how to set the ringtone to Silent for 1 caller? I don't want it to vibrate either, just be there without notifying me?
If it's not possible to do with the stock iPhone software, can anyone recommend a ringtone download that will do that?
is there a way to make a specif person's phone number ring even if the phone is on silent mode? I have a baby due any time and would like tohave my phone ready anytime.

I have recently received the 5.1.1 update with the new firmware. (build number 23.4.A.0.546)... Ever since I updated the phone, and despite having the ringtone volume set to the maximum level, my phone is always silent. Notification sounds are working properly; however, the ringtone issue persists even after I made a hard reset using Sony PC Companion. I have missed many important calls because of this issue and there seems to be no solution.

The issue I am getting is frequently mobile is getting silent automatically No ringtone is ringing, when I am getting incoming call only display is coming, when I am receiving call I cannot hear anything. So everytime I have to switch off mobile and remove battery and restart the phone again, for sometime everything is working fine but after some hours again getting silent.
I've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.
I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?

A few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short?My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

My iPhone 4 which is appx 4 years old with latest iOS has developed this problem last week. After a hello on connecting a call with anyone, it just goes blank. Neither am I able to hear any voice from the other side nor the person on the other side is able to hear me. I hVe to disconnect the call and use SMS or whatsapp. Is there anything I can do to correct it?

So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.

I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through.If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?

i have had my iphone 4s for about a month.in the last coupla days it has started giving me notifications without sounds, not "clicking" when i type, not playing the sound in Internet (not even showing a volume slider.pic attacehed at the bottom),it is not switched to silent, and i can still flick it to silent which still shows the "silent" symbol on screen, and in turn the "unmuted" symbol when i switch back.i also cannot change affect the volume with the side buttons.if i got to "settings" / "sounds", i can hear the ringtone when i adjust the "ringers and alerts" slider, so i know the internal speak is working, but doesn't affect my problem when i go back to the home screen.still totall silence upon incoming calls/texts/emails.i really don't expect this to be happening to a brand new phone, especially one that cost me £200.00 in-store with my renewed 2 year contract.
