Motorola Droid 3 :: Universal Inbox And E-mails With Incorrect Timestamp?
Aug 3, 2011
I have my Yahoo e-mail account tied into the universal inbox. Certain received messages show up with no subject and with the timestamp as 0 UTC (1/1/1970) but adjusted for timezone. The problem e-mails look perfectly fine when viewed on a computer. The same problem was reported some time ago in thisthread:https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/100304Incidentally enough, all the e-mail notifcations generated when there is a response to a thread I've created (in this forum) show the same behavior, so it should be easy enough for Motorola to duplicate (hint hint).
I am using a Droid RAZR with ICS. At times I will receive an email with a timestamp sometime in the future (usually a SPAM message). This prevents new emails from downloading into the email program until after the date and time of that last email. If I delete the email with the incorrect timestamp other meails will immediately download onto the phone.I have looked at the header for this email in Outlook on my PC, and it appears that the email program on the phone is using the timestamp fro the sending computer system, not the one from the local timezone. Does anyone know a way around this issue?
I have been using my DX2 for some time now, and have been trying to utilize some of its features. The idea of a universal inbox is obviously appealing, for I get all five of my email addresses on my phone. I am also a bit of a minimalist, in that the less shortcuts I have on my phone, the happier I am. The question that I have is how do I add additional accounts to the iniversal inbox.
Made the move from the Original Droid to the X2 yesterday. So far, it is a much improved device. Can't figure out how to get my gmail to show in the universal inbox.
When I press refresh from my Universal Inbox or from Twitter under Messages, I get an orange triangle with a message that states Unable to connect to Twitter. I can log in at twitter.com on my PC and the Seesmic app loads the tweets just fine. I tried deleting my account and reading it; even tried clearing caches as well as powering phone off & on - nothing has worked.
this will now work as it should.the problem was that if you set it up with Gmail selected instead of Other then when you checked an email on the RAZR it would not show as Read on your Gmail account and same with Sent folder etc...
The online Atrix 2 manual, linK: http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/US-EN/Mobile%20Phones/Motorola_ATRIX_2/Documents/StaticFiles/ATRIX2_UG_US_EN_68016171001A.pdfpage 27 says:---------Quick Start: MessagingSend and receive quick text messages orfull emails.Find it: > Messaging > Universal InboxProblem is, I dont have a Universal Inbox. When I click on the Messaging Icon, all I get is(see photo): Top line says Messaging with a + sign on right side; and an icon, in the main screen area, that says Text Messaging and has a "1" on it. Im assuming that means 1 contact, but I have all my contacts on the phone (and yes thats more than 1)hen I click on the + sign at top right, a small window appears, below the text messaging icon, that says - Choose Account, on top line, and Text message below; (see attachment).
The icon (shortcut) for my Universal Inbox disappeared from my home screen today and I cannot figure out how to re-add it.It does not seem to be one of the shortcut applications choices. I can still access the Universal Inbox from Messages, but no longer a direct shortcut.
I have the Bell Mobility Atrix. For the most part it works fine. However, lately, this is what's going on. First I should mention that I have the Android Twitter app (from Twitter) installed on the phone and I can log in to Twitter, send/receive messages just fine with that. If, however, I go to Accounts > Add Account, then select Twitter in the Motoblur section (where all the other social media icons also appear), enter my credentials, I get a message stating Success!, Then, if I go to Messaging from the Home Screen, I see the Twitter icon, however it has a yellow exclamation point through it, and the message "Failed Connection".
So I cannot see/read/send messages to/from my Twitter inbox using the Universal Inbox (again, Twitter works just fine through the regular Android Twitter app). I have done all the normal troubleshooting, i.e. removed battery & SIM card, replaced them. Uninstalled and removed my accounts, rebooted phone. Reinstalled app and also re-added my Motoblur Twitter account, and each time it says "Failed Connection". I don't see online where I can configure my Universal Inbox accounts, only on the phone.
Received my new Admiral last night. My issue is Gmail. My business accounts use Gmail and I was excited that the Admiral had a Universal Inbox like BB. Unfortunately it seems that Gmail will not work with the Universal Inbox which is a real problem for me. I really need to see and preview my business accounts first. There is also no widget option for Gmail, only my Yahoo mail. Any workaround for the Universal Inbox or a Gmail widget I could add?
I am having with my BlackBerry Bold 9900. The time for incoming SMS messages is constantly saying 03.10am, and when I scroll over the message it always says "received 1 minute ago", regardless of when the message was received. My sent messages seem to be working fine and the time and date have been set correctly. The phone is only a week old and the software is up to date. I have tried removing the battery and rebooting the device but nothing has worked.
