everytime i turn the phone on, the wallpaper loads and non of the icons or anything else loads and i get this error "Sorry! The application Home (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."after i click foreclose, a couple seconds later the same message comes up over and over again. the lock screen still works, the top bar still pulls down, the apps that start at boot still work and i can still access some of my messages when i pull down the drop box.if i get into an app it works fine untill i click home or back and i keep getting this error message not allowing me to use my phone. havent installed anything new recently.
I have had my Atrix for about 4 months now, dealing with freezed and random shut-offs. Today, though, my phone has been continuously restarting all day. I just picked my phone up, tried to unlock it, and it immediately popped up with google framework errors, bluetooth errors, and others that go away too fast for me to even see them. After a while, my phone will automatically restart itself, and continues having the same errors.
Today my atrix started force closing anything I try to access a contact. I took the extreme step to completed hard reset the phone with no extra apps installed still craches. The guilt party, of course, is motoblur.
The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...sigh...Another vote for ditch motoblur account requirements.
I have a Atrix 4G. After updating a few apps such as G+, Foursquare, and couple others, phone basically does not work. Freezes up, apps freeze up and I get message "Activity Home (in application home) is not responding". Even when I slide to unlock the phone it freeze on the slider and home screen does not open.
My Atrix 2 (on AT&T) operating system was upgraded to 2.3.6 this morning and since then it has been continuously rebooting (going off then on again) every few minutes. I have removed the battery and replaced it. It still did it. I have NOT done a HARD reboot.
I am also getting the "Process system is not responding" error message and a blue bar that says that it is having trouble connecting to the network.
UPDATE:
After hours of rebooting, (I had it charging throughout the time) it has stopped and is acting "normally". I am worried that it will start again and I don't have a fix.
Here I am, 2 weeks later and it started continuously rebooting again. No new updates, no new apps, no new anything. What I did notice was that the battery was below 20%. I have plugged it in and will wait to see if it stops by itself again. The fix described below is requiring too much from a non-technical. I do not have Motoblur. My calendar and contacts are backed up to my gmail account and LOOKOUT.
It continued to reboot for over a day. I went to the AT&T store. They gave me a new phone!
After creating a hotmail account, leave out of email app and go to the home screen. Find phone settings/accounts/hotmail/other settings and you should see a option that say's, delete messages older than:, tap on this and a box drops down, choose to never delete messages and click on ok. A force close error will appear. When you manage to get back to home screen, the email icon doesn't open and show any emails from the hotmail account. You have to reboot the phone.
I bought the defy recently, and it is getting heat after continuous use of more than five minutes. If I play any games or if i am in call for more than 10 minutes or even if I charge the mobile my phone is getting heat.
I will set it in the cradle and it will begin the power up process and turns off several times before the status bar completes its update. At times, I am able to get it turned and it will work as intended but after a while it says that the battery is critically low and I need to plug the device in. I have it in the cradle, and the car charger utility plug is plugged in and is displaying a green light indicating power. The MotoNav is acting as if it is not receiving power from the cigarette lighter/utility port. When I undock the MotoNav from the cradle I no longer get the message...that the device is in pedestrian mode and on battery power, do you wish to turn off the device?...the MotoNav just immediately turns off.
Unfortunately i deleted yahoo.contacts 2.3.5 and yahoo.mail.authenticator 2.3.5 like an idiot and now everytime i open my contacts and click to open someones name it force closes everytime it was a very dumb mistake and i seriously need this fixed where i can redownload these two apps cause ive been trying to find them
Why does my browser keep force closing. It doesnt happen all the time but when it does, its so annoying because it doesnt show the last page I was on, ughhhhhh its so annoying.
I have a Cliq Xt and it reboots. I have read many forums and do not see a clear answer. Will rooting the phone and upgrading to gingerbread solve the problem?
i keep having problems on my RAZR with my connected music player and also the other music player apps. the connected mmusic player keeps freezing and closing and takes at minimum 3 tries to get an artist selected an then takes some time to bring up albums or songs, other times does not even bring up the albums or songs. other times it will just start flashing and then the whole home screen and any other screens keep flashing.
I'm used to a Windows based environment on my desktop and laptop so perhaps I'm not using the correct terminology here. What I'm finding is that when I'm using my XOOM, all the applications I've opened during the session are still open and are just minimized at the bottom of the screen.
I just received my Xoom wi-fi only and while setting it up I received the 3.1 update, which I installed. I had not added any files to my Xoom yet but while I started playing some of the music files that came with the Xoom, the player force closed while I was browsing the music files. It does not close while playing music but only while browsing the music that came with the Xoom. I then added music to the music folder from my PC and it still force closes while browsing my music files. This happends all the time after I play a few music files. I have the music player 3.0 version. A reboot does not help, it does it every time I use the player. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions are welcome. If I install another music player app. will it recognize my music already in my Xoom? And any recommendations on another player? I'm tired of the force closing of the Music player that came with the Xoom.
