Mar 21, 2012A week ago I went to make a phone call hit the icon on my home page without looking to see it had been replaced with the Kindle app icon..and of course...opens the Kindle app. Now, in order to make a phone call...I have to open my contacts, press the dialer, and then make the call. A lot of extra effort for a phone call when the main function of the phone is making phone calls.
maybe I should just wait another two weeks and go buy an iPhone. Renewal is just around the corner.

Jul 17, 2011my Kindle app won't work on my Torch. I've deleted and re-downloaded it multiple times, but the same thing happens. I can log in, see my library of books, but when I try to click on a book to download it, the wheel spins infinitely (I've let it go for up to an hour) and the book never appears. In other words, I can see my library of books but cannot read any of them. Amazon has been helpful but they determined it wasn't their problem-- seems like somebody going haywire either with my BB, or RIM is blocking the Kindle app for some reason.

Mar 3, 2010I see that there is a Kindle app for the Iphone. Being a book worm I first was jumping for joy. I thought that books were going to be really cheap since they don't have to print anything. I was thinking new releases maybe $2.99 and old books $1. Boy was I wrong.
So am I looking at the Kindle books correctly as far as price? They seem just a little cheaper but not that much cheaper than real books.

Motorola Defy :: Unable To Upgrade Kindle App?
Jun 20, 2011Whenever I check for update I'm told there is an update for the Kindle app but I can't get the update to work on my Defy. The install from the Android Market gets a "Not properly signed" message and the install from the Amazon Appstore just plain gets a "Install failed".
Am I stuck with the old version of the KIndle app because its a system app with Motoblur? Doesn't seem to make much sense to preload an app on a phone in such a way that the app can't be updated!

Apr 28, 2015I have a couple phones. Well, quite a few. It started when I could not download books to the Turbo. It just put an exclamation point in the title and says sorry, try again later. I try again later for several days, and nothing changes. On the other hand everything works fine on my other phones, and I can log into Amazon no problem. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kindle.
This is not a complete uninstall of course since Kindle is pre-installed and unless you root, you're stuck with it. But after I uninstalled the updates it still would not work. So I nuked from orbit by wiping the phone and reinstalling Kindle (well, updating the built-in version). Well, THAT changed it. Now it won't take the password. It allows me to CHANGE the password, and I did that. But even after changing it (successfully it said) and verifying that the new PW worked on another phone and on my laptop, it still won't take it. It says that username/password combination does not exist.
Galaxy S5 :: Kindle Books Not Rotating - Locked In Landscape Mode?
May 6, 2015I am running the Kindle App on my Galaxy S5. Suddenly, today, books can be read only in landscape mode and will not rotate back to portrait. The app itself (screen showing available books) rotates fine, as does everything else. It's just that reading a book is locked in landscape mode.
Not sure what happened, but it was working fine the last time I tried it. I've been looking for an "unlock" item for reading in the app, but cannot find one.
How I get auto-rotate (or even manual rotate) back for reading a book?

Everything goes well until about 3/4 way into the file transfer. At this point it stops (blue bar stops moving) and Windows Explorer says Not Responding. Jun 6, 2014I have a bunch of books in my kindle library and had downloaded a subset of them to my iphone in the kindle app.Â
I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books. Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.Â
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?Â
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.Â

I updated my phone from kitkat to the new android lolipop. everything went fine. everything was great. but suddenly just this morning a problem concerning my notifcation bar arise.Â

My problem is swiping down my notification bar. it works fine on the lock screen but when the moment i unlock my phone, i cant easily swipe it down. i have to linger my hand from the top bezzle slowly swiping my thumb so that the notification bar would respond. i dont have all day to do this. i tried activating the show touch option to see how my touch responded to the screen. and there i think is the problem. there is this small gap between the bezzle and the top screen of my Z2.Â

Now the tricky thing to this problem is, why would my lockscreen-notification-bar-swipe work but my homepage swiping of the notification bar wont? they have the same gap of the touch between the bezzle and the screen when I touch the upper most part of the screen yet both work differently in terms of the responsiveness of the notification bar.
