The phone reboots on few occasions at random While in the middle of conversation, Access internet/data through mobile service provider, Present in an area with very low signal strength. I changes the sim card twice with different service providers but the issue is not resolved. None of the sim cards I used are marked with N5 or N3 or such tech details.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI ordered an extended life battery for my Defy, 3500mah battery that came with a new battery cover. after I installed it, I noticed that every time I connect the usb cable, the phone reboots! I tried connecting the phone first instead of having the charger pluged into the wall and still, it reboots every time! if I leave it connected and let it reboot, it will power up again and go on to charge. also the usb still works to connect with my pc, but again I have to wait till it reboots!

I get a few words in then it cuts out and I have to ring again and it does the same thing. This is the first smartphone I bought. Previously I used a bog standard Nokia. Very reliable. No problems. Clear calls. Never cut-out. Now I pay 20 times as much for a "smart" phone and the most basic and important job - making calls - it has trouble with.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I've had this phone for about 5,6 months with different problems over the course of my time with the phone.Was wondering if anyone has had the same problems and if there are any solutions. So first, sometimes my phone will randomly delete contacts from my phone and place them in the "hidden" folder. I haven't hidden them, but I've gotten text from people and be unsure who it is,but then find out it is someone that I know and who has been in my phone.Also, since my contacts are synced with facebook,it will randomly delete the FB picture to my contact so instead of it showing their default picture on facebook in my contacts, it just shows the blank face. In the past it has deleted the picture and will eventually come back after a coule of days or weeks but currently it has deleted multiple of my contacts pictures and has yet to come back. I dont know if I am accidentally hitting something or if there is a way to prevent this but it is aggravating. Also, sometimes if I go to send a text message, say for instance to Sally Sue,I'll click Sally Sue, send the text but then in my messaging folder it does not show the name "Sally Sue" nor does it show their picture, but just the phone number alone as if I texted someone who was not inputed in my contact list.It eventually goes back to showing the name but it still annoying nonetheless.The last issue is with the gps sattelite that will not shut off and for whatever reason prevents me to use facebook on my phone.I've read that this has been an issue with others in the past and tried some of the suggestions people offered.I have uninstalled FB, reinstalled in, callibrated my phone, taken out the battery, turn on/off, etc and nothing works.Under settings in the securty tab, it is always checked next to GPS Satellites on. I will uncheck it, but it never stays that way, it will always go back to being checked and I can never use my FB app as it will open for like 2 seconds then cut out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
I just upgraded my x8 to the 2.1 version. After the upgrade im experiencing reboots a lot of times. What can I do?

Sometimes goes a couple of days without problem, sometimes it restarts couple of times a day. This mornig, for example, I was using Maps and Public Transport apps to find my way to work. When I got to office, I put the phone avay for a few minutes and during that time it had restared itself, while being in my pocket and screen lock on. All I managed to see was the white dot animation, which is shown at early stages of the startup, followed by home screen icons loading one by one.Device had and still has no third party apps or background services running. In fact, only apps I had used recently were offical release versions made by Nokia and downloaded from Nokia Store.Nokia should really get their act together and improve software quality of the both firmware and utilites running on top of it.
View 19 Replies View RelatedOk so basically, I have owned this phone since new, it's never been Jailbroken and the only "modification" that has ever been done is I've had the back glass replaced with a custom one I had made up.
The last 3 months or so, the phone during standard use tends to just reboot, the screen goes black, I get the little spinny wheel then it will either turn back onto the lock screen and behave, or it will continually do this.
I've also noticed that if it does automatically go back to the lock screen, some apps do not re-open, even after they have been closed properly from the home bar, they open then just close almost instantly which forces me to reboot the phone.
The worst case scenario is I have to do a full reboot - hold down home and power buttons till the screen goes black, then turn it back on, this can take upto 10 minutes sometimes which in my experiance is rather long..

Tried a few searches, but didn't find anything specific to the subject.Received my Lumia 920 last night, and since then it has either hung or rebooted randomly over a dozen times. It seems to happen mostly when navigating through screens or accessing apps. It will sit and stream music from the Nokia Music service fine... I have to perform a reset to recover the phone when it hangs.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am on my 2nd blackberry 9700 bold on tmboile and have the same issue where it randomly reboots during the day. I don't have any third party apps and have wiped and reinstalled operating system and tried reinstalling the bbm messenger. I primarily use the blackberry group chat on bbm messenger during the day for the phone and am not sure if thats causing the issue because other members of the bbm group chat are not having any issues. The network is 3G for tmobile in chicago, so I doubt if coverage is issue.

It happens suddenly while texting, using BBM or WhatsApp and sometimes after a phone call, it even reboots when I am not using it at all (during the night when I'm asleep).

I tried running diagnostics but it's a crapshoot. Sometimes I will get a neverending loading loop and sometimes I'll get a error message, "Unfortunately Diagnostics has stopped." and then the phone will reboot iself.

Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
