I have an iPhone 3GS that I updated on iTunes yesterday and upgraded to the new IOS 5. When I started going through the Set Up process on the phone itself, it asks me to enter my Apple ID so I can set up iCloud, App Store, etc, on my phone. But the bottom portion of my touchscreen doesn't work. So I can not type in my Apple email address, I can not switch the keyboard to numbers, since that bottom part of the screen doesn't work. I tried turning it sideways, but it stays vertical. So I can't even touch "Skip this step", since it's on the bottom part of the screen also. Now I can not send or receive calls or even use my phone! Is there any way to bypass this setup on my phone? Or set it up on my computer instead of the phone? I can't believe it won't even let me receive calls - do I really need to set up iCloud to receive phone calls?

My wife has bought a second-hand C3-01 Touch and Type, but she can't use it at all. When she puts her SIM in the phone and turns it on, it comes up with "Vodafone OK", after a while the screen displays "unlock" but she can't unlock it. Basically, it appears the touchscreen doesn't work. Are there any suggestions as to what may be wrong? It would appear the phone did work previously - the owner rather foolishly left a set of contacts on it (visible when the phone starts up) so it was working for them to do that. Could it be a settings issue?

Few hours after that the Touchscreen didn't respond and the buttons didn't work, just the lock button, and when I try to power the phone off it just come 3 alternatives Quiet mode, Flight mode and shut down, but I can't get further it just ends there and i waited 1 day to empty the battery and to update it, and i just can't update it because i can't get to the menu and put it in USB mode and the back button don't work so what should I do?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia C3-01 touch and type last year in the beginning of June. It's been a bit funny from time to time, but near Christmas it turned itself off and the camera stopped working. In January, the touchscreen started to become unresponsive and difficult to operate, to the point where I am often unable to get into the phone. And typing a text / navigating around the menu is an absolute nightmare. I've tried to calibrate the screen, but that doesn't help, as it doesn't recognise that it's being touched sometimes.I haven't dropped the phone or got it wet. I don't use the internet on it either, so I presumably can't have a virus.Would it still be under warranty? I've had nothing but trouble with it and it certainly reinforces the notion of 'buy cheap, buy twice'.

View 4 Replies View Relatedyesterday my phone switches off automatically at battery level 15, and today at battery level 25 the phone switches off again... Then at the moment I plug my charger cable into my phone (at battery level 15) it reboots and after the reboot the touchscreen no longer works. Then I upgraded Whatsapp and rebooted my phone again to see if it is fixed, but it still isn't the touchscreen simply doesn't work... It doesn't respond when I press on screen icon or scroll or whatever I do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a blackberry storm from my friend about 2 weeks ago. When I got it, it worked perfectly, I personalized eveyrthing and I loved the phone. However, this week I was at work and I'm pretty sure the phone died. The red light stayed on, and when I was charging it in my car, it wouldn't hold a charge. It didn't turn on for 2 days, other than the white screen with the battery. I did a few battery pulls and left it plugged in. Now, it turns on when it wants to but the touchscreen realizes that my finger is there, but it doesn't click. What should I do? I took it to verizon and since I don't have insurance on it, they won't give me a new one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem for more than two weeks now. The touchscreen is not responding at all. Before I give it to the Sony Service Centre for repaiir, I need to take the backup of contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I have found that my touchscreen as been encountering some problems. First of all it very often freezes and the touchscreen wont respond and if it does it lags behind. But the most annoying thing is the problem I have with the keypad. Whenever I am sending a message, whether that be Facebook or a text using the keypad the line of keys that the space is on will not work. Every other key will work except for that one line.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy touchscreen frequently doesn't register my input in either swype or normal modes. This seems to happen primarily when searching contacts. Swype may show the word suggestion but it never appears in the search window. The only solution seems to be shutting down and removing the battery. Just restarting doesn't work. Neither does switching input methods.

I got my Nokia 5530 in December last year and after a hard reset and some sotware updates the problems continue to come back. Right now the touch screen is completely unresponsive and reseting taking out sim and memory cards have no affect. I think the problem could be fixed if i do a hard reset but the send and end buttons dont work.

