I have been using my DX2 for some time now, and have been trying to utilize some of its features. The idea of a universal inbox is obviously appealing, for I get all five of my email addresses on my phone. I am also a bit of a minimalist, in that the less shortcuts I have on my phone, the happier I am. The question that I have is how do I add additional accounts to the iniversal inbox.

Certain received messages show up with no subject and with the timestamp as 0 UTC (1/1/1970) but adjusted for timezone. The problem e-mails look perfectly fine when viewed on a computer. The same problem was reported some time ago in thisthread:https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/100304Incidentally enough, all the e-mail notifcations generated when there is a response to a thread I've created (in this forum) show the same behavior, so it should be easy enough for Motorola to duplicate (hint hint).
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I press refresh from my Universal Inbox or from Twitter under Messages, I get an orange triangle with a message that states Unable to connect to Twitter. I can log in at twitter.com on my PC and the Seesmic app loads the tweets just fine. I tried deleting my account and reading it; even tried clearing caches as well as powering phone off & on - nothing has worked.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen setting up your Gmail in the stock email app to use it that way or take advantage of the Universal Inbox you should do it this way.
1. if you set it up already by My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Gmail then you need to delete that account
2. go to My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Other
3. use the following:
Incoming Settings
IMAP server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL (always)
Outgoing settings
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL (always)
this will now work as it should.the problem was that if you set it up with Gmail selected instead of Other then when you checked an email on the RAZR it would not show as Read on your Gmail account and same with Sent folder etc...
I currently have 5 email accounts tied to the combined (blur?) inbox on my phone. When I receive an email on a particular account, I can access it just fine through the notification bar. What I haven't been able to do is figure out (short of changing the primary account under settings), is how to seemlessly go from one account to another within the app.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the Bell Mobility Atrix. For the most part it works fine. However, lately, this is what's going on. First I should mention that I have the Android Twitter app (from Twitter) installed on the phone and I can log in to Twitter, send/receive messages just fine with that. If, however, I go to Accounts > Add Account, then select Twitter in the Motoblur section (where all the other social media icons also appear), enter my credentials, I get a message stating Success!, Then, if I go to Messaging from the Home Screen, I see the Twitter icon, however it has a yellow exclamation point through it, and the message "Failed Connection".
So I cannot see/read/send messages to/from my Twitter inbox using the Universal Inbox (again, Twitter works just fine through the regular Android Twitter app). I have done all the normal troubleshooting, i.e. removed battery & SIM card, replaced them. Uninstalled and removed my accounts, rebooted phone. Reinstalled app and also re-added my Motoblur Twitter account, and each time it says "Failed Connection". I don't see online where I can configure my Universal Inbox accounts, only on the phone.
Received my new Admiral last night. My issue is Gmail. My business accounts use Gmail and I was excited that the Admiral had a Universal Inbox like BB. Unfortunately it seems that Gmail will not work with the Universal Inbox which is a real problem for me. I really need to see and preview my business accounts first. There is also no widget option for Gmail, only my Yahoo mail. Any workaround for the Universal Inbox or a Gmail widget I could add?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you have multiple email accounts setup in the email client, how do you switch between the accounts? It would be real intuitive if that little drop down arrow next to the account name was to select another account but all that does is bring up options for the inbox, sent, etc. The only way I know is to go into config and set the default account to the one you currently want to look at. It can't be that hard!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using various Android phones now for quite a while (including some Motorola ones) and I've never had this happen before..I have multiple email accounts setup on my phone (both Exhange and POP). In the past, I could use the "Email" icon and tap on the name of the email account at the top and it would drop down a list of email accounts on the phone and then I could choose the one that I wanted. Now, when I click on the name of the email account, I get a list of folders on the default account. I cannot find a way to switch accounts other than going to the Messaging icon and picking it there. I do not like the universal inbox. I would love to know a shortcut if anyone has figured this out other than having to go to the messaging section.

Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. View 7 Replies View Relatedi am having problems with my bionic adding accounts under the my accounts settings area. every time i try to add my picasa, facebook, Internet, or twitter it says 'an error has occurred please try again later'. when trying to add an email account it says auto setup is not available for the provider (tried with my gmail, yahoo, hotmail, & verizon accounts). i got around that by finding the manual values to fill in for each provider account, but that's just email. i am pretty miffed on the others not working.
mostly because i would like to have picasa in my gallery and be able to share photos from gallery or after taking with camera app to picasa and/or facebook. i do not want to have the facebook for android app on my phone, so just having the account set up in blur would be sufficient. i have tried taking my timezone off the automatic setting and retrying to add picasa account, still no joy. still in my 14 day trial with the bionic and am certainly being swayed by this issue
how often the social apps for facebook and twitter sync for those accounts integrated on the RAZR. On the Bionic which was very similar, we had the option of selection "PUSH" or we could fetch the data for those feeds at different time frames. I dont see that option at all on the RAZR, and i would rather not have push going all day for facebook and twitter...

I have always received updates based on my gmail account.It worked that way on my Droid 1, and it still does on my Asus Transformer.All of a sudden, I'm getting reminders for updates on my other two email accounts.It will say "1 update on xxxx. 1 update on yyyy. 3 updates on gmail.I can't find a setting to get rid of the other accounts. The "account" item in the settings ask me to choose which account.The gmail account is chosen. The others aren't (radio button, can't have more than one even if I wanted that).
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor whatever reason I can't get the stock e-mail app to sync my G-mail account correctly, unless I use the manual sync. It shows every 15 minutes (not thrilled with that either) but still won't do it. I really like the stock e-mail app with the gesture swipe too and just the general look of it. How can the g-mail app continuously sync and not this one? Plus I don't want notifications coming up for both apps, it's pretty redundant.Data push is turned on for: my gmail accountFetch Schedule is every 15 minutes but it shows for "no accounts" can't find an option that connects my account.

I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.
So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.
