Nokia :: Updated Firmware - Opening Gallery And Songs Gives Message But Doesn't Open
Jun 10, 2010I have a problem with my 5800 and need some help.i updated my firmware to v50 and had 2 problem:
1- when i opened the gallery and songs the device gave me the message "searching for music and podcasts" so i waited but the message has been for the last 3 hours.
2- when some one calls me when the device is locked it gives me 2 options to answer and to unlock the phone using the touch screen but however i touch any option nothing happens.

Jun 7, 2010I have songs in m4a format and while playing albums some songs get skipped. It happens in two situations. Some songs cannot even be played manually, the player shows correct song length and all meta data from song but then it just skips when starts to play and just does that permanently for some songs from same album. Another situation is when the player jumps to next song in album and then I see for a moment WLAN icon showing up and then the song gets skipped. When I manually play this song it plays OK. Any idea?

Jan 19, 2010I haven't figured out why but when I have music playing while the phone is in my pocket, it seems to preview or skip songs after a couple seconds. Does it have something to do with my trouser snake messing with the touch screen?
It makes that beeping noise when songs change the moment it's in my pocket. I thought the screen was finger touch sensitive. What's going on? How do I stop this?

Sep 16, 2011I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.

I made a folder called Media / My Pix // and Media / My Flix. I know On my HTC it read my folders and grouped then which was nice.

May 2, 2011Am looking for any insight on how to clear thumbnails of pictures/videos from my gallery that have already been deleted off my phone. I have already tried powering off/on my phone, removing/replacing my battery and unmounting/remounting SD card. Have also tried going to Settings> Applications> Gallery and then clearing the data to see if it would reset the gallery but the thumbnails remain. Also went to the Gallery> All photos (and All videos)> Menu> Select Items and checked the photos and videos I wanted removed and then tried to delete them again but still the thumbnails remain.

Mar 6, 2012I know this isn't a serious issue at all (it's hardly an issue) but I was wondering if anyone else feels that the pinch zoom feature in the gallery is a bit too choppy? It is smoother when zooming in on lower resolution photos but not so much on larger files. I just thought it was odd and a bit wonky to use.

Mostly because the Motorola software interface killed my computer.I should be able to just connect the phone and move things like I would from any external memory device, just copy and paste or move, etc.Specifically, I'd like to move my photos from the gallery to my computer (without emailing them to myself).I have Windows 7 and currenty when I connect the phone my PC can't find the driver, so the phone won't show up in My Computer, so I can't do anything.

Jul 8, 2011On my DX, whenever I went to the Gallery, I was presented with the folders on my SD card that contained photos and videos. One folder I had was called "Wallpapers". On the DX2, all photos and videos get lumped together and there is no way of navigating to the folder that contains the photos or videos you want to see or play.I understand that there is a way to "group" photos and videos by day, week, or month. Fine. But why not also let you group them by the folders they are in on your SD card?If you click on "My library" and then click on the "My Library: Timeline" drop-down button at the top of the screen, you get a popup that shows you can view your "My library" by Albums, Locations, Tags, and Timeline. Again, why not also include the folders that they are in on your SD card? I was hoping that was what viewing your library by "Albums" would be, but that's not the case. When I click on that, I get two albums: "All videos" and "All photos". Not very convenient if you want to view a particular movie, video clip, or photo. I don't want to have to sort through a folder containing ALL of the videos or ALL of the photos.
Here's the problem as I see it in practice:Say you want to change your wallpaper. Okay, long-press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers". Now, select where you want to pull your wallpaper from. "Gallery". On my DX, it would take me to the Gallery and it would show separate folders for Camera, All Photos, and the folder I created for all of my wallpapers, called "Wallpapers". So then I could click on the "Wallpapers" folder and easily select the image I wanted as my wallpaper.ith the DX2, after long-pressing on your home screen and selecting "Wallpapers" and then "Gallery" as the source, it takes you straight to ALL of your pictures. I have more than 1,700 on my SD card so I don't want to scroll through all of them just to find the wallpaper images I saved that are mixed in with photos I took with my phone, downloaded images, etc. Sure, if you click on the Menu button and select "Group by", you can group all of the thousands of images by Day, Week, or Month, but again that doesn't help since who the heck knows when those wallpapers were created?
Motorola Droid X :: Unable To Rotate Picture In Gallery
Jun 24, 2011Got a picture sent to my X from my son's X. He took the photo in portrait mode. When I received it, as I was holding the phone upright (portrait) the photo was showing sideways. I rotated the phone, and the photo rotated yet again so its again sideways to the orientation of the phone. The only way to see the photo in the correct orientation is to hold the phone upside down, i.e. hard buttons at the top. I never noticed this before and it doesn't do it with pictures that were already on the phone. I looked at the one he took on his phone and it is in the correct orientation. I opened the picture both in the stock messaging app and in Handcent and its the same in both.

Nov 18, 2011As I'm listening to music, during the song I'm listening to, another song will start playing, cutting off the original song that was playing. The song that cuts in always cuts in somewhere which isn't the beginning for that song. Then, after anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or so, the original song goes back to playing where it had been interrupted from.For example:
(Song 1 starts in playing as I'd expect, from the start, goes along for a minute or two)
(Song 2 now kicks in, (which stops Song 1), somewhere in the middle of the song, then plays for a random amount of time)
(Song 1 now resumes (and Song 2 stops) at the place it was cut off by Song 2)
I've got a 32GB SD card, loaded with about 15gb of music from my libary. I have tried different music players, such as the stock music player, google music, PowerAmp and MixZing. Problem happens with all of them. I can get about three or four songs into a listening session before this happens. Doesn't matter if I'm listening to all songs randomly shuffled, or an album in order.All the songs that have issues with playback on the phone playback fine on my laptop, whether I use iTunes, Google Music, or doubletwist.

Recently my SD card got full while I was taking pictures, and so the new saved pictures were moved automatically to the internal memory. Starting a few days ago, I am having this problem: I'll be viewing photos in the gallery, and all of the sudden the photos go blank. There is just a gray square. I can flip from gray square to gray square -- no image shows. If I go back to the main gallery, it may or may not show pictures. There might just be gray squares, or all the pictures might be there. I have tried turning my phone off, then back on. The pictures will show up initially, but then when I start flipping through them, suddenly they turn to gray squares again. I have transferred the pictures to my computer, just to make sure they are saved somewhere. But can't figure out why they will show up and then turn to gray squares.
