I have got a new phone and I would like to restore all the apps, music and photos etc from my old phone across to the new one. When I plug my new phone into itunes it doesn't seem to recognize the most recent back up but is finding one from October last year.

Out of nowhere my iphone is not being recognized by itunes but when it's connected it charges. Itunes does recognize my ipod so it can't be an issue with itunes or my usb cord right? I've tried resetting and restarting (I haven't restored) my iphone and its still not working. The iphone is jailbroken. So what do I do to fix this problem?

I just got a new macbook pro and I have mostly made it similar to my old mac (I did it manually cause I didn't want to copy every little thing from the old mac so I didn't use migration assistance except for the applications).Anyways, I even took my old itunes folder from my old computer and replaced it over the current itunes folder. So that made itunes show up exactly like it did on my old computer (kept my playlists that told me when I added a song).
Problem:
I just connected my iphone right now just to see what would happen (like would it wipe it clean, look at it as a guest iphone, be able to recognize it).Except, the iphone doesn't recognize it is plugged into a computer (it starts charging but doesn't say syncing or anything) and itunes acts like nothing got plugged in at all. They totally are not making any recognition that they are connected (The iphone is treating the laptop like a plug in the wall charger basically).
How do I get itunes to recognize there is an iphone connected to it?
I just want to add if it helps, I just tried my ipod (though I haven't synced the ipod in a while) and it recognizes it (and it does not recognize it as a new ipod but as what I named it and everything). And my old computer recognizes my iphone fine.

I had assumed i would be able to save/backup/restore the most important info on my cell like my text messages, phone contacts and ALL my photos in my photostream thru iTunes and NOT have to shell out $3.99US + taxes to be able to do so! The App Store has only 1 free app (out of a whopping 5) which, of course, i cannot use on my 6.1.6 iOS..
How can i backup my messages and contacts? How do I add more options from where I backup email contacts etc etc OTHER than just Microsoft programs? i.e. From Chrome or FireFox.
How do I save and access ALL my 600 pics from my phone when only 56 are listed to be able to be saved on iTunes? Would I be completely delusional to hope there is an app or software that could do a cross-platform transfer of my stuff to an Android phone....??Â

after googling possible solutions i followed Apple's support pages. I have restarted the phone, restarted iTunes multiple times in different orders. My phone is in recovery mode.I think my husband detached it from the USB when it was near the end of a big sync to answer a call. It was the first time I had plugged the phone into my PC to add all my music. I had the phone replaced at an Istore when I needed a new screen a few weeks ago. I've got a 16GB 3GS running iOS 4.0 and all of a sudden today the phone refuses to back up. iTunes is giving me the error "iTunes cannot back up the iphone because an error occurred."
It continues to sync after that and move apps and music around, but it won't back up. I tried again after that and it wouldn't sync calendars, contacts, notes, etc. Whats going on here?By the way this is on a Macbook with the newest updates for Snow Leapord and iTunes.
I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. i've been using HTC ONE. "ONE" of the best phone till date i've ever used. Am completely happy with the performance and looks. But from last week it stoped charging and even when i connect it to my mac itz not reading ! I havn't even dropped it even once ! The only time it getz charged is when the battery is completely drained off and wen the mobile goes off by itself. And that time when i keep it for charging, it gets charged but the red light (charging notification) keepz blinking instead of being stable. So for past few dayz i've been charging the phone this way and have to wait for the battery to drain off completely and then keep it for charging. But still the usb is not reading wen i connect it to my mac.

I tried a 3rd party music app, tried using media scanner apps, cleared cache for media storage, rebooted phone...no luck. Also tried HTC Sync Manager to copy the songs from there onto the phone and the songs still won't show up...s?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhile we were on vacation my brother in law upgraded to an iPhone 4 and I bought his old 3G and jailbroke it using Spirit. I also unlocked it to use on TMobile. Now that I'm home, I wanted to sync it or back it up so that I wouldn't lose apps and such. I don't have any music or videos on it but would like to do that eventually also.
1. I tried to sync some TV shows and it said that this iPhone was associated with another iTunes library so the sync would erase what was on the phone and replace it with what's on my Mac. My question here is, does it just erase things like videos and music, or will it also torch my apps and erase the jailbreak?
2. I notice when you right click the iPhone icon in the left side pane in iTunes there's a "Back up" option. Does that backup all of my apps to iTunes without erasing data on the phone or messing up the jailbreak?
