Why am I getting two notifications for the same email? Also when I click on an email icon that has a number next to it I get into one client, but if I drop notification bar down and choose the email notification I am getting into another client and that's the one I actually prefer.
View 4 RepliesI know there's a setting for overall LED notifications but I'd like to set a different color based on the notification type. Especially for the two email accounts I am using, something like green for work email and red for personal email.
Is this possible without a separate app? If not, what app do you recommend? I really don't need it for anything else other than that.
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI emailed myself some p12 certificate and key files and was having a problem installing some of them. I hooked up adb and saw the certificate installer getting an exception because of early end of file. After a bunch of debugging and testing I discovered that the email app seems to truncate binary attachments to a multiple of 3 bytes. So a 1 byte file becomes 0, a 4 byte file becomes 3 bytes, etc...
I'm on Verizon and running 5.0.2.
I recieved my 9650 this morning.I setup 2 email addresses (that actually were moved from my curve to my bold), and all of my emails are dumping into ONE folder i hate it. I liked on my curve how I had 2 distinct seperate email icons (boxes) that had work and personal.How do I setup my phone to have multiple icons for my multiple email accounts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 on Verizon. I currently use the gmail app for my personal email and the email service on the phone for my work email. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off notifications for the work email. They show up in both the status bar and as the number of emails I have on the email icon. I have tried going to settings through the email app itself, and I think I have unchecked everything there. I have also tried going through application manager. When I go through the application manager, there is a box to check that says "show notifications", but it's checked and will not let me UNcheck it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed this the other day that my Yahoo app randomly stopped receiving notifications. I never changed anything email or sync related for a long time so it makes this harder to solve. I dont even remember having sync on ever for my Yahoo emails (maybe this sounds stupid and it was on the whole time but I cant remember). Anyway I tried deleting the accounts and re-adding, using the default email app and adding the same accounts, clearing app date/caches, re-installing Yahoo app, clearing cache partition, and turning all the syncs on/off and playing with those settings. What I did notice was a suspicious log in a few days ago from out of state which I am not sure is part of this or not, but it was on android supposedly, I changed my PW just to be sure.

Whenever he gets an email come through there is a little popup that comes from behind his contacts icon on the main screen. This does not happen with my phone (I do not want it to and neither does he). I have compared settings in both phones and it looks to be the same. How to stop it?

