Apr 12, 2012I just updated to the ios5 and have lost many of my apps and I'm also having trouble installing new apps - keep getting the message that I Must use the Canadian store, even though I came through the link on the Canada iTunes. Does this have to do with my apple ID being changed to the MobileMe email address?

Mar 29, 2012I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS4 to iOS5.1 last night while connected to iTunes. My contacts list became empty when the phone came back on.
I already tried to retrieve the contacts through the following methods:Open a recent Text Message, tap "Contact" and edit.Turn off and on icloud.Import from SIM.Reset the phone and re-sync.Restore from backup. All previous backups from iOS4 are inaccessible.I do not have the contacts list backed up on Windows/Outlook/Google/etc. I was naive to put my trust in Apple.
The contacts are not on icloud.com either.
This is utterly ridiculous. There was no warning about losing contacts. I followed the directions on iTunes and on the phone. My phone is NOT jailbroken. It's Apple hardware and Apple software, I do not see how this happened other than because of a fault on Apple's part. After months of complaints from consumers, there was no warning or fix to this problem that has been well known to Apple. I already wasted more than 4 hours trying to find a way to get the contacts list back to no avail.
Is there a way to get my contacts back or are they lost forever?

so I backup my phone , restore it and the update it, but now after I restore my iphone all the info from my backup all my contacts are lost I tryied to do all those thing with the iCloud (aint worked for me :S) , and i also tried to sync my contacts from the outlook , aint worked either =[
I dont know what to do anymore and those contacts are relly importent to me ...

Jan 30, 2010I have the bold 9700 V5.0.0.321 I had all my contacts duplicated due to sync of my phone with the gmail.on one the contact it duplicate about 10 names and when i tried to delete one of them it deleted everyone of those names. I found out (maybe the wrong way) that you go to the address book press Options -> then press R S E T -> which deleted all of my contacts in the address book and now I cant restore it back. Every time I input the data names and numbers it wont save it. I had the back up but it says the DM doesn't recognise the data. Is there anyone that can help me on how to put my contacts back into my phone.

Mar 14, 2012I updated through my phone not itunes to 5.1 everything worked and is fine except it deleted all my contacts in my contact list. The weird thing is that in my txts the names are there and if you hit contacts at the top of the txt it shows all the info of the contact like id be looking at it in my contact list.

Took all the precautions beforehand pressing sync and backing up etc. After the update I have lost all my contacts and apps and how they were arranged on the home screen. Stangely, I still have all my text messages. I'm not bothered about my apps or music they can be purchased again but is there any way of getting my contacts back?