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy touchscreen has stopped working. There were no error messages. It was intermittenent for about one hour before it stopped completely. At first I could turn it off and turn it back on again. It would work again for about 5 minutes then become unresponsive again. I am unable to turn it off even now. I cleaned the screen, it wasn't dirty. I've updated to iOS 5. I restored to factory settings and its the same issue. It hasn't had a bang or anything.

My touchscreen was working normally; but after i got a screen protection cover i applied some pressure on the screen in order to push the air bubbles. This resulted in a dead strip on the top line of the screen that is not responding well now.
for example,Genera-Settings-Network-Enable 3G : i can't swipe it from on to off .
same with wifi : i can't change it on or off.
another example is in Safari : on the google bar when i type something & then tap & hold, i see the 3 options " Select,Select all,Paste" ...i can't press any of these 3 options.

My Iphone 3GS touchscreen has been off and on working for about a week. Now it completely will not respond. I have reset the settings, restored factory settings, turned off wifi, powered it off, let the battery did, switch the vibrate switch on and off, but nothing has worked. I really need my phone to work.

I've noticed on my 4 that when I'm in a call holding the phone to my ear the touchscreen periodically enables. I can see this specifically at night when I can see a flash of light from the screen. I've had it several times that during one of these times when the screen enables I've ended up hitting the speaker button w/ the side of my face which is quite annoying.
Never noticed this on my first gen iPhone or on my 3GS.Anyone else noticed this or had this issue? Really annoying to be having a conversation and all of the sudden the convo is on speaker.
My iPhone 4's touchscreen is extra sensitive in phone mode. It started after I installed latest update. I keep hanging up on people. Or turning on facetime or the speaker.

I have a wonderful skill of dialing my phone with my chubby cheeks. The only bad thing is that while I am talking I hit the mute or the speaker phone and even sometimes I dial a phone number. Is there a way to lock the touch screen when on a call?

My iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1) was not quite two weeks old, and had experienced none of the overheating problems that are reported sporadically in various fora. Then, last night, I shot a 21-minute video. By the end the phone was fairly hot, though it did not shut down or display the green-triangle "overheated" image. I stopped the video and noticed that the left-hand quarter of the touchscreen no longer worked: for example, nothing happened when any icons in the left-hand column of any screen were touched. Display was unaffected, but nothing (cooling down, cycling power, resetting the phone, etc) restored the touchscreen function.
I took the phone to an Apple store today and they gave me a new one, saying this is a problem that they hadn't seen (which they always say, of course). But I'm still curious because my first stop was the Verizon store across the street, where I bought the phone in the first place. The Verizon folks told me that (1) they would not replace the phone, because (2) it sounded to them that I might have voided my warranty, on account of shooting a continuous 21-minute video, as (3) this overheating during video recording and trashing the screen was a known issue in iPhone 4Ss, which I should have known about, and at any rate (they stated emphatically), iPhones were not designed for long video shoots. Not only had I not heard any of this, I had heard the contrary many times, so I'm still wondering whether they were just trying to BS me or whether there really have been similar reports that just hadn't got publicized yet.

The touch screen on my iPhone 6 randomly becomes unresponsive. The home button and all the other buttons work, just not the touch screen.
It has happened about 20-30 times already since yesterday morning. It either gets stuck for 10-20 seconds or does not respond until I turn it off and on. Even after shutting it down and turning it back on it still occurs randomly. I've tried restoring it and it still happens.

My iphone 2g fell out of my pocket last night while I was washing hands into the wash bowl and although I wiped it dry immediately, there was some issue after a while. I didn't realise it could cause some issues. But when I received a call, the touch screen didn't function at all and I was unable to answer the call.
After spending sleepless night yesterday to fix this issue, nothing seemed to work. I rebooted, restarted, restored to factory setting, many times, nothing is working. This is a 2g phone with 3.1.2 firmware, jail broken with blackrain. But I still receive the call and the iphone is not completely dead yet. I was able to restore it back. But the "Slide to Unlock" is not functioning, In other words the bottom part of the touchscreen is not responding. But the upper part of the touch screen works, where I can power off.
I almost gave up. Any one having any suggestions. This is very frustrating. I put the iphone in a rice bag, hoping it will take away the moisture, but that didn't work either. I also tried using the hair dryer to remove the mositure, but no success either.