I have had too many problems with thsi phone and I'm starting to think it wasn't worth the $300. First of all the Android MArket force closes on me every time I go to the Just In game section. Another problem I've had is freezing, it freezes way too often. The biggest problem is the freaking resetting, my phone just resets for no reason, I'm just browsing through the internet or playing a game and suddenly the phone vibrates and turns off for example and then it turns on again and let's be serious the phone takes a long time to turn on, I have had this happen to me 5 times in the last 3 days and it is really annoying. Also wanted to know if this phone will ever be upgraded again to a newer version of android. I just have to know Motorola are you planning on fixing any of these problems, because this product is very, well how can I put it, horrible. I'm hoping you guys do something about all these bugs because most of us payed $300 for a crap phone taht rarely gets any updates. Just truly disappointing. Also forgot to add, will thsi phone ever be able to install apps/ save them on SD because the internal memory is too low and fills up to fast and I can't find any option enabling me to save my apps to my SD card.
I'm used to working in a Windows based environment so I might not be using the proper terminology here. When I'm done working with an application on my XOOM it appears that the app is minimized but not closed. How can I do that?
No matter if I've just rebooted my xoom or if It's been on for a while, whenever I decide to suft the web using the stock browser I have the ability to for maybe 5-10 minutes and then it will just randomly crash and I have to open it again. I'm not doing anything that could be considered memory or processor intensive.
I am running completly stock DX2, 2.3.4 version. regular wallpaper not live, 90mb of free ram when problem is happening,1.6gb free atorage in application storage, 4.06gb internal storage availible , 14.28gb availible on my sd card(16gb), 53 apps installed, version 3.1.5 of the app market.
The problem I started having a few days ago is my dx2 is very slow after using an app for more than 10 min and then backing out or closing the app it shows my home page all blank except for the black square app draw button and the wallpapper. Then in about 4-5 sec the entire home page shows as normal. This has never happened before the last few days. Have had the dx2 for 2 months now.
I have not installed anytihng new the last few days. I use the stock task manager since day one to kill all downloaded apps I dont need running. I was part of the soak test and this is the first real problem I have had. I did not do a factory reset before or after the new gb update. I was thinking of doing one now but it seems to never work no matter what problems I have had in the past with my DX I had previous.
I have the Wifi only Xoom. I can open the android Market but when I go to my installed applications the Market force closes everytime. I have tried clearing the cache, clearing data, and force stopping the application and still no luck. I went as far as doing a factory reset and I still am unable to view installed applications.
Had a quick reboot occur spontaneously. Since then the LED is steady green. When the phone sleeps it's still there but dim. When turned on it comes back on full brightness. How to rid this short of a full shutdown / restart?
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.
So I started to notice this in my picture gallery. When I open it to look at a photo and then close the app, re-opening the app brings me right back to the last photo I was looking at. On my Razr M if you closed the gallery and open it again you are back on the folders screen. Now with the turbo I have to hit back a few times to get where I want to be. The same goes with my emails and text messages. If I text someone and close, instead of getting the whole list when I re-open messaging it starts off on the last person I was talking to.
Today I tried to look for something in my Gallery - it keeps force closing. I tried powering the phone off and on and also did a battery pull, it still does not work. I can get into the folder where I have taken pictures via the camera, but can't access anything else.
Starting Sunday evening Tweetdeck kept force-closing on me before I could make a post. I was still able to use Twitter's official mobile app & Facebook's official mobile app. By 5pm last night (Monday/Halloween) NONE of the social network apps were working. This included Tweetdeck, Twitter official, Facebook official, Hoot Suite, Google+, AND even when I accessed Twitter's normal site via browser. I've turned the phone on & off several times and that hasn't done anything.
Maybe this has been asked but is their a way to allow continuous looping of the home screens? Like when you are on the home screen you can swipe to the right to get to your last home screen vs only to the left. Also can you just only swipe one open app to delete under resent apps or can you delete all at once.
I own a Mercedes 2008 E350 with ViseeO MB2 bluetooth adaptor. I can pair and connect my wife's Samsung Galaxy phone and use the Mercedes hands free system to make and receive phone calls. However my Defy pairs Ok but does not connect continuously. It will occasionally connect when I force it but it only stays connected for a few seconds. The Defy is running 2.2OS. The MB2 supplier in Australia and manufacturer in Taiwan both state that the MB2 has been previously tested with a Defy and works OK.
I got the Bionic on the launch date, but hadn't gotten around to testing the camcorder capabilities. I tested it last night and was a bit annoyed by the autofocus. I tried shooting the inside of my bedroom, but the autofocus kept engaging every 2 seconds. In effect, it made the whole video choppy as the screen zoomed in and out slightly every couple of seconds. To verify, I held the camcorder as straight as possible and focused on a plain white wall (so it wasn't an issue of excessive movement on the screen). I recorded in both 720p and 1080p using the default camcorder settings (no flash, no color effects).
I was using the stock camcorder app and have not installed any 3rd party apps for the camera or camcorder. The room was lit with artificial lights and was neither overly bright no overly dark. I am going to test it again outside in the sun to see if the same thing happens. Is this something that you are seeing as well, and could there be a fix? I still have about 10 more days to return this phone, and of all the seemingly "little" things that bug me about this phone (screen, battery life while idle, poor picture quality), this one is probably going to bug me the most.
I've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
