i've bought a non-Moto headset with remote control to test if it works with my Atrix. Some buttons work but not as they are labeled... I wonder if anybody knows which resistivities applied to the 4pin connector pins correspond to which command in the phone.

I bought a 32GB MicroSD card, so that I wouldn't have to worry about storage issues, but that turned out to be a negative. All the applications I've installed; Evernote, GoogleDoc, Dropbox, etc (Which I use EVERY App Daily for work) are storing downloaded/cached files to the internal phone memory instead of the MicroSD. I ever tried moving the Applications to the MicroSD, but they still continue to use the Internal Memory.

I've had the same headset paired to a Razr v3xx whereupon I was able to hear my various ringtones I had set for certain contacts so I could tell as to whether or not I needed to answer right away or not without having to look at my phone. I liked the fact that I was able to hear these tones in my headset as well as the phones speaker. Now don't even try to pass this off as the headsets' software, as I ever had changed anything until I paired with my new Atrix. my thoughts are that this is a softwarwe engineers code changes for this particular phone

View 10 Replies View RelatedHave a Atrix HD, about 6 months old. Today I went to make a call using a headset plugged into the headset jack, and nothing happened. The headset was not recgonized and all sound continued to come out the 'speaker'. (Either in "loud" speaker mode, or normal mode.) Tried another headset, same problem. Researched and went through the "check for debris and clean the jack" process with no improvement. Contacted Motorola support and they ended up offering to have it shipped to service center for repair/replace, but that means 7+ days without the phone. So I thought I'd check and see if anyone else has had such a problem.
Anyone else ever have headset jack "failure" like this on an Atrix unit? Oh, it also fails with a music player, or any other sound source, so it appears to be a general unit failure, not specific to any one app/function. I looked all over for some kind of setting to enable/disable the jack, but found nothing of use.
Is there such a thing available for current Asha and Lumia models? Just like the Apple - In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic for iPod and iPhone. I know, I know, the Nokias are wired differently so the Iphone Headset will not work(?). But I still need the fast forward and rewind buttons to conveniently listen to audio books.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCurve 8900 (TIM) OS: 5.0.0.461.Yesterday I connected my device to the computer and upgraded the software to version 5.0.0.461 via Blackberry desktop manager. I can't remember witch OS version the device had before.
After the update, i'm having two problems:
1.- When connected to my Dell BH200 bluetooth headset it no longer recognizes the A/V Remote control functions. With the previous software version, when the headset connected, it recognized: Handsfree, Stereo audio and A/V Remote control (witch allowed me to change songs and pause/resume play using the headset buttons). With the new version, it only recognizes the first two (even though in the device properties screen appear as services: Handsfree, Headset, A/V Remote control and Audio sink) . I use my device to listen to music, so having to take it out everytime i want to change a song instead of just using the headset buttons bugs me. Trying to solve this problem, i have deleted the headset from my bluetooth device list, and then paired it again (several times). I have also reseted the headset, and the device but nothing works. Any ideas on how i can get the device to recognize A/V Remote control functions again?
2.- After the upgrade, the block screen button on top of the device no longer works. Also, putting the device into the holster no longer blocks the device. Is this function disabled in new version?

Essentially what i'm trying to achieve is to be able to use Google voice commands from my Bose in-ear headphones while the phone is locked/sleeping.
When on my way to and from work, I always have my headphones in and am listening to music. Answering calls is a breeze, simply tap the button on my inline mic and the call is answered. To make a call however, I need to take the phone out of my pocket, unlock the phone (using password) and then either use Google voice to place the call (but since i've made it this far and the phone is in my hand i usually just find the contact and make the call using my fingers). It would be ideal if I could simply activate the Google voice functions without taking the phone out of my pocket, unlocking, and then use the voice functionality to do a search or make a call.
Currently when I hold down the button on my headphones and the phone is locked I get the message "to do a Google voice search, please unlock your phone".
Ideally the functionality would be acessible without having to unlock the phone. Is there a setting I can change to add this? Are there specific headphones that alow this? Can I verbally give my password to unlock the phone and then use the voice functionality?
The whole goal here is to not have to take the phone out of my pocket and manually enter my password.

A friend of mine sent me an email in Gmail with inline pictures, the pictures are displayed perfectly in my nexus 7 (2013, non rooted gmail 4.8 (1167183)) and desktop automatically when i open the email. This not happens in my Nexus 5 mobile. They only displayed as an empty line square with a small icon at the center. In order to view the pictures i have to download and save them one by one to Nexus 5 (or upload and save to Gdrive) and open the jpg file(s). The is no "show image" button.
The setting "Data Usage/Images" (at the bottom of the screen) is already set to "Always show" and the box for "Auto fit messages" is checked in "Settings/General Settings" in the default gmail account. Also "auto download attachments" is set.
I have Nexus 6 with latest Lollipop (5.1.1) running.I have tried many email clients (Gmail, Nine, Blue, Aqua, etc. and found no way to insert photos inline into an email. Only as an attachment.I would love to be proven wrong here, because I want this to work, but the fact that you can't do this is INSANE. iPhone? Easy to do... Long press, "Insert Photo", pick the photo (or take a photo). Done.
Android? Nope, can't do it. Can't even copy a photo into the clipboard from Photos, or any other photo viewer. Best you can do is sometimes copy an image from a webpage and past it inline using Nine Exchange client.This is the type of thing that keeps Android always second best, never quite able to be equal with iOS for usability.
Our company purchased 12 Nokia E71 phones and they are using exchange for e-mails. What is happening is that our new company e-mail signature now includes our logo, our group logo and 6 small boxes which are hyperlinked to redirect back to our corporate site when clicked on. I have brought the overall signature as far down as 120kbs which is fine for a desktop email client, but when staff are using their phone to open up an internal e-mail which contains the signature, the phone hangs for about 1min with a progress bar that simply states "opening". This is a concern for the company as it would mean higher data charges for field users.
I assumed that the phone only read e-mails in plain text, but appears to be downloading the whole message (I think). When I open the test email and see the message details on the phone...the Nokia says 24kb. am I right in thinking that the phone is not in fact downloading the full message but only the text portion which is 24kb's??
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.

As such, I didn't pay it much mind. However, I found someone in another forum talk about how good it is for streaming video over your local wifi network, so I thought I'd give it a shot. The results are actually quite fantastic, especially for a 5 dollar app. It does quite a good job as a remote desktop app, but it also transcodes video and audio to stream in very good quality to the Xoom. I have streamed 1080p movies, Netflix, etc, all to my Xoom with no delay or noticable drop in quality or video/audio sync. Note: this only works on your local WiFi network, but it's ideal for watching videos from your PC in bed.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.

And even more has anyone who uses any of these seen if they can handle running your games properly from a remote location? I ask because I think it would be fun to be able to run some of my Steam games over a buddy's house on my Xoom without having to pack up my laptop but I am not sure if the programs can keep up.
