IPhone :: Battery Not Charging / Restoring Goes To Apple Logo
Jan 28, 2010Earlier today, my iPhone ran out of charge and died, I plugged her in and got the battery symbol with the lightning bolt.but it never progressed from absolute bottom red.It only boots to that symbol (the only variation is whether it's plugged in or not, if not it gives me the 'plug in' symbol). I have tried hard resets, I have tried restoring the firmware, redownloading the firmware, changing usb ports, rebooting computers etc. When attempting a restore, it gets to the apple logo (preparing iphone for restore) but then fails. ONCE it got to the progress bar and failed.Any ideas? I am not and never have been jailbroken on this device. I don't want to take it back as it has data that I want on it.
Edit: I've tried leaving it on charge for hours on end.
Edit 2: Just got code 13. Trying another cable now. let's hope for the best (but i've tried this before)
Edit 3: Got error 1601. I am removing mobile device support and itunes. redownloading now.

Mar 24, 2012I have already read enough of this great forum post, I hope in the future to helpbeginners like me, one day we had to IOS (formerly had a Galaxy S2) and now we are more than comfortable with my 4s!I have the cell phone constantly charging, either in the Dock, when I go to bed, Through The cable in my university (when I'm in class or on the computer in the Library), this because the phone if consuming battery (I have the iOS 5.0.1) and hate running out of battery (no phone) when I'm away from home.Then the doubt (I've already searched in many forums) is whether this is detrimental tothe battery of the phone, or simply when the iPhone detects that is loaded, just stops receiving load and nothing happens:

Apr 22, 2012Over last one month, I have bought at least 4 new USB cables, and within a short period of time, these USB cables just refused to charge anymore, at least no more "lightning" signal on the apple devices indicated. While the condition of these cables are still very new, what could be the issue? I have ensure that my devices have the latest OS updated and yet these charging issues are happening more and more frequently.

I plugged it into my wall socket as normal, but all I got was the black screen with the apple logo, which disappeared after about 15 seconds. I have tried to hold down the home and on/off key together; to try and restore it, but nothing happened. I have tried to plug into my computer and open in iTunes, but iTunes does not find it. The only thing it appears to do when it is plugged into anything, is show the apple logo on the screen and then switch off after about 15 seconds.

I SSH into this location on the phone: /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
And then replace the icons BatteryBG_1.png up to BatteryBG_17.png but after its done copying and replacing its still displaying the old green battery pic.
Any ideas whats up?

Jun 29, 2012I have an iphone 3gs and still have warranty on it. I don't talk on it much at all. I use the internet and text and listen to music. the most i use the internet is about 30-35minutes a day, sometimes less. I have everything turned off like Bluetooth and fetch data and even 3g. I can go probably 6 hours and do nothing to loose all of my battery. I literally watched my phone go from 90 to 79 in 30 min. just listening to music.

May 29, 2012I never had the battery drain problem with my iPhone 4S but recently over the past month at least my battery seems to have degraded abnormally quickly, not the battery drain some had, but as in its simply not holding as much charge anymore & I got it on Oct 26, 2011.. if anything I would guess its abound 82% of its total capacity ALREADY & going by Apple's battery tips on their site it should be at 80% total capacity after 400 charge/discharge cycles, im lucky to have gone past 140 of those at best (was trying to count then lost the count). I have always followed proper battery care tips, the once a month full charge/discharge, dont let it get hot, leave out of sun etc. I still have the regular warrenty till Oct 26, 2012, would Apple replace my battery for no charge? If so I would want to do this soon before the warrenty is up.. This is concerning after just over 6 months my battery has less capacity than my 3GS did after 1 year of use.. & im a light/moderate user.

Apr 4, 2012Just yesterday when I plugged my phone into the ac adapter to charge after a while I noticed the phone was really warm, hot even, and it wasn't charging as quickly as it usually does. This morning I realized that my phone was at 70% when i had fully charged it last night and didn't really use it until that point. Around 10-15 mins later my battery life was at 60% and kept dropping around the same time to 50%. I had to keep plugging my phone in just to have a decent amount of battery life. The phone still feels hot when I have it plugged in and it doesn't seem to be charging as quickly as it should.
