There are two areas of my Droid 2 Global that do not work. The far left side about 1/8inch running top to bottom and directly above the Home key about 1/8 inch running top to bottom.
View 4 RepliesAbout a month ago my Droid Pro started acting up. I would have 5 bars and yet when I placed or took a call zero bars and the party on the other line could not hear me or had very poor connection. In addition I would receive notice of "no service" in areas normally served. At one point the system was setting to global connection on it's own. Took it to Verizon and they changed it back to CDMA. But still the same problem and on occasion i get a message of no CDMA service available. Went back to Verizon and did a factory reset, wiped out everything expect my contacts and still the same problem and now even worse. Now, when the phone rings it makes a weird Droid sounds and I still cannot be heard on the other end. Text and Internet work fine. Verizon says it is not enough of a problem to warrant a new phone, go figure.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA strange thing happened. I had been coping with Nokia somehow without shifting to another phone for 5 years now. Today i updated to belle refersh, now my tocuh screen doesnt register my touch in certain areas, i cant pull down the notification bar, cant scroll vertially (horizontal scroll works with jerks), the icon i click on doesnt get selected, but one above or on the side of it gets selected...pretty strange and annoying...what i did....removed memory card, restarted, checked...same thing...clean formatted the phone (without memory card...still doesnt work).
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy touchscreen frequently doesn't register my input in either swype or normal modes. This seems to happen primarily when searching contacts. Swype may show the word suggestion but it never appears in the search window. The only solution seems to be shutting down and removing the battery. Just restarting doesn't work. Neither does switching input methods.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X on Verizon. From time to time, the touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive. The "real" buttons work, but the touchscreen does not. I can't even turn it off, so I need to remove the battery to reboot it. This seems to be the only solution.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my Motorola Droid for about 3 months now, bought it new from an overstock dealer on ebay, sealed box and clean MEID.
The phone has been working PERFECTLY up until now, where now the touch screen suddenly does not respond at all. I can see the phone is working fine; the keyboard works, volume and power button works, I can see all the icons running, the time changes, everything. Taking out the battery never works. I did a hard reset and had the touch screen working a few times, but it's really hit or miss. It eventually reverts back to not working.
Again as I said, I have tried hard resets, safe mode, taking the battery out and letting it sit, took the SD card out, formatted the SD card, everything.
This all seems highly unusual, I have craddled this thing since i've gotten it to be sure I do not damage it. It is in pristine condition in every respect. I have no way to replace it since I am with an independent phone company.
I've just started getting a problem where a certain area of the touchscreen doesn't register the input. For instance, I cannot get the letter "d". As I move my finger very slightly I will get either "s" or "f", but not "d" inbetween. However if I hold down and slide across, the d will register, at least sometimes. Surprisingly I have problems with the same letter in either portrait or landscape mode, which is a different place on the keyboard.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen my Bionic is on the charger that came with the phone, the touchscreen acts totally erratically when trying to use it. If I'm trying to type a text message, it randomly hits letters, backspaces, etc. Same thing for trying to scroll and select stuff. However, the phone charges just fine. When I use the charger that came with my OG Droid dock, the phone is fine. Touchscreen works perfect. Same goes with the Moto car charger I have.
Assuming it was a bad charger, I spoke with Motorola chat online and they agreed to send me a new charger. I received it today (although it seems it's a different type of charger. It's not the USB cable with a wall adaptor, but an old school charger where the cable is permanently attached to the wall adaptor) but the phone seems to be doing the same thing (although it's not as severe as it was with the original charger that came with the phone).
This has only happened a couple times, but is really annoying when it does. The phone will be idle, not in use, and I will receive an incoming call. When I go to swipe the unlock/answer screen, the touchscreen is completely unresponsive and I have to let the call go to voice mail. I can't figure out what is causing it, but it periodically happens once or twice a week.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy XOOM returned from 4G upgrade refusing to search for WiFi once it has been allowed to connect 4G. I have experimented with many ways to improve this including changing from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only (just to test 3G connections), disabling the 'data enabled' setting, disabling WiFi too, then turning on WiFi both before and after blanking the screen, and trying all 3 options of when to change from 4G to WiFi (after screen blank, etc.). The only fix is a complete shutdown and cold boot for it to wake up and search for WiFi. The WiFi in question are the same I used before the 4G upgrade and nothing has changed but the XOOM hardware and presumably software. If it is restricted to WiFi only and I move from home to office to a public WiFi, it will happily switch back and forth UNTIL I coax it into a 4G connection. Then, it takes a cold reboot.

