I'm having a major problem. Ever since upgrading to Android 2.3 (currently 2.3.6) none of my market camera apps are able to silence the shutter noise. This is extremely frustrating and forces me to use the motorola app which offers less control and produces lower quality photos. Any idea how to fix this? It appears to be a problem specifically with the implementation of Android on the Atrix.

I don't want to silence the whole phone, just that annoying sound. Even the ability to change it to something more pleasant would be an improvement. If Blur won't allow this, is there something in the Market that would accomplish the same thing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe ICS update installed flawlessly and was working without issue until last night. I noticed that my personally assigned ringtones and notifications were suddenly gone. I went through the tedious process of reassigning all the sounds again and all was good, until I plugged the phone into the USB port on my pc to charge. I'm aware the SD card is not identifiable when plugged in, so I thought to move my personalized sound app back to the phone, but after again reassigning the sounds, they get "lost" when I plug the cable into the USB port. This seems to happen randomly, because overnight, my sounds were "lost" and the phone was only plugged in to a wall charger. I Googled and it appears the problem did occur on other phones when they received the ICS update

Turning this thing on / off, or even launching apps (especially games) is impossible to do in any scenario when you can't make any noise since there's no way to be sure it's not going to start making noise.For example ...you're sitting in a meeting, you need to turn on your phone (or reboot or whatever) so you cleverly do so without anyone noticing, but the Atrix rewards you with a power-beep plus notification tones for the internal and SD storage.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a W995 and I am trying to turn off the shutter sounds for the camera. I know many people with SE phones and they all tell me the same thing. You can turn them off in the settings for the camera. On my W995 there is no option for the shutter sounds to be off there is only 4 sounds to choose from. I am sure that there should be a fifth option for off but its not there. How do i turn them off? I got 10 days cooling off period on my contract and this, along with a day of wifi problems, will mean the phone will be going back if there is no resolution for it.

The major problem I have is that China appears to block the installation of Android Market on phones and it is replaced with some crappy alternative which doesn't have many mainstream apps. So my question is, how can I install Android Market on my Atrix?Also - whilst I changed the language settings to English, many of the installed software is still in Chinese - for example maps, and Moto Navi gives instructions in Chinese too. View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the recent update to Market I lose my data connection every time I go to "My Apps" to check for updates. The H+, up/down arrows and signal bars on the notification bar change color from blue-green to black and the data connection is broken. Other apps say "no network connection." Cycling power corrects. Have not experienced this problem with WiFi (only one attempt to date).

However, it is listed as running when you select "Manage Apps." Doing a force stop, then rebooting unit does not restore the icon, even though it is listed as launch by default. Technically, app is "Phone", version 4.0.4-67.21.125. How can I restore it? (Workaround - select People, then small icon phone/dialpad.)

I was wondering were the file is stored. Neither the internal memory or SD card appear to have used up any space after the download. I know it downloaded, because my data counter widget indicates over 1.5 GB downloaded by the video app to view the movie. (I bought an extra SD card for the purpose of downloading movies so to not take up space.)

An intolerably long shutter lag. So long that I have yet to be able to take a descent picture of any living thing. No living thing will remain still long enough for the camera to actually take a picture. Every picture has a blurred object.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI got my Razr Maxx on 6/21 and everything worked great on GB. I took the ICS update Saturday night and thus far, have only found one issue that I can't seem to resolve. Since the update, I no longer have camera shutter sounds. While this may not be a real major issue, I do like to have the feature available especially when taking pictures outdoors in the sunlight when the screen is harder to see. Shutter sound is enabled in the stock camera app.
All phone volumes are set to maximum and as far as I know, all other audio actions are working as they should (ringtones, alarms, media, voice and all system sounds). I've tried the typical power cycle, soft reboot, cache partition wipe, cleared data and cache in the stock camera app. I've tried other 3rd party camera apps and also don't have any shutter sounds in those apps either with shutter sound feature enabled. I've uninstalled any other apps that I can think of that might have contradictory volume settings and started up in Safe Mode and still no camera shutter sounds.
Any way to turn off the camera/video shutter sound?

According to the Sprint User guide, there should be a Shutter Tone setting to turn shutter sound on or off.
I got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded ringtones from crackberry a couple hours ago and now my ringers won't work and when I try to play ringtones in the media application it won't let me play them. I tried going through the profiles to make sure they weren't muted or off and nothing is working. I had the exact same problem less than 24 hours ago and the cell phone place just gave me a new phone because they couldn't figure it out either. If I could get some kind of direction as to what I need to do I would appreciate it greatly.
