My Motorola Defy display's the camera upside down on screen... I have tried everything to try and fix this including going to the cellphone store I got it from and they did a hardware reset on it to no avail

I have a motorola i1 and use it for work. There are times when I need to take a picture and send it out through email, however upon opening the camera today I find that the view finder and the pictures it takes are upside down. All menus and overlays are in their correct position and right side up. I can't find any settings that would reverse this effect, and what's more is I don't really see that much about it on the web. This is a new problem that I've only just encounted, the phone was not always like this. I really don't want to go back to the sprint store again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a brand new phone after my screen broke and I filed a warranty claim through Asurion. With my new phone when i take pictures, sometimes they show up upside down. Not always but more often than not. My original phone never did this. Its pretty annoying to have to go back to the photo afterwards almost every time and edit and rotate it. I know the RAZR has the feature to show pics right side up no matter how you take the pic holding the phone but I guess somewhere in mine the calibration for this feature is off. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea how to re-calibrate it? Note: It doesn't matter how I hold the phone when it happens. No matter which way it is on the screen at the time, it flips it upside down after the pic shows up.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone since May with no issues. As of a few days ago, my camera app launches upside down. All the icons are upside down and if I take a photo it comes out upside down. If I turn the phone upside down, the app will flip right side up. I can then flip it back and its fine.
Also, if I'm reading something in chrome and it flips to horizontal mode it won't flip back to vertical. The same trick of flipping upside down works or I have to close and reopen the app.
I have restarted and checked the auto rotate setting. I have not tried factory reset yet but may try that. I have a Verizon phone so I can't get to the gyro calibration screen. Any other way to force a calibration?
So I'm on day three with my 950XL and there are two glaring issues that I'm struggling with. One is the camera app shows the menu and pictures taken completely upside down, I've tried soft and hard resets also the Windows device tool with no change.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just replaced the screen on my g4 with a screen I got from futuresupplier.com in china.
After powering up the rear camera is no longer working. The front camera does however it saves the pictures upside down. In snapchat the pic saves correct but in the camera app it saves them upside down. Why is this? Could this be a screen issue?
It may be possible the rear camera was damaged but unlikely. this phone was very easy to work on. Is there anything I can do?
Just loaded 2.2.2 onto my Singapore region Defy. The OS upgrades are fantastic! My default camera now has a repositionable focus box!
Only problem is that it does not focus at all! Moving the box around does absolutely nothing! Additionally, if I use the flash, it just takes a all black photo!?
I just installed the update on my phone and now the camera is not working correctly. It will takes a photo but the photo will not show up on the screen - it's just black. The camcorder function works fine.

After last upgrade to 2.2.2 I see the following problem: when flash is triggered while taking a photo the result is a completely black picture; when no flash is used photo is fine. I have rebooted the phone but it does not help.

My question is that is it normal to hear such sound or something is worng with my camera hardware. This sound is coming siince I have purchased the mobile, but never took it serously though I am afraid now if its a hardware problem.Also is there any way to improve the image quality, I can see that the by default Android camera app store all the images with 90% quality, can we make it 100%.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy camera and camcorder don't work, I take a photo with the camera and it does all the right things but does not save the image, the camcorder pushes you out of the camcorder screen when you push the record button and back to the home screen, I have tried to clear the Cache data under phone settings. If I turn the phone off and on again it works fine for a little bit but I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to take a photo or movie.

One thing that bugs me is when i take images with my camera now, they don't appear in the gallery. The small diplay on the bottom left displays the image but as soon as i click on it to view the image it appears to delete it.
I got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

Pretty soon I noticed that I couldn't access the camera.It just gave the error message in the subject.Only way to get rid of it was to turn the phone off and back on.Unfortunately it just kept doing it. I would estimate the camera died always within 30 mins from the reboot.Eventually I had some time to think about it yesterday and found out other people having similar issue after installing some apps which need the camera. Then I remembered that one of the software I updated on Friday was Skype so I decided to uninstall it. Since that the camera hasn't died at once.

It seems most if not all of the pictures I take with my phone and then send using MMS or e-mail are received by recipients upside down. But when I send them they appear right side up. Is it the direction I'm holding the phone when I take the pictures? Do the control buttons on the phone have to be in one particular direction?
