I don't want to turn off notifications for new emails (I use the stock app), just the audible tone...it it possible to silence the tone but still get the notification on top of the screen icon?

This is getting very annoying. I've been able to silence Notifications in email, and some other apps.
But there seems no way to silence Notifications in the general menu. That is, Notifications in Settings. "Silent" is not a choice.

I am trying to silence two of the three email accounts I have linked to my phone and can't seem to find a way. I can silence all or none? I would be shocked if there was no solution to this problem?

I want to stop the phone from making a noise every time I get an email. But I don't want to silence it completely (I still want it to ring when I get a call).

I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.

I started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.

I have 2 email accounts on my Blackberry. I would like to recieve notifications from one, but not the other.i.e. Have one with the usual "1 new message" icon, but would like the other to either be automatically read or just not be notified of their presence, even if unread.

I sined up for this forum last night and ever since my inbox has been clogged up with message notifications. How do I turn them off?
I went to "Your Stuff" "Preferences" and unticked all the notifications and pressed save but I get an error message when I try to save my preferences. THEY WON'T TURN OFF!

When I turn my phone on after it has been asleep, sometimes, I have two email notifications at the top left part. One is a gmail envelope, the other is plain. When I swipe down to get all notifications, there are two separate notifications. Clicking one takes me to my regular GMail inbox, the other to something that approximates it. Anyway to just get one and if so, Id prefer the Gmail one.

I noticed that text messages send toast notifications when there is a new message on the top or the screen. It's there a similar function for email? I believe email has all the same options as text in the notifications settings.

Is there any way to delete email from the pull down notifications or do I have to always go into my email app to do so? I can see how it wouldn't work when you have multiple emails and you can't see what you're swiping away but for some individual notifications it would be handy.

I have a Galaxy S5 on Verizon. I currently use the gmail app for my personal email and the email service on the phone for my work email. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off notifications for the work email. They show up in both the status bar and as the number of emails I have on the email icon. I have tried going to settings through the email app itself, and I think I have unchecked everything there. I have also tried going through application manager. When I go through the application manager, there is a box to check that says "show notifications", but it's checked and will not let me UNcheck it.

Over the last 2 or 3 days, I've stopped receiving notifications of new email when my phone is locked. I've been on the most recent OS for a while and have not changed any settings. Everything is switched on in notifications for the messages to flash up but they do not?
When I receive an email I still get the familiar bing, but no visual?

I have an E5-00 and would like to get notifications on all my email accounts. It appears that only the two email accounts set up on your home screen will actually set tone, vibrate and envelope icon alerts when receiving new email. The advertising blurb for the E5 states 10 email accounts can be set up on this phone with push notifications. What is the point in having push enabled accounts for 10 mailboxes if only two will give phone notifications?

i just got the curve 9300 and before had the curve 8520 and the flashing LED is so dim i can barely see it on my new one! i have the phone on silent at work and use the LED to tell when i have a notification and i cant even see it in daylight hardly. is there any way to make the red light flash up brighter like on the older model? my sister has the new bold and hers is fine and bright. Ive got the free bebuzz app and even when i select my fave contact as BRIGHT pink it is still really dim light.
Also i have my hotmail account set up on my bb. When i get a new email the notification icon appears at the top but i cant view the email in my hotmail box only if i go into the "messages" icon. this isnt how it was before either!

since getting a second hand X10 mini pro a few days ago I have found many answers to the queries I had with the phone. I have it working very well now.
However, despite turning off all the email notifications in preferences (and saving) and getting the green box message that all preferences have been saved, I am still getting notifications of all threads in this section in my email inbox (and some in the spam box).

Just picked up the M8 and I'm super pleased with just about everything on the phone with the exception of a few things. One of the few things that bugs me about this phone is that I'm constantly missing texts, and e-mail notifications if the phone is in my pocket.
On my old phones, I'd rely on vibration to let me know when I receive incoming texts, or notifications, and on the M8 it seems theres only a single option to enable vibration and not anywhere to intensify, or even change the vibration patterns when receiving texts or other notifications.
Is there anything built into the phone that can intensify the vibration or possibly make it vibrate for a longer duration? I'd hate to download a third party app just to do this, but if thats my only option then I'll be happy to do so.
