 13, 2011For whatever reason I can't get the stock e-mail app to sync my G-mail account correctly, unless I use the manual sync. It shows every 15 minutes (not thrilled with that either) but still won't do it. I really like the stock e-mail app with the gesture swipe too and just the general look of it. How can the g-mail app continuously sync and not this one? Jun 5, 2011Since receiving the OTA GB update, I have run into an issue where the phone will not make calls. After dialing a number and hitting send, the phone looks like it is about to dial but immediately goes to 'End Call' and disconnects. I'm seeing the same thing after hitting a direct-dial shortcut. The dial screen comes up with the contact's phone number and as soon as the phone connects to start dialing, it immediately goes to 'End Call.' Time of call in every instance is 00:00.
This has happened twice in the last 3 days and the only way I have found to correct it is to pull the battery. A powerdown/reboot does not do anything. The annoyance is magnified since I am using an Otterbox Defender case and have to remove it to access the battery (grrrr!)

Oct 12, 2012I have had a lot of trouble with my phone, I make a call and it connects with the party. But they say I am connected but they can not hear me and I can not here them! Also I do not here any ringing to the other party. If I reboot the phone it works, but after an hour or so I have to do the same thing again..... (reboot).
