BB Bold :: Turn Off SOME Email Notifications?
Dec 23, 2011I have 2 email accounts on my Blackberry. I would like to recieve notifications from one, but not the other.i.e. Have one with the usual "1 new message" icon, but would like the other to either be automatically read or just not be notified of their presence, even if unread.

Jun 22, 2011I get constant email, and would prefer to have my blackberry set so I don't see any notification icons visually for facebook and email. Currently, I have to click 'mark prior unopened' in order to erase the yellow mail icon with the red star -- so that the icon doesn't show up in the status bar.
I'd prefer to not see this notification at all. Same with facebook notifications. Haven't found the settings for these.
Is there any way to set the Bold 9700 so I don't see any visual notifications for email?

Nov 26, 2011I have a question and I hope I will explain it correctly. When I send an email from my personal Blackberry email to an email that is not a "Blackberry" email (just a regular email address), sometimes I get an "R" next to the email that the email was read. Sometimes I do not get an "R"...I get nothing, but I know the email was read because I do get a response anyhow.
My question is.....When I do receive the "R", does that mean the person read my email directly ON their Blackberry and when I don't get the "R", it is read on their computer instead? Or is it vice versa? I hope I explained my question well enough.

May 29, 2014I started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.

Jul 22, 2014When I turn my phone on after it has been asleep, sometimes, I have two email notifications at the top left part. One is a gmail envelope, the other is plain. When I swipe down to get all notifications, there are two separate notifications. Clicking one takes me to my regular GMail inbox, the other to something that approximates it. Anyway to just get one and if so, Id prefer the Gmail one.

May 7, 2014I have a Galaxy S5 on Verizon. I currently use the gmail app for my personal email and the email service on the phone for my work email. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off notifications for the work email. They show up in both the status bar and as the number of emails I have on the email icon. I have tried going to settings through the email app itself, and I think I have unchecked everything there. I have also tried going through application manager. When I go through the application manager, there is a box to check that says "show notifications", but it's checked and will not let me UNcheck it.

It appears that only the two email accounts set up on your home screen will actually set tone, vibrate and envelope icon alerts when receiving new email.The advertising blurb for the E5 states 10 email accounts can be set up on this phone with push notifications. What is the point in having push enabled accounts for 10 mailboxes if only two will give phone notifications?

May 23, 2011i just got the curve 9300 and before had the curve 8520 and the flashing LED is so dim i can barely see it on my new one! i have the phone on silent at work and use the LED to tell when i have a notification and i cant even see it in daylight hardly. is there any way to make the red light flash up brighter like on the older model? my sister has the new bold and hers is fine and bright. Ive got the free bebuzz app and even when i select my fave contact as BRIGHT pink it is still really dim light.
Also i have my hotmail account set up on my bb. When i get a new email the notification icon appears at the top but i cant view the email in my hotmail box only if i go into the "messages" icon. this isnt how it was before either!

However, despite turning off all the email notifications in preferences (and saving) and getting the green box message that all preferences have been saved, I am still getting notifications of all threads in this section in my email inbox (and some in the spam box).

Jul 7, 2014Just picked up the M8 and I'm super pleased with just about everything on the phone with the exception of a few things. One of the few things that bugs me about this phone is that I'm constantly missing texts, and e-mail notifications if the phone is in my pocket.
On my old phones, I'd rely on vibration to let me know when I receive incoming texts, or notifications, and on the M8 it seems theres only a single option to enable vibration and not anywhere to intensify, or even change the vibration patterns when receiving texts or other notifications.
Is there anything built into the phone that can intensify the vibration or possibly make it vibrate for a longer duration? I'd hate to download a third party app just to do this, but if thats my only option then I'll be happy to do so.

Jan 19, 2016I have been given a lumia 950 at work but used to have an android based phone. I have configured my work email and can see the inbox and all other folders as I should.
The problem then starts here, on my desktop outlook I have email rules that move new emails from certain people into relevant folders for them but on the lumia I only see a notification saying there is new email in the inbox and not for the other folders I have. On the android I used to have this would show all new emails on one screen even if they were in another folder.
How can I be notified of new emails arriving into other folders within my mailbox or have them showing up on the first screen like the android or otherwise the phone will be unusable as I will miss too many important work emails because they don't show me notifications that they have arrived.

Dec 30, 2015I don't know if I am missing a setting but many times I will have no email notification and there are new unread emails in the gmail app. I have exchange and gmail addresses setup and I think it happens with all of them or it is just the exchange emails.I went into all the gmail email settings and selected notification for every email and not just once, the exchange emails do not have this option. I also have vibrate selected but I feel no vibration when they come in. I put the gmail app on priority notification but that didn't work

Jul 7, 2015I noticed this the other day that my Yahoo app randomly stopped receiving notifications. I never changed anything email or sync related for a long time so it makes this harder to solve. I dont even remember having sync on ever for my Yahoo emails (maybe this sounds stupid and it was on the whole time but I cant remember). Anyway I tried deleting the accounts and re-adding, using the default email app and adding the same accounts, clearing app date/caches, re-installing Yahoo app, clearing cache partition, and turning all the syncs on/off and playing with those settings. What I did notice was a suspicious log in a few days ago from out of state which I am not sure is part of this or not, but it was on android supposedly, I changed my PW just to be sure.
