Some apps (e.g. sleep monitoring, smart alarms etc.) consume a lot of energy. Therefore they ask to leave iPhone charging for the whole night.
is it safe for iPhone's battery? I understand that battery controller prevents overcharging, but still...
My iphone 3gs is damaged because the battery is bloated and now the iphone is broken in 2 pcs!

My E7 is 6 months old. The phone has not been damaged in any way but the charging port is faulty. I have tried different chargers and the same problem, , you have to wiggle the lead to make connection. Vodafone told me that this would be a wear and tear issue and therefore not covered under warranty. RUBBISH I say! If it has worn out then the phone is not "fit for purpose" I have spoken to Nokia who have advised me that they are seeing a problem with the charging port on a small number of the E7's. Nokia need to make Vodafone aware of this issue and Vodafone need to start listening to they loyal customer of over 20 years!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have already read enough of this great forum post, I hope in the future to helpbeginners like me, one day we had to IOS (formerly had a Galaxy S2) and now we are more than comfortable with my 4s!I have the cell phone constantly charging, either in the Dock, when I go to bed, Through The cable in my university (when I'm in class or on the computer in the Library), this because the phone if consuming battery (I have the iOS 5.0.1) and hate running out of battery (no phone) when I'm away from home. Then the doubt (I've already searched in many forums) is whether this is detrimental tothe battery of the phone, or simply when the iPhone detects that is loaded, just stops receiving load and nothing happens:

My iPhone 4 is not charging. When I plug it, it makes the sound that it is plugged in and the battery indicator in the top right hand corner shows it's plugged in, but the battery life does not go up in percentage. I am running out of battery life as we speak.

Earlier today, my iPhone ran out of charge and died, I plugged her in and got the battery symbol with the lightning bolt.but it never progressed from absolute bottom red.It only boots to that symbol (the only variation is whether it's plugged in or not, if not it gives me the 'plug in' symbol). I have tried hard resets, I have tried restoring the firmware, redownloading the firmware, changing usb ports, rebooting computers etc. When attempting a restore, it gets to the apple logo (preparing iphone for restore) but then fails. ONCE it got to the progress bar and failed.Any ideas? I am not and never have been jailbroken on this device. I don't want to take it back as it has data that I want on it.
Edit: I've tried leaving it on charge for hours on end.
Edit 2: Just got code 13. Trying another cable now. let's hope for the best (but i've tried this before)
Edit 3: Got error 1601. I am removing mobile device support and itunes. redownloading now.
I have this big problem with my 3GS.about 2 months ago it fell into a swimming pool I let it sit on my kitchen table to dry out and have not touched it. So today I was just wondering if it was going to work, and I plugged it in and it actually started up! Everything works perfectly to my suprise except the battery will not charge. It says it has 15% battery, and wont charge anymore. If I remove the charger it immediately turns off? I still think there is life for my IPhone. Anybody have any suggestions? Does the battery need replaced?

When I try and connect the iPone to the charger it has difficulty making a proper connection and will actually drain the battery instead of charging it up. Do I need to replace the battery?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust yesterday when I plugged my phone into the ac adapter to charge after a while I noticed the phone was really warm, hot even, and it wasn't charging as quickly as it usually does. This morning I realized that my phone was at 70% when i had fully charged it last night and didn't really use it until that point. Around 10-15 mins later my battery life was at 60% and kept dropping around the same time to 50%. I had to keep plugging my phone in just to have a decent amount of battery life. The phone still feels hot when I have it plugged in and it doesn't seem to be charging as quickly as it should.