Whenever I send an email using my gmail account whether from my phone or my computer, the sent message shows up in the inbox as a new incoming message, I have my Messaging already set to hide sent emails/SMS/MMS/etc. So how do I get my phone to stop adding messages i sent as new messages in my inbox?
my received emails randomly disappear from the inbox from my Torch. I have the settings set to "forever" on the archive. Sometimes one or two go or the whole lot.
When I sent emails, the sent mails show up in my BB 8900 "inbox". So, if I send an email to myself, both the mail (received) and the sent mail show up in the handheld "inbox". I could not find a set up option so that the send mail will not be listed in the inbox. Any idea? Thanks.
I have the following set up: Messages > Option > General Options > Email Reconciliation > Delete on : Mailbox and handhel. Wireles Reconcile : On On Conflict: Handhel Wins
Many of my gmail messages like ads are automatically archived. Since I have my new bold 9900, these mails are not deleted from my inbox folder. My inbox Is polluated by many messages that are already archived. Consequence : I don't use anymore m bby for gmail, I use m iPad. If I open an already archived message, this one desapeare from my inbox as soon as I close it. I did not have the pb on my old devices (9000, 9800, 9700).
I have noticed that at the bottom of my Yahoo Mail account (which I use as my main email account), I have accumulated many blank messages from Dec 31st, 1969. At first I thought they were messages that I had deleted in Messaging. However, I have been watching the emails over the last couple of days, checking my online Yahoo interface when I would have unread messages show up in Messaging.
My Turbo phone GPS location on several apps is showing him in Atlanta Ga and not in Pa. I swapped out several times and the SIM. My other devices don’t have the issue. It started as soon as I swapped out the device.
Installed MotoSpeak to get the full benefit from the Roadster device. Immediately upon installation received a low storage message even thougth I had 29.97 MB available on my Droid 1. I have run with no problems at this memory amount before. But more importantly, I am unable to receive any text messages. Text messages are "rejected due to full message memory'. I do not have any text messages on my phone. Have deleted all of them before installing MotoSpeak.
This appears to be a problem with MotoSpeak and not my Moto Droid 1. Has anyone been able to get MotoSpeak to work successfully with their phones?
My phones serial # is listed incorrectly under my profile. I have tried to correct it several times but every time I do and save it, when I log back onto the forum it keeps putting a 7 at the end of my number.
Notifications - is there any way to differentiate emails, texts and voice mails? If yes, is there any way to associate different sounds to different email accounts?
In the past week, my D4 has been putting incorrect time stamps on incoming text messages when using certain non-stock text messaging apps. All received texts (regardless of sender) are stamped 4 hours earlier than when they were actually sent. Makes threaded messaging a real pain.
Stock text message app is fine, as is Handcent. The problem seems to be isolated to GO SMS Pro (my preferred SMS app) and ICS Messaging (stock ICS-like). I have uninstalled both and reinstalled with no change.
I just noticed something odd when pulling down my notification bar, it states that a voicemail I received yesterday was received on 12/31/69. The date and time are correct on the device everywhere else. I've pulled the battery and rebooted to the same thing. I guess it's not a huge issue, but just curious as to what causes this. For the record:
1. For example; when working in a multiple-AP (access point) environment, the phone will confuse itself about which AP to use and will remain linked to a more distant, and thus comparatively weaker, AP when one, or more, with a many times stronger signal is available. (See image below at right; WiFi fan icon shows weaker connection while much stronger one is available.)2. Also; it seems that the ICS WiFi system can even confuse itself about which AP it is actually using. ee the photo attached below at left where the settings reports that it has excellent signal strength from an AP that is a few feet away. Note that the WiFi fan icon in the notification bar is showing the signal strength of a more distant AP. There are times when this situation can be reversed; where the fan shows strong but the settings shows weak.
Social Networking Widget no longer working. When trying to update the Facebook service for the widget it says the password is incorrect. I delete the password, reenter it, it says: Updating Facebook service. The progress bar loads halfway and then says Internal server error occurred. Please try again. I then removed the account and readded it. I rentered my email address and password. The progress bar loads 1/3 of the way and it says: Adding your Facebook account. After that, it says Internal server error occurred. Please try again. I've tried turning the phone of and then turning it back on. I've also taken the battery out and done it that way. Still same result.
Recently, my location shows as Texas but am actually in Maryland. If I am using wi-fi, the location shows correctly. It shows incorrectly when on 4G. I tried rebooting, de-selecting location services settings and rebooting but still have this issue.
I've had the social networking widget working fine for some time. About a week ago the sync to my twitter account stopped working stating there was a username password problem. I double checked and I have the correct username and password. I changed the password online but that didn;t I've tried deleting the account from "my accounts" and it keeps telling me that the username / password are incorrect? Any workaround?
I set up my company's exchange email on my phone today, all the calender events, and Contacts sync, I can send email, but my inbox is always empty. I know I'm getting emails,I've sent myself things, it shows up on my laptop and my phone never receives anything. Has anyone else had this problem
