Motorola Atrix :: Impossible To Downgrade To Froyo
Sep 12, 2011
Let me know what they tell you. They told me it's "Impossible to downgrade to froyo."I say we pick one day and call on that day. Then they will have to agree it's a trend.
since at&t started pushing gingrbread updates, many users have posted their issues with gingerbread. I have downloaded the updated but fortunatelly (?) have't installed it. I am perfetly hapy with my standard, non-rooted atrix with 2.2 the way it is, no bugs, no issues. However, I am also for the latest and greatest. So, before I install the update i would like to know if there is any way for downgrading back to froyo just in case GB gives me any trouble.
Have been trying for days. Talked to Motorola. Useless. Everytime I try to install, no matter who's computer I use, I always get the same error: "Failed to uninstall previous Motorola Software Update". This error occurs almost instantly when I double click on the installation file. I have tried it with the phone plugged in via USB and without. I have tried it from my desktop, and from my laptop. Same result. Motorola told me to download it to my phone. That didn't work either. It must be something to do with the phone, but I can't figure out what. The phone currently has 2.1 update 1.
once in a blue moon, i'll go to the marketplace to update my apps and instead of showing me my 80+ apps, it only shows three. it will show: Internet, streetview for google maps, and google maps. obviously my apps are still installed because when i search for a specific app that i know needed an update (ex: facebook) it shows there's an update. generally it will fix itself by either a reboot or having to unistall marketplace updates and wait for it reupdate itself.
When i go to recent calls in the calling menu instead of saying what time the call was made or recieved it simply says roughly how long ago it was made.. this is annoying.
Ok so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail. My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?
The update is great, but if we make a list of all bug and glitches that we find, it might help Motorola to fix these issues!I donīt have MotoBlur on my phone. Only the launcher.
I was wondering if there was a way to revert back to the Froyo color scheme?. I not really happy with the white background/black writing...of the lastest gingerbread colours
I'd much prefer the old black background/white writing
On skype u cannot use front facing camera which sucks! Does anyone know wen the next update will be that will fix of this junk I don't like spending 300 dollars on something that barely works
After i upgraded to FroYo, my camera no longer does the auto focus. The image will be blurred. When i press the soft key on the cam screen, it starts focussing and get a clear picture. Also there is a delay bet image capture and flash.
Upgraded the update and the home screen and the icons in the bottom for Menu, Dialler, Contacts did not change. why is that so? when I saw the Android Users guide on Google for 2.2 it has changed from eclair,
How to change it to Froyo from the screen itself they are saying that you are running Eclair Not froyo. After upgrading to Froyo the battery is not so good. How to calibrate the battery
Is there any way for this (or) i have to do a discharge and charge the battery a couple of times. Now also My battery goes from 20% to 70% when i switch on the phone.
After the update i want to restore to its original settings but when i press those buttons (power + volume down) it shows an android and ! which suppose to bring me in an options when i press the lower left of the screen but not, it doesn't work anymore
this week i updated my defy with froyo through local service center Nothing seems to be fine in Froyo! Here some of my issues list after update to froyo
1.)Unable to turn on data connections.(resolved after hard reset)
I've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
I updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
I found my xoom honeycomb market is different than my smartphone motorola milestone (froyo)for exam:on milestone market I cant found app Skype, but on Xoom I can found app Skype on xoom I cant found Yahoo messenger, on milestone I can found Yahoo messenger why or because I live in Indonesia so different market?
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.
I absolutely HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Ice Cream Sandwich. I see no reason why Motorola can't allow the older and better GB OS to be reinstalled. In my opinion you have ruined my very expensive phone by providing this "upgrade". It seems completely arbitrary on Motorola's part that this is not possible. I find ICS's UI so disagreeable I do not think that it is possible to "fix" it. I dislike the entire philosophy behind its design. I use my phone primarily to read email and make phone calls. ICS has made both of these things more difficult to do,
Ever since updating to 5.9.902 I've been having trouble with wifi showing full strength but only loading websites when it wants to. The reason I know it has something to do with the update is me and my wife both have DROID bionics and I updated about 1 week before she did, and that's when I started having wifi problems. Her phone was still working great, until she updated and that's when her phone started doing the same thing. We have tried 8 different hotspots and still have the same problems. I have also been dropping calls with in the first 10 seconds or so of the call, then call back from same exact spot and talk for 20 minutes with no problems. Verizon customer support said they don't know of this issue, so the lady on the phone connected to the wifi at the call center and had the same issues as me. She said she would have to create a ticket for Motorola to make a fix.
My Motorola Atrix or Computer has a Problem install the ADB Interface so there for my phone wont connect to my Computer.I have a windows 7 32-bit operating system.I have tried installing Drivers Manualy, tried using the PDAnet Solution, tried unistalling all USB Ports, tried applications to help.
Will the Lapdock (and other accessories for that matter) work for the new Atrix 2 coming? I've only used the Lapdock lightly and it will be a real shame if it and the other accessories I've purchased over the past year won't work with the 2nd gen Atrix.
I recently had to get a replacement Atrix through AT&T after my original one shattered. I had insurance and AT&T provided me a refurbished one through their insurance program. My question is, will I still be able to get all future updates on this phone or is there something I need to do?
GSMArena is reporting froyo is out as of the 25th, but i have not seen that anywhere else.Has anyone with a non rooted nexus and not a developer gotten the update yet?