My wife has bought a second-hand C3-01 Touch and Type, but she can't use it at all. When she puts her SIM in the phone and turns it on, it comes up with "Vodafone OK", after a while the screen displays "unlock" but she can't unlock it. Basically, it appears the touchscreen doesn't work. Are there any suggestions as to what may be wrong? It would appear the phone did work previously - the owner rather foolishly left a set of contacts on it (visible when the phone starts up) so it was working for them to do that. Could it be a settings issue?

I have a Sony Ericsson X10 mini and my problems stared last week. The phone was really slow, and just unlock the phone took 1 minute! Few hours after that the Touchscreen didn't respond and the buttons didn't work, just the lock button, and when I try to power the phone off it just come 3 alternatives Quiet mode, Flight mode and shut down, but I can't get further it just ends there and i waited 1 day to empty the battery and to update it, and i just can't update it because i can't get to the menu and put it in USB mode and the back button don't work so what should I do?

It's been a bit funny from time to time, but near Christmas it turned itself off and the camera stopped working. In January, the touchscreen started to become unresponsive and difficult to operate, to the point where I am often unable to get into the phone. And typing a text / navigating around the menu is an absolute nightmare. I've tried to calibrate the screen, but that doesn't help, as it doesn't recognise that it's being touched sometimes.I haven't dropped the phone or got it wet. I don't use the internet on it either, so I presumably can't have a virus.Would it still be under warranty? I've had nothing but trouble with it and it certainly reinforces the notion of 'buy cheap, buy twice'.

Then at the moment I plug my charger cable into my phone (at battery level 15) it reboots and after the reboot the touchscreen no longer works. Then I upgraded Whatsapp and rebooted my phone again to see if it is fixed, but it still isn't the touchscreen simply doesn't work... It doesn't respond when I press on screen icon or scroll or whatever I do.

However, this week I was at work and I'm pretty sure the phone died. The red light stayed on, and when I was charging it in my car, it wouldn't hold a charge. It didn't turn on for 2 days, other than the white screen with the battery. I did a few battery pulls and left it plugged in. Now, it turns on when it wants to but the touchscreen realizes that my finger is there, but it doesn't click. What should I do? I took it to verizon and since I don't have insurance on it, they won't give me a new one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 3GS that I updated on iTunes yesterday and upgraded to the new IOS 5. When I started going through the Set Up process on the phone itself, it asks me to enter my Apple ID so I can set up iCloud, App Store, etc, on my phone. But the bottom portion of my touchscreen doesn't work. So I can not type in my Apple email address, I can not switch the keyboard to numbers, since that bottom part of the screen doesn't work. I tried turning it sideways, but it stays vertical. So I can't even touch "Skip this step", since it's on the bottom part of the screen also. Now I can not send or receive calls or even use my phone! Is there any way to bypass this setup on my phone? Or set it up on my computer instead of the phone? I can't believe it won't even let me receive calls - do I really need to set up iCloud to receive phone calls?

First of all it very often freezes and the touchscreen wont respond and if it does it lags behind. But the most annoying thing is the problem I have with the keypad. Whenever I am sending a message, whether that be Facebook or a text using the keypad the line of keys that the space is on will not work. Every other key will work except for that one line.

Right now the touch screen is completely unresponsive and reseting taking out sim and memory cards have no affect. I think the problem could be fixed if i do a hard reset but the send and end buttons dont work.
