Motorola Defy :: No Sound On Calls?
Jun 24, 2011I'm not getting any sound from my phone (other than the ring tone) when I make or receive a call unless I have the speaker activated. It's okay if I have the earpiece plugged in.

View 2 RepliesYesterday I upgraded my Defy to Froyo 2.2.2 (from the Moto website). Everything is great except my phone beeps everytime I get an email. I have gone into email settings and changed it to silent, but it still plays the ringtone. If I change the ringtone for email notification, it changes and plays the one I select, except if I change it to silent, it plays the "Bells" ringtone, which I think is the default. I have tried turning the phone off and on, but it still rings. I am using the stock email app with 2 pop accounts and a Yahoo account, and it plays the ringtone for all of them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Motorola Defy for about 3 months now. It seems to randomly cuts out during a call. I get a few words in then it cuts out and I have to ring again and it does the same thing. This is the first smartphone I bought. Previously I used a bog standard Nokia. Very reliable. No problems. Clear calls. Never cut-out. Now I pay 20 times as much for a "smart" phone and the most basic and important job - making calls - it has trouble with.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen i go to recent calls in the calling menu instead of saying what time the call was made or recieved it simply says roughly how long ago it was made.. this is annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDuring Incoming and Outgoing Calls, I have to activate the speaker phone for the person on the other line to hear me. Is this an issue that I can resolve myself (settings or physical dust) or do I need to send my phone in?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Electrify reboots itself randomly when I am attempting to make a call. A few times during other things as well. Sometimes it also has a very loud crackling sound on the call. Here is what I have tried so far; Uninstalling task killer app Updating phone software Replacing/formatting SD card Factory reset x2 My wireless company said they get 3 people per day with the same problem with Electrify.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSince about 6 hours ago, there was no sound coming out from my phone when I play any media. Neither was there any sound when I made a call. The funny thing is that when I paired it to my Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset, I could make calls without any problems. However, no sound will come out from the headset when I play any media. he problem persisted even after I did a forced reboot.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsetting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I bought a pair of RAZR M phones three days ago, and right from the beginning, soung quality was pretty poor. It doesn't seem to be a problem calling voicemail, I can hear the machine just fine, but on all voice calls, I sound very muffled, and have a hard time hearing the other person. I tried holding the phone in every conceivable way which made little difference. This is especially bad when my wife and I call each other. I went to the Verizon store (not where I bought it), and they denied there was any problem and sent me away. I am running Android Jellybean (4.1.1). On my old Sprint phone, this was never an issue, but background noise was horrible. With the RAZR M, there is no background noise, but no clarity either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Defy is denied application on the market with no reason that I understand. Some apps are not visible from the phone, and are said "non compatible" from the market website. Sometime the website talks of country restriction while they should not be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly. This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file. After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy LG G3 has been acting up lately. I can't hear a thing through the earpiece when I'm making and receiving calls. Call quality is okay because I can hear clearly if I put it on speakerphone. I don't know if this is a software issue or hardware. I'm afraid that when my phone is heating, the earpiece is getting damaged or something.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI asked for an answer in one of the older threads a pretty long time, but didn't get a reply. I also searched through some other discussions, but couldn't find a definite solution. My problem is the infamous "echoing" during calls. Specifically, people who call me hear an echo during phone calls. Somebody told me that it almost sounds like they're on speaker phone. It's a real pain in the **bleep**, because things often have to be repeated a number of times in order for it to be understood. So have can I fix this? I'm using the 034.001 software version.

Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
I purchased an iPhone 4S in October and loved it. Unfortunately, I had a persistent issue. Whoever is on the other side often reported hearing a loud chirping or screeching sound during calls. It happened frequently, too -- on about half the calls I made. Apple replaced the phone for me Tuesday, but the replacement model is doing the same thing. Is this a known issue?
