I upgraded from a 822 to Icon, and the only complaint i have is how i get facebook messages through the default text/message app.
On the 822 it would be almost instantaneous, maybe 1 minute max after getting it on my desktop browser. Now i will usually get them hours upwards of 12, later.
A hard reset (remove the battery while the BB is on) seems to have worked. I say seemed since it has been reported on this board that it may return when the "service books" are updated...I'm new to BBs. I just purchased it today and against my better judgment installed FAcebook (FB). After getting a deluge of mindless drivel pushed to my new BB I decided FB was not coming near my BB again.So I found the icon - menu - delete. I restart the BB as instructed and to my surprise the icon is still there.I tried to move the icon into a folder but I don't know how to move it because the menu button does nothing when I select the icon and press menu.
And there are some FB messages too. I deleted the FB messages - when I check my messages it reports I have no messages in FB ... BUT there is a little FB icon at the top of the screen showing one message. This one message seems to be relic but I have no idea how to reset or delete it.I also tried the BB desktop software. It shows that it is uninstalled. There appears to be no way of deleting icon, moving the icon, or deleting the FB message indicator either.
I wiped my icon today. I'm on 8.1 dev. I can't get fb to sync information with my contacts. I've tried both apps.

The post is set to "private" so that no one but me can see it. I can find no way to edit this in the app so I have to go to a computer and open Facebook in a browser to fix it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Nokia Lumia Icon as an upgrade for my very well used HTC Trophy. I was able to use the 'Transfer My Data' app to move my contacts over, but the app was only able to copy my oldest 500 text messages over.
Is there any other way to transfer all text messages over, or for the 'Transfer My Data' app to transfer the newest 500 rather than the oldest 500? I'm on Verizon if that makes any difference.
I started with an intermittent text receiving issue a couple of days ago. Text will work fine, then they stop. After the that the only way to get them working again is a reboot. Called VZW, they ran tests on their side, etc. I'm thinking this is on the phone side.
This morning, the text app is giving me the "resuming" msg. and also started crashing. Also some other apps are crashing like looking at pictures.
Seems like a hard reset is needed here? I'm out of town, won't be back for 2 weeks. Need the phone to work, so if I hard reset, will I be in a need of a wifi to get the phone operational again?
Been pretty happy with the ICON. Noticed a problem with sending group messages to Sprint Android users from Verizon ICON. They are getting a blank group message. Tried an Android on ATT and it worked. My friend tried it from is WP on Verizon and he gets the same results. Tried to talk to VZW and "We'll look into this" and now its marked as resolved but the same issue exists.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Sprint and everytime I miss a call the Messages icon appears and does not disappear until I open the messages folder and open the missed call message. This is incredibly annoying for me, as I usually just press the send key and see what calls I have missed. Doing this does not clear the messages icon or notification.
I really dont need missed calls sent to Messages, the only reason I ever use the Messages folder is to clear the icon from my screen.Can anyone help me either disable this icon or alter what is sent to Messages?
I'm migrating from an iPhone 4 (iOS 6) to the Icon and tried without much success to transfer text messages to my new phone. I was able to transfer contacts successfully... and the Text Message option does appear when I pair my iPhone, but is says "0 Found," quite the contrary from what is actually on the phone. Since it seems like the transfer app wants to work, any trick to make it happen.

View 1 Replies View Related1st- When I want to use the facebook through the Facebook Icon (Application) of my BB Curve 9380 phone, sometimes it will be connected and after a few seconds it will cut off. but when i use the browser button to use facebook, it will never cut off. Now, what i want is to fix that application, since i want to use that application compare than using the browser button. My Wife has a BB Torch and we can't find the 'Places' icon on the ribbon/banner of the Facebook app. I pressed the menu button and check options but there was nothing in there. I tried to check for Face updates but it was check off to check automatically. GPS location is enabled in system properties.
