IPhone 5s :: IOS 8.1 Dictionary Not Working?
Dec 3, 2014After updating my phone to iOS 8, I needed to suddenly define a word. After typing and selecting the word in notes and selecting "define", I was given this message "No definitions found." Which was strange because before I update my phone I downloaded the English dictionary and the British English dictionary. After tapping the manage button, I saw that the two dictionaries were stuck on the blue downloading circle, at 0% and making no progress at all to download to 100%. The fact that I can't communicate with Apple about this (I'm not one for phone calls) or find the right option on the iPhone support page is bad. I need my dictionaries for school when a regular dictionary isn't available.

Recently I synched my phone with iTunes (admittedly for the first time in a while), and noticed that most of the epub books in ibooks on the phone were missing. On opening iTunes I found that a lot of the books were in iTunes, but that for some reason only a few of the books had been selected to sync. I selected all of them and solved that problem. However, there were one or two books which I had downloaded directly with my phone, which do not appear on the phone or my PC. How to recover them?

IPhone :: Cannot Download Apps, Music Or Books From The ITunes Store?
Mar 21, 2012Since I updated to 5.1 on my iPhone 3Gs, I keep getting problems with the updated OS. I can't download apps, music or books from the iTunes store, it's very hit and miss. It is pointless having a pin upon wake up of the phone as all you have to do to get past the pin is by swiping the camera button up to by-pass it. The battery life has dramatically dropped from lasting a couple of days with everyday use to around 9 hours. The signal from the network has dropped from 3 bars on 3G to 4 bars on GPRS, and finally apps keep crashing and exit themselves to the home screen.
I have rang my network (O2UK) and they have said that they have had serveral reports of Apple products having these bugs since the release of 5.1, and saying that nothing has changed in terms of te settings and masts near me, but they advised me to check my network settings and if they are different from what O2's website said (they were the same). So why are there so many bugs with 5.1? I can't download any apps at all and my battery is worse?

May 25, 2012I've recently purchased an iPhone 4s, 16GB model. Someone sent me 150 or so ebooks, all in PDF format, total size is fairly large at 3.7 Gig.
I've copied them across (using iTunes, latest version) and they view OK. However, when turning the page on ANY of the books, there is always a c. 5 second delay before the screen snaps into focus and the text becomes sharp enough to read.
Following the great look and feel I would like to buy an iPad but this is really putting me off. Someone suggested that the size might be too much for the device, so I deleted all but 1 of the pdf files, but it's still doing it.

Downloaded Kindle Books Lost From IPhone After Hard Reset

I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books. Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.Â
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?Â
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.Â

Sep 5, 2014As seen in the creenshot, the "British Englisg" dictionary is stuck on download. I forgot what happened, but I think safari crashed when the dictionary was downloading. When I re-launched safari and try to resume the download, there wasn't any way to do so, as it only shows an inactive download circle, which I cannot do anything about. I tried tapping on it but it doesn't respond. I tried resetting the keyboard dictionary in Settings, yet it's still the same. I tried restarting iPhone but the problem is still there. It looks so awkward lol I don't know what to do with/about it.
