I have a bunch of books in my kindle library and had downloaded a subset of them to my iphone in the kindle app.Â
I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books. Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.Â
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?Â
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.Â
I have a couple phones. Well, quite a few. It started when I could not download books to the Turbo. It just put an exclamation point in the title and says sorry, try again later. I try again later for several days, and nothing changes. On the other hand everything works fine on my other phones, and I can log into Amazon no problem. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kindle.
This is not a complete uninstall of course since Kindle is pre-installed and unless you root, you're stuck with it. But after I uninstalled the updates it still would not work. So I nuked from orbit by wiping the phone and reinstalling Kindle (well, updating the built-in version). Well, THAT changed it. Now it won't take the password. It allows me to CHANGE the password, and I did that. But even after changing it (successfully it said) and verifying that the new PW worked on another phone and on my laptop, it still won't take it. It says that username/password combination does not exist.
I am running the Kindle App on my Galaxy S5. Suddenly, today, books can be read only in landscape mode and will not rotate back to portrait. The app itself (screen showing available books) rotates fine, as does everything else. It's just that reading a book is locked in landscape mode.
Not sure what happened, but it was working fine the last time I tried it. I've been looking for an "unlock" item for reading in the app, but cannot find one.
How I get auto-rotate (or even manual rotate) back for reading a book?
I have downloaded several books from Amazon. They are stored "somewhere" on my zoom. How can I find them? Once I am reading a book that I have downloaded my xoom saves the page where I stopped last but! When I have finished a book and am ready to go to the storage "place" on my xoom where all my Kindle downloads are listed - how do I get there?
I bought a book using "My eBooks" that came pre loaded on the Xoom. I just downloaded "Kindle" app from the market. Is there a way to transfer the book over to kindle? (The book is "Motorola Xoom for Dummies").
After arriving back from holiday, I synced my iphone as normal to transfer the recent pictures I'd taken (on the phone) to my PC. The sync was interrupted and now none of the pictures exist - they must be stored somewhere; does anyone know how I can retrieve these pictures?
I see that there is a Kindle app for the Iphone. Being a book worm I first was jumping for joy. I thought that books were going to be really cheap since they don't have to print anything. I was thinking new releases maybe $2.99 and old books $1. Boy was I wrong.
So am I looking at the Kindle books correctly as far as price? They seem just a little cheaper but not that much cheaper than real books.
my Kindle app won't work on my Torch. I've deleted and re-downloaded it multiple times, but the same thing happens. I can log in, see my library of books, but when I try to click on a book to download it, the wheel spins infinitely (I've let it go for up to an hour) and the book never appears. In other words, I can see my library of books but cannot read any of them. Amazon has been helpful but they determined it wasn't their problem-- seems like somebody going haywire either with my BB, or RIM is blocking the Kindle app for some reason.
Whenever I check for update I'm told there is an update for the Kindle app but I can't get the update to work on my Defy. The install from the Android Market gets a "Not properly signed" message and the install from the Amazon Appstore just plain gets a "Install failed".
Am I stuck with the old version of the KIndle app because its a system app with Motoblur? Doesn't seem to make much sense to preload an app on a phone in such a way that the app can't be updated!
I have purchased an audio book in itunes on my Mac at home. I would like to download the audio book onto my iphone and can't seem to figure it out. I have previously shared books, music, apps and movies via icloud but audio books will not work for me.
I bought an audio from Apple store for my iphone. I cannot find it. When I look for it, I am lead to the store and they tell me I purchased it. But, I cannot find it to read it. Where is the book I purchased?
I've got an iPhone 5 64GB, with iOS 8.1.1 (updated since this problem occurred, so it was using the previous version). I'm using it with iTunes 126.96.36.199 on a Windows 7 computer. Recently I synched my phone with iTunes (admittedly for the first time in a while), and noticed that most of the epub books in ibooks on the phone were missing. On opening iTunes I found that a lot of the books were in iTunes, but that for some reason only a few of the books had been selected to sync. I selected all of them and solved that problem. However, there were one or two books which I had downloaded directly with my phone, which do not appear on the phone or my PC. How to recover them?
The harddrive on my old computer died. Now when I try to sync my iPhone to the new computer, I get a message saying that my iPhone will be overwritten with the library on the computer. This wouldn't be a problem except my iPhone contains songs and books that are not showing up in the computer library. How do I get my iPhone registered to the new computer without losing music and books?
