I see that there is a Kindle app for the Iphone. Being a book worm I first was jumping for joy. I thought that books were going to be really cheap since they don't have to print anything. I was thinking new releases maybe $2.99 and old books $1. Boy was I wrong.
So am I looking at the Kindle books correctly as far as price? They seem just a little cheaper but not that much cheaper than real books.
Now that I have the Nook app on my PC, how can send a book from the PC to the Kindle?

I have a bunch of books in my kindle library and had downloaded a subset of them to my iphone in the kindle app.Â
I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books. Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.Â
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?Â
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.Â
I have Yahoo on my iPhone, right? When I read an email in my Yahoo account on my iPhone, and later log into my Yahoo account, it shows those messages as read. Heck, I can even file my emails away in my folders, if I want to; i.e. move them over to my bills folder, or my purchases folder, or my mom folder.Now, here's the deal with my other account tho. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. I do not know a whole lot about how things are set up over here, but I have access to answers if you guys can help me find out the right questions to ask. When I read a work email on my iPhone, and I get to work the next morning, there it is, bold and unread. I really want it to show as read. I get an obnoxious amount of work emails. The whole point in keeping up with them on my phone is to save me time in the long run. So, when I get to work and have to re-read them all, I've saved nothing. my Kindle app won't work on my Torch. I've deleted and re-downloaded it multiple times, but the same thing happens. I can log in, see my library of books, but when I try to click on a book to download it, the wheel spins infinitely (I've let it go for up to an hour) and the book never appears. In other words, I can see my library of books but cannot read any of them. Amazon has been helpful but they determined it wasn't their problem-- seems like somebody going haywire either with my BB, or RIM is blocking the Kindle app for some reason.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a couple phones. Well, quite a few. It started when I could not download books to the Turbo. It just put an exclamation point in the title and says sorry, try again later. I try again later for several days, and nothing changes. On the other hand everything works fine on my other phones, and I can log into Amazon no problem. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kindle.
This is not a complete uninstall of course since Kindle is pre-installed and unless you root, you're stuck with it. But after I uninstalled the updates it still would not work. So I nuked from orbit by wiping the phone and reinstalling Kindle (well, updating the built-in version). Well, THAT changed it. Now it won't take the password. It allows me to CHANGE the password, and I did that. But even after changing it (successfully it said) and verifying that the new PW worked on another phone and on my laptop, it still won't take it. It says that username/password combination does not exist.
I would like to know if i can download a book onto my galaxy 6 edge? I don't have a kindle but would like to be able to read on my cell phone...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running the Kindle App on my Galaxy S5. Suddenly, today, books can be read only in landscape mode and will not rotate back to portrait. The app itself (screen showing available books) rotates fine, as does everything else. It's just that reading a book is locked in landscape mode.
Not sure what happened, but it was working fine the last time I tried it. I've been looking for an "unlock" item for reading in the app, but cannot find one.
How I get auto-rotate (or even manual rotate) back for reading a book?

Everything goes well until about 3/4 way into the file transfer. At this point it stops (blue bar stops moving) and Windows Explorer says Not Responding. View 8 Replies View RelatedA week ago I went to make a phone call hit the icon on my home page without looking to see it had been replaced with the Kindle app icon..and of course...opens the Kindle app. Now, in order to make a phone call...I have to open my contacts, press the dialer, and then make the call. A lot of extra effort for a phone call when the main function of the phone is making phone calls.
maybe I should just wait another two weeks and go buy an iPhone. Renewal is just around the corner.

I have a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X version 10.6.8.When I connect my phone to the computer w the USB cable, nothing happens. iTunes does not "see" the phone.I also have wifi and when I try to sync using this, I get a message on the phone "Sync will resume when"Macintosh.local" is available."
I have done a sync before with no problem using the cable. I have restarted both the phone and the computer.
