Updated software to iOS 5.1.1 and lost all contacts, messages, and photos specific to this iPhone. Is there any way to retrieve the lost info?

When phone connected to wifi yesterday some HTC update was ran.
I now seem to have lost all my contacts, SMS messages, some apps and all photos.
How I can sort this?
It's weird as I did back it all up and whatever I try it doesn't work! I spoke to apple and they wanted to charge me!

I have had a itouch and I connected it to the itunes. But now when I first connected my iphone with the itunes. My iphone was synchronized and changed as my itouch. I lost connacts, photos, messages and so on. So how can I get back my information?

I updated through my phone not itunes to 5.1 everything worked and is fine except it deleted all my contacts in my contact list. The weird thing is that in my txts the names are there and if you hit contacts at the top of the txt it shows all the info of the contact like id be looking at it in my contact list.

Updated my iphone last night and lost 800 of my phone numbers. How can I retrieve my lost contacts. I back up my computer with carbonite and tried to put the folder back into itunes but when I resync they did not show up.

I have updated to os 5 today. Took all the precautions beforehand pressing sync and backing up etc. After the update I have lost all my contacts and apps and how they were arranged on the home screen. Stangely, I still have all my text messages. I'm not bothered about my apps or music they can be purchased again but is there any way of getting my contacts back? I have spent 3+ hours trying many of the options that other have used after a google search but they don't work.

I just got the 4S and I went on a trip immediately after buying it, so I used it as a camera for the trip. When I came back I plugged it into my computer and was asked if I wanted to put my iPod touch backup on the iPhone. Thinking it would just put all the music and photos from my iPod onto the phone, I clicked yes, and also installed the newest update. I mistakenly selected restore backup on my computer with my iphone 5S plugged in and little did i know it was going to delete all of my photos and contacts that I had from the past year and send me back to my last backup which was when ios 7 came out (LAST YEAR!!) I really need these photos and contacts back, so I did some research about recovering deleted files on my phone and turns out applications like these exist. I just don't know which ones to get. Most of them range from $50 to $100 so i really don't want to have to buy two of them. Some of them are called PhoneRescue, MobiSaver, Wondershare Dr. Fone...etc and i tried all of their 'free trials' and none of them worked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI took a backup of my E 72 using PC suite on my laptop. and fomatted the memory card and took a hard reset of my phone as after software update the phn stopped alerting on receiving an sms. but now when I am restoring the data, i see a message everytime that "restore successful.phone will restart" but after restart there is no data restored from the back up. and also says that "due to insufficinet memory the back up file was saved on my laptop's desktop with the names - 1.) DEV and 2.) MMC".i need those messages as it has all my bank account details.i tried restoring only the messages from the backup file with extension "nbu." but all in vain.again it says "restore successful.phone will restart" but no messages are seen after the restart.
I have tried several times,restoring using ovi suite also but i get a message "something's gone wrong"