I already recieve a sound, and a pop up of the email, and there is an indicator of new email on my email icon on the home screen, so I don't need yet another notification.
Same situation with text messages. I would just like to disable the notifications that appear below the notification panel.
I certainly didn't change anything today - but after booting up as I usually do every morning, I am FINALLY getting email notification & my email is being pushed to my phone when it is sleeping !! This issue has been going on (for me) for over a month.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI factory reset the phone after i used odin to flash factory rom. Installed latest ATT update. Setup google account and again put the phone on wireless charger, after 10 mins of no activity send myself emails from different accounts from the PC and No email notifications at all with just Mobile Network only turned on. I tested this with wired charging and the result is the same.
Test condition:
1. Charge phone, wired or wireless, only turn on Mobile network, no wifi!!!
2. Leave the phone untouched and idle for 10+ mins
3. during this time no txt or phone calls otherwise it will reset the sleep flag
4. after 10+ mins of no activity send yourself emails from a desktop or another phone. You should in theory get notifications but I'm willing to be you will not.
Experiencing multiple notifications from Google Now of the exact same thing repeatedly ? I'll clearly it then 5 secs later it'll appear again, I don't know if it's a bug or the notification app I'm using.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Microsoft Exchange with Active Sync through my email provider, Intermedia. The sync has been erratic at best. I have put all of the email settings to Auto; however, most of the time it only syncs when I push the email icon. I've tried calling Samsung and AT&T - even had a remote session with AT&T. They could find nothing set up improperly. I've deleted and re-installed the email app a few times. I got it to work over the weekend, but yesterday, it stopped syncing again. I would even delete specific emails from the phone and a few minutes later, they would show up as unread.
I've called my email provider and went through troubleshooting with them, to no avail. Everything was setup properly. I've wiped the system cache a few times. I just tried the following: deleted the exchange email setup from the phone (again for the 3rd time); went into application manager and cleared the data from every "email" app that was in there (email - there were two, email synch, email storage, etc). Then I shut down the phone and did another wipe of the system cache. Then I installed the email app again.
Now it seems to be working. I'm just afraid that, after a period of time, it will stop working. My 14 day period ends on Thursday. I'm thinking about exchanging this phone for another S6. However, what if it happens on that phone. I've asked AT&T and Samsung if they have any information in their database regarding this issue and they both said no. I even tried to use the Microsoft Outlook app. But it doesn't appear to be able to work with Active Sync (I can't put my email server parameters in there).
I have a Galaxy S5, don't get me wrong I like it apart from, when I receive an email notification from my Outlook App (because exchange wont work on this phone at all but did on my Galaxy S4), it plays my ringtone for my phone.
I have been in every imaginable setting going, and my notification alerts are set to beep, which it works for messenger, but any emails that come into my Outlook App and a notifcation pops up on my main screen it rings! I then think its an incoming call and it isnt, it will only stop when a screen swipe and clear.
I have a few questions: what sort of email client does the N97 mini come with? Does it connect to email servers via IMAP idle? More specifically:
1) if I delete an email from my Nokia, will it be deleted from the server, as well?
2) when I send an email from my Nokia, is it possible to upload that email to the 'Sent' folder of my email server?
My email server supports POP, IMAP and IMAP idle - it's not an Exchange server. With the E71, the only way I found to do the two things above was with Profimail, which is a great software but doesn't integrate in the home screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have purchased E72 on or around 15th Jan., 2010 from one of the Nokia Dealers in Indraprasth Shopping Center, Borivali, Mumbai. I found one man in his shop wearing a Nokia Shirt and after I bought this mobile, he set up the e-mail configuration using his sim card as his was of Airtel and Mine was MTNL. After that day I stayed in Mumbai for only 2 days and never used any of the email services. When I reached my office overseas, I tried to access the emails on my phone but it would hang and I would have to restart it again. Thinking there is a virus, I downloaded the F-secure Anti-virus from the Ovi Store. But it became worse. It stopped the Java applications on the phone.So, I uninstalled the Anti Virus and tried the email. But in vain.Then I was asked by one of the engineers at my service provider to remove the mailboxes and re-configure them. I did remove the mailboxes and since then - now 3 months.I have not been able to configure my mailboxes on my E72 again.
I went to the Nokia Priority Dealer - Foneman in Mangal Kunj, S. V. Road, Borivali -W, and they failed to configure it and sent me for software upgrade to Nokia Care, Near Railway Station in Borivali - W.They upgraded the software as they claim and tried to configure my email IDs. But they have failed too.Yet when they open their IDs on my E72, they open.What is the problem and how can I sort it out.I want my Gmail and Yahoo IDs functioning on this device.Or else, this device is of no use to me.I am very much disappointed with the Nokia Service which I have received from the Priority Dealer and Nokia Care.Is it because I bought the phone from a dealer and not a Nokia Priority Shop?Those so called promoters at the Priority Shops are incompetent and in the process of configuring my mail IDs on my E72, he went and terminated my Ovi Mail ID. Now I have signed up with another ovi ID and it has started working on the E72.This means there is some technical problem which is stopping the configuration of the other email clients.
I'm a carpet cleaner. People send me emails and ask what will this or that cost. when I'm in the field I don't want to clack away a long response so I created three or four paragraphs telling about my services and send them in emails to my phone. right now they are residing in my messages folder on my desk top. I created a blank folder next to it called email messages. I want to put my info blurbs in there but don't know how to do it. then, when a prospect sends my bb a message saying how much do you charge, I can shoot them a paragraph about me and try to hook em.
can you give me a step by step how to do this? I have an 8530 curve.
I have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
I have two email addresses on my blackberry; a gmail and my blackberry.net push email that's forwarded from my corporate mail server.Because my company email and calendars are not synced, I use gmail calendar sync to match all my calendars.Is there a way to automatically assign an appointment request on my blackberry.net account to my gmail? Or, can I turn off my blackberry.net associated calendar?

What is this Exchange Activesync? It only allows me to have one single email account in my 808, and it ask for username and domain when I try to add an email account...it forces me to write something in one of those field to let me go on... I have Hotmail...and it do let me sync and find my hotmail account just with my address written with password...and if I write for ex. a "O" in the domain field...but why? And why does it onlt let me sync one account? In my old N8 I could synd how many emails accounts I wanted and I just needed to chooce which type of account I had for ex. Hotmail, Gmail or something else...and I could have two withdgets ontop of eachother with different email accont in them....how do I get that on this new 808??
Is there another program than the so called "Exchange Activesync" to down load and use...like the old N8īs email program. If I cant not have my two hotmails accounts synced in my 808 it is totally worseless for me!
I have a BB 9700 and its setup with an exchance email account, a gmail account and an ATT account for emails.
Currently, all 3 emails go to the main. Is there a way to stop this from happening as its far too many mails coming into 1 location.
