View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a relatively new Incredible owner. I came from an Eris which was a nice enough phone but it was stuck with a hopelessly slow processor. As we all know, the Incredible came with 2.1. Any word on when we'll be getting Froyo? And I hope it's not as buggy as the 1.6->2.1 OTA update for the Eris! That was a nightmare. Almost everyone who did the OTA upgrade with the Eris had some kind of problem. Maybe the Eris' processor wasn't really up to the 2.1 software.I don't know, but it was a complete disaster. Here's hoping that the 2.1->2.2 update is glitch-free.
View 2 Replies View Relatedso i did the update from modaco and wow, thing is blazing fast, scored 38 on linpack, installed flash from market, www.Internet.com works www.addictinggames.com works, and everything else.it auto detected my telus apn and worked hspa+ right away with no configuring needed only problem ive run into sofar is browser only works on wifi for me, cant figure that one out.but wow! i love the speed of my n1 now!
fixed my browser problem for all telus n1 owners doing this update. after flash, go to settings->wireless/networks->mobile networks->access point names click on the telus one, go down to under proxy put 80 for your port then mms proxy=74.49.0.18 , mms port=80 and it should refresh and work perfectly!
edit: another thing, sending links from google chrome to your phone works on froyo !
Think of buying a used Droid Eris in top condition, so that I can use a well known Verizon MVNO.
Of course I'm not trying to compare the Eris with an iPhone in terms of syncing up with a Mac .... but as far as a touch screen device, typing / touching accuracy, user interface experience .....
How does the Eris with 2.1 / 2.2 compare to the iPhone 3Gs? Since I'm going to be paying for a non-Contract phone -- the Eris is the only one I am considering.
Im tired of my 2.2 and I want to try something new. I'm a newbie so is there anyway I can get a new ROM or something? Also I live in the US and I've tried to update to 2.3 but it gives me a model id error
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave been trying for days. Talked to Motorola. Useless. Everytime I try to install, no matter who's computer I use, I always get the same error: "Failed to uninstall previous Motorola Software Update". This error occurs almost instantly when I double click on the installation file. I have tried it with the phone plugged in via USB and without. I have tried it from my desktop, and from my laptop. Same result. Motorola told me to download it to my phone. That didn't work either. It must be something to do with the phone, but I can't figure out what. The phone currently has 2.1 update 1.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI swear before Froyo I was able to turn the volume switch down to where the second to last setting had vibrate + no sound and the last setting had no sound + no vibrate. Now it appears there is no way to have both of those settings easily available. Has anyone else noticed this?
View 4 Replies View Relatedonce in a blue moon, i'll go to the marketplace to update my apps and instead of showing me my 80+ apps, it only shows three. it will show: Internet, streetview for google maps, and google maps. obviously my apps are still installed because when i search for a specific app that i know needed an update (ex: facebook) it shows there's an update. generally it will fix itself by either a reboot or having to unistall marketplace updates and wait for it reupdate itself.
View 4 Replies View Relatedsince at&t started pushing gingrbread updates, many users have posted their issues with gingerbread. I have downloaded the updated but fortunatelly (?) have't installed it. I am perfetly hapy with my standard, non-rooted atrix with 2.2 the way it is, no bugs, no issues. However, I am also for the latest and greatest. So, before I install the update i would like to know if there is any way for downgrading back to froyo just in case GB gives me any trouble.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLet me know what they tell you. They told me it's "Impossible to downgrade to froyo."I say we pick one day and call on that day. Then they will have to agree it's a trend.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCheck XDA devs forum to see how, don't think I can post a link to the thread in here since it is not official.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got the Acclaim and there's a few questions I have. Is there a not a "device LED" on this phone? How do I get to my files on the device through my computer? Is there a stable version of Froyo that will work on it? I think that's about it right now.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOk so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail. My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe update is great, but if we make a list of all bug and glitches that we find, it might help Motorola to fix these issues!I donīt have MotoBlur on my phone. Only the launcher.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to revert back to the Froyo color scheme?. I not really happy with the white background/black writing...of the lastest gingerbread colours
I'd much prefer the old black background/white writing

View 4 Replies View Relatedthis week i updated my defy with froyo through local service center Nothing seems to be fine in Froyo! Here some of my issues list after update to froyo
1.)Unable to turn on data connections.(resolved after hard reset)
2.)Battery drains quickly.
3.)Heats up rapidly.
4.)Freezes often.
5.)No 720p video recording.
6.)Will reboot often if connected to PC.
I've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
I updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
