When I first got my 950 I was elated finding VoiceType and I loved using it in Messaging and OneNote.
After a day or two it was gone, along with the microphone symbol.
BTW, always a Nokia lover, after my great 925 I find the 950 SUPERB Well Done MS !!!!
There used to be a microphone for voice typing in stock keyboard and now its gone.

I have not got it running with sim on my carrier yet, but just after setting it up and exploring everything......I am missing the always there voice to text ability in the keyboard that my Moto G and Nexus 7 tablet have.
Though I do get the voice icon with a few app's keyboard....I am wondering if there is an add on for the stock keyboard for the Icon and Denim? I really miss the vastly implemented voice to text on my other android devices.

When i was on WP8, i had issues with voice recording in whats app, the output on it is noise.
Having issues with call quality on the 1020? I picked mine up yesterday. When I call some people they say I am coming in crystal clear, others say I am fading in and out. On my end, I get a weird feedback/static at end of people's words/sentences and it seems to be picking up background noise over the person's words. Very frustrating because there is NOTHING else wrong with this phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a BlackBerry Z30 to the unlocked Lumia 950 Dual-SIM. I have been slowly moving things over and so far it has been working out OK until last night. That's when I tried to pair my 950 with my 2010 Toyota Prius. No matter what I do, it only reports "Connected Voice" but no music.
I was able to Bluetooth connect and stream music on my Z30, Z10, and my wife's iPhone 4 and 6, so I don't think this is an issue with my car. I looked around online and in the forums and saw others reporting issues with 8.1 and a couple with 10, but there really wasn't a fix that I could see that applied to my situation.
I got a new Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon Wireless contract. I installed skype and when trying to make International Voice calls, all I see the blue backgroud with Skype call outgoing icon and then nothing happens. Sometimes, the call gets active as in it shows the seconds counter of the call,but nobody can here anything on either side of the call. I do have some credit balance in my Skype account.
I tried re-installing the app but to no avail.
Previously, I had an Android device and when I tried to make same International mobile calls now in it, I am able to connect and talk without any issues. I also chatted with an Skype support team and they also couldn't get much. They said that I am reporting such type of issue for first time and told that one of their tech specialist will get in touch with me once they have completely assessed the issue.
Lumia just stats listening for voice commands on its own? I can't even put in my pin without it interrupting me after the second digit. It started happening after I hard test the phone. I have 8.1.
