I am new to windows phone although i have been watching it for a while now, and i am very excited and pleased with my new lumia 1020. one question i have is, is there any way to make artist cover art be your lock screen while music is playing? I can't seem to make this feature happen.
View 1 RepliesI know you can do this with smart pairing of Bluetooth devices but I was hoping to be able to do the same for when I'm playing music through my car's auxiliary jack / over the phone's speakers. I've done a fair bit of googling but haven't found a solution. I use llama app on my phone to trigger events and have tried setting a trigger using the music app to trigger the screen lock to disable but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's feasible to somehow trigger screen lock to be disabled when a music app is active?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.

The phone itself is great, However after going through setting im trying to setup the Facebook lock screen I have gone through the options opened the app and selected how I want it to look but when I lock the phone and open it all I get is a blue screen with the Facebook logo Date and time no picture from Facebook, just a blank blue screen .

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo the other day my lock button stopped locking my phone. However if I hold it down it will still let me turn it off (by dragging down), but then it turns on again. I can't unlock it by double tapping the screen either. When I plug it in to my computer it isn't recognized by the "windows phone app" for desktop, but it turns the screen on so I can use it for a bit. I can't turn it off and then plug it in because it always turns back on, and sometimes I can't regular turn it off, I have to hold the down volume button and the lock button to hard restart it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI switched from Samsung. There is a function with Samsung customized version of Android that when I play video full screen and hit on/off button, the screen is locked but video keeps playing. That is a really useful function.

We have 3 Ray phones in our family. I have upgraded my to ICS, but the other two still have the original android OS - GB. Problems that we experience on all three phones are as follows; If I look at the video file and turn the phone 90 degrees (it does not matter if I turn it left or right), then screen lock lock the screen immediately. I can not unlock the phone as long as the phone is in the same position. I have to turn it back 90 degrees for it to go to unlock it. The same happens even if I want to play games and have to turn my phone 90 degrees, or if I want to photograph or record a film. If I do not turn my phone 90 degrees, then everything works as it should, but it is supposed to be able to rotate the phone, depending on what you do without screen lock locks my phone immediately?
View 7 Replies View Relatedlast night a friend came around mine so i thought i would use have laptop whilst he had it with him to get some up to date music. i simply plugged my usb in and then dragged and dropped some of his music into the music file on the phone. all looked so simple to me. there were some messages that came up regarding some of the files not working but my friend said he got those messages when he transferred to his itunes also.
when i go to play these songs i can barely hear them at all but i can play Internet videos with volume fine, i can play things within the nokia music mix thing, i can hear my system sounds, i can hear my ringtone. i have tried the basic obvious things of looking at settings on my phone etc but the fact that all other music works has made me assume it's not a settings issue on my phone.
only other thing i have since tried is transferring from my phone to my fiancees laptop, deleting all the songs from the phone and then i put an album back on. no luck, didn't work. really gutted at the moment, just got this phone and love it but i will be gutted if there is some sort of weird restrictions causing me to not just take music from a pc.
Possible to lock an iPhone 5s screen whilst playing a video synced from iTunes? I can get the screen to lock and show the video and a play-button, same as with the iPod app in lock-screen, however, I can't get the vid to actually play. I read an old post here that the video file needs to be defined as 'Video Clip' rather than 'Movie' in iTunes, but I'm not sure how to do this or if this advice is even valid still.

But when I do that the Music app automatically starts and plays music. I can turn it off (using the Stop the Music app), but it comes back on after a few seconds. View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem while playing music that is stored on the device in my collection (not streaming). I try to play a song and it says "opening". Then the song comes in and out sporadically for a couple of seconds. Then it stops for about two minutes and then plays again for a few seconds. Sometimes it plays fine, but I notice that when I am at the health club, the problem always occurs. Could it be a connection issue even if the music is stored locally and not being streamed?

Anyways, music randomly stops playing and I can't seem to get it back to playing if I don't restart THE WHOLE PHONE. It's very annoying and no this is not an Xbox Music issue since I've tried MixRadio, the Hub Tile and other third party players and this is still happening. Whatever skipping of songs I do it still won't play. Songs are switching but it's stuck on the 'pause' button but it's not playing.. No sounds, time is not running. REALLY annoying.
Every couple of days, my phone will just start playing music on speaker by its own.

I tried a soft reset, hard reset, took it to the AT&T store cause the windows phone rep said its hardware but when I got to the AT&T store they showed me on their 1020's in store and also their demo ones they use that the music app did the same thing.
I loved my Lumia 1020 but could not get music to play via Bluetooth in either of my cars no matter what I tried. It says it connects fine for phone and music and I can receive calls, I can hear and dictate texts, but when it comes to music the phone plays one song for 1 second and then continually loops trying to play the song but only ever makes it 1 second. In the Toyota, it also doesn't send any song information. I have unlinked bluetooth, relinked it, reset the phone, disconnected voice and left music, and had no luck.
My cars are a 2011 Tundra Platinum and 2013 Infiniti JX. I've also read some people had the same issue with Audi and Lexus.
Additionally, both of my cars have USB jacks to interface and play music through with the Navigation/sound system directly and that doesn't work either. The cars completely don't recognize it. Androids and iPhones all work flawlessly.
I honestly had become a big Lumia 1020/WP8 fan and love what Nokia offers in software. I actually really like the WP8 interface as well but not having Bluetooth connectivity to my vehicles (for both voice and music streaming) is a deal-breaker.
After being a huge advocate for Windows Phone I'm just about done with it after moving from WP7.5 and Zune to WP8.I can't sync anything using Windows Media Player. I put stuff in the sync list and it looks like it syncs then I check the sync status and everything has "error" in the status and nothing has copied. Doesn't matter if it's songs I own or subscription - nothing syncs through media player. I think I did get it to sync to my wife's 620.
According to MSFT this will not let me sync Zune subscription which is another issue I have - and the biggest issue is that I can't sync playlists period. They show up with 0 songs when I sync using the Windows Phone App. But I was hoping using Media Player might solve that but it's not working.I'm using WIndows 7 on my PC. I'm a long time Zune user/promoter. Right now I can't get music on my phone in any reasonable fashion.
I am trying to delete a song off my xbox music library, and every time i try i hit delete, it says loading for a min then closes the app. after that, cannot open the app again, so i reboot and same process all over again. should i soft reset it?

However, I have some music I bought from the Microsoft store which now can't play. It states I should check my xbox music subscription but I don't have one and have never needed one. I bought the album and downloaded it, I'm not streaming from xbox music.
I don't want to pay for xbox music when I bought the music. I'm not streaming it so I don't see why I have to pay twice.
