Motorola Defy :: Changing Scenes Mode On Camera?
Jun 10, 2011Since updating to 2.2 the scenes and flash on my camera are disabled. Is there a way to correct this that anyone knows of.

Aug 11, 2012How can I select highest resolution on automatic mode and scenes mode? It looks like some inportant function is missing. The creative mode is really hard to use. I perfer automatic and scenes mode which is easiler for me but I want it to be the best resolution is there any way because I couldn't find the setting?

Aug 12, 2015I don't know if any of you noticed that when entering the Camera app. The display will change to a different display mode even though you are not on "Adaptive display mode"
It happens in a split second upon launching the camera app and upon exiting, you will notice it reverts back to the current display mode you are using. In my case Basic.
I also noticed this only during my recent update to OG8 firmware (Stagefright) update... not sure if it does it before also.

Apr 27, 2011I have to recharge the mobile once in 24 hours. It is also not stable and it varies as I will use my phone light to moderate.in the night when i turn on the flight mode it decreases by 10%.When I do not turn on the flight ode it decreases by 12%I am using Eclair in Moto Defy with Motoblur in India.As per the update site it says that Q2 2011. Is it possible to provide a tentative month will be great to move to Froyo.

May 30, 2011Just loaded 2.2.2 onto my Singapore region Defy. The OS upgrades are fantastic! My default camera now has a repositionable focus box!
Only problem is that it does not focus at all! Moving the box around does absolutely nothing! Additionally, if I use the flash, it just takes a all black photo!?

Nov 11, 2011(very low) noise similar to a rotating motor. It seems its the camera motor noice. My question is that is it normal to hear such sound or something is worng with my camera hardware. Nov 13, 2011My camera and camcorder don't work, I take a photo with the camera and it does all the right things but does not save the image, the camcorder pushes you out of the camcorder screen when you push the record button and back to the home screen, I have tried to clear the Cache data under phone settings. If I turn the phone off and on again it works fine for a little bit but I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to take a photo or movie.

May 12, 2011I recently upgraded my defy (with optus) to android 2.2 and haven't had many issues.
One thing that bugs me is when i take images with my camera now, they don't appear in the gallery. The small diplay on the bottom left displays the image but as soon as i click on it to view the image it appears to delete it.

Jul 7, 2011I got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.

Sep 4, 2011I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.

Jun 21, 2011Today may be the first time I attempted to transfer photos from my Atrix to the PC. I am running Windows 7 Pro-64bit. After connection via cable, I select USB Mass Storage for the USB connection. Windows throws up a box that asks "Do you want to scan and fix Removable Disk?" I select "continue without scanning. In Windows Explorer there appear to be far fewer folders on the card than when viewing in Astro, but I did not do an exhaustive check. Of immediate concern is that the Camera folder is not visible under DCIM, thus I can't retrieve my photos over the cable. Should I back up the card directly to the PC via microSD adapter then let Windows scan and fix next time over cable?

Pretty soon I noticed that I couldn't access the camera.It just gave the error message in the subject.Only way to get rid of it was to turn the phone off and back on.Unfortunately it just kept doing it. I would estimate the camera died always within 30 mins from the reboot.Eventually I had some time to think about it yesterday and found out other people having similar issue after installing some apps which need the camera. Then I remembered that one of the software I updated on Friday was Skype so I decided to uninstall it. Since that the camera hasn't died at once.
