I am not really sure,but since I updated my LG G3to Android 5.0 my email nor my gmail is not being announced with a sound warning like it used to in KitKat on the Notification Board. All other type of notes come through with a sound but not my emails or gmails.
View 6 Repliesi went to account settings for my hotmail account, under "email notifications" i have the green check mark for it to notify me when an email arrives, however, every 5 mins it sends me a message saying there's a new email when there really isnt one.i have the "check email frequency" for every 5 mins so should i change that?

I have 3 email accounts that I synchronise with the email app. I use this app to have all my accounts in the same place, including my gmail account. The issue is that when I send an email, a copy of it is stored in the imap sent email folder of the account. Gmail do not recommend this practice because it saves all sent email by itself, and there for, if the client also saves a copy of the email, there is two copies stored. That's my problem. When using email app, I find in my email account twice the mail sent in the conversation. (How) can I configure the email app not to store the sent messages in the imap server ? I am running ICS official realease from sony (PC Companion) since yesterday.

From reading other posts, it seems messaging only notifies of incoming email for the first 2 accounts? Is this correct? Is there no way I can receive notification for my 3rd account as well? Is there no way I can add it to the home screen so I can see all 3 email accounts instead of 2 (I would like to remove, for example, the search option on the home screen and replace it with my 3rd email account)

I just received notice that I had five iphone apps (IOS 5.1, 4s) to update. When I checked to see what they were I found that I had never loaded the original apps and that they were apps with either languages or support sites in what appeared to me to be Korean, Vietnamese, Pakistani and other non-English languages. Where do you go to find out if apps are compatible and working? I have wasted a ton of time today messing around today with these and getting no results.
I "think" this is the trigger. When I'm on a call my phone will drop the connection to the car handsfree link and revert to the phone (you can still see the bluetooth icon lit) whenever I receive a notification for anything. If it's a text, email, or whatever the call will suddenly cut out go to the phone and then 10 seconds later or so reconnect to the car stereo.

Besides the SMS bug, the only thing that has bothered me is that my Gmail isn't receiving emails. I made sure I set up my account correctly and I even received a confirmation email, but two days after that and I have not received a single email. Ever since I have had this device my gmail account has been linked to the phone (i.e. when I receive a new email in my gmail inbox it shows up as a new message on my phone's screen). For the past 6-months I have had my Sprint service on standby mode because I have been away (standby mode means you pay $8.99/month to keep the account and phone # active but the service is turned off). When I turned my normal service back on my gmail account was no longer linked to my phone. At this point the only way I can access my gmail account from my phone is via the gmail icon on the home screen. What I am trying to do is get my gmail account linked back to my phone so I receive incoming emails on my phone just like I would an incoming text message. I also want to be able to compose and send a new emails from my home screen. Right now the only way to do this is via the gmail icon which is not what I want. At the present time if I try to compose an email from the message screen on my phone I receive the following message "No message services configured. You will only be able to Save Draft." I have tried taking the battery out of the phone and turning it back on and that does nothing. I have also created a BlackBerry email address thinking I could setup my gmail account to forward to the BlackBerry address but that is no working either because new emails to the BlackBerry address are not showing up as new messages on the phone either. I had this setup the way I wanted for years and it worked fine but ever since I turned the service back on from standby I cannot get it to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know if I am missing a setting but many times I will have no email notification and there are new unread emails in the gmail app. I have exchange and gmail addresses setup and I think it happens with all of them or it is just the exchange emails.I went into all the gmail email settings and selected notification for every email and not just once, the exchange emails do not have this option. I also have vibrate selected but I feel no vibration when they come in. I put the gmail app on priority notification but that didn't work

I did set up the same account using gmail and email, and it seemed redundant. While the message app and the universal inbox worked, I would get double icon notifications. So, is there any clear choice here, on the gmail app versus the email app?
