I have downloaded several books from Amazon. They are stored "somewhere" on my zoom. How can I find them? Once I am reading a book that I have downloaded my xoom saves the page where I stopped last but! When I have finished a book and am ready to go to the storage "place" on my xoom where all my Kindle downloads are listed - how do I get there?

I have a couple phones. Well, quite a few. It started when I could not download books to the Turbo. It just put an exclamation point in the title and says sorry, try again later. I try again later for several days, and nothing changes. On the other hand everything works fine on my other phones, and I can log into Amazon no problem. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kindle.
This is not a complete uninstall of course since Kindle is pre-installed and unless you root, you're stuck with it. But after I uninstalled the updates it still would not work. So I nuked from orbit by wiping the phone and reinstalling Kindle (well, updating the built-in version). Well, THAT changed it. Now it won't take the password. It allows me to CHANGE the password, and I did that. But even after changing it (successfully it said) and verifying that the new PW worked on another phone and on my laptop, it still won't take it. It says that username/password combination does not exist.
is there anyway to remove some of the bloatware like kindle books,ebooks nfl,and alot of the other stuff i don't use if i could would leave me more room to adds apps. that i can use

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running the Kindle App on my Galaxy S5. Suddenly, today, books can be read only in landscape mode and will not rotate back to portrait. The app itself (screen showing available books) rotates fine, as does everything else. It's just that reading a book is locked in landscape mode.
Not sure what happened, but it was working fine the last time I tried it. I've been looking for an "unlock" item for reading in the app, but cannot find one.
How I get auto-rotate (or even manual rotate) back for reading a book?
I have a bunch of books in my kindle library and had downloaded a subset of them to my iphone in the kindle app.Â
I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books. Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.Â
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?Â
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.Â
I bought a book using "My eBooks" that came pre loaded on the Xoom. I just downloaded "Kindle" app from the market. Is there a way to transfer the book over to kindle? (The book is "Motorola Xoom for Dummies").

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to copy the Kindle folder from the Xoom to Windows 7 Xoom backup folder, the transfer stops and I get a Windows message that says "device stopped responding." Everything goes well until about 3/4 way into the file transfer. At this point it stops (blue bar stops moving) and Windows Explorer says Not Responding. If I wait long enough, then I get the device stopped responding message. how to get this file backed up so I can ship my Xoom for upgrade.

I've tried several of the book apps and all of them exhibit one big problem.
They turn the pages by themselves sometimes. Sometimes only a page or two sometimes 30 pages.
I've decided this isn't likely a problem with the book apps but with the Xoom itself more than likely. with books turning pages by themselves?
every-time I try to access the books tab in Android market it goes into force close.

I took a few pictures and then hit the power button to shut off the screen, When I later hit the power buttom to wake my wifi xoom, the xoom awoke back into the camera app, however, the screen for the picture was black. I hit the "back" button and it illuminated blue to indicate that I had hit it but it remained blue. It was stuck. I hit "home" and it gave me a message to force close the camera or wait. I force closed it and attempted to restart the camera app. It wouldn't restart so I rebooted the xoom.Now, the camera app starts up and shows a picture, however, I get the subject message "Mount USB Storage Before Using the Camera"
View 3 Replies View Related I've encountered with my Xoom FE.I have no pictures, music, or videos at all on the device - only apps.I added up the total of every single app including data and cache and it only takes up a small fraction of the devices storage.when I checked the storage in the settings, it says I only have 4.15GB of the available space and that my apps are taking up 7.28GB.There is just no way I can see how that is possible.I should have the majority of the available space left.I could do a factory reset but that would bite.Is there anything I'm missing that I can try to figure out why it's showing up so much app space?Even with the caches and data cleared, it doesn't help.Also, I have a few downloads in there but they take up very few MBs much less a GB.
One other thing I have nearly the exact same apps with ebooks and a few games on my Galaxy Nexus and my older and smaller but trusty HTC Flyer tab.They both show my apps taking up a fraction of the space that my Xoom FE does.I use AndroZip Pro as a file manager and it shows the same thing so something is up.
I'm having a strange issue on my Wifi Xoom (running the recently pushed ICS). I recently installed an app (the Caustic demo) from the market. Caustic sets up a basic file structure in storage for storing instrument sample files. Well, after uninstalling the demo, I went to remove the leftover files (via ASTRO) and it said "Error deleting files". I dig into the subdir and tried some individual files, but got the same result. I tried another file manager (EStrongs) but got the same result. I then tried mounting on Windows and deleting that way. It appeared to work (crunched for a second, then the files disappeared without any errors given). But the files still show up in ASTRO, and when I re-mount on Windows, they're still there.
Oh and this is only happening with this directory. Other files and directories can be deleted just fine. Is there a problem with my Xoom, or did the app author do something improper with setting up the directory?
I have an OTG cable and it was my understanding that although this wouldn't give me full "mass storage" it would at least allow me to access media on an attached USB flash drive? Have I missed something?I have File Station and am not rooted

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I check for update I'm told there is an update for the Kindle app but I can't get the update to work on my Defy. The install from the Android Market gets a "Not properly signed" message and the install from the Amazon Appstore just plain gets a "Install failed".
Am I stuck with the old version of the KIndle app because its a system app with Motoblur? Doesn't seem to make much sense to preload an app on a phone in such a way that the app can't be updated!
A week ago I went to make a phone call hit the icon on my home page without looking to see it had been replaced with the Kindle app icon..and of course...opens the Kindle app. Now, in order to make a phone call...I have to open my contacts, press the dialer, and then make the call. A lot of extra effort for a phone call when the main function of the phone is making phone calls.
maybe I should just wait another two weeks and go buy an iPhone. Renewal is just around the corner.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive.It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.
