Xperia Z3 :: Ringtone Is Always Silent After 5.1.1 Update
Aug 23, 2015
I have recently received the 5.1.1 update with the new firmware. (build number 23.4.A.0.546)... Ever since I updated the phone, and despite having the ringtone volume set to the maximum level, my phone is always silent. Notification sounds are working properly; however, the ringtone issue persists even after I made a hard reset using Sony PC Companion. I have missed many important calls because of this issue and there seems to be no solution.
is there a way to make a specif person's phone number ring even if the phone is on silent mode? I have a baby due any time and would like tohave my phone ready anytime.
I just switched to the lumia 800 for few days the ringtone was working properly but for past 2 days the ringtone automatically stops playing after 1 or 2 sec when a call rings especially when the phone is kept flat against any table, bed or hand.
When I switch to 'silent mode' (with vibrate OFF) I don't hear the ringtone through the phone speaker, but I do if headphones are plugged in. Any way to turn this off?
This is iphone 4S with most recent software upgrades.
The issue I am getting is frequently mobile is getting silent automatically No ringtone is ringing, when I am getting incoming call only display is coming, when I am receiving call I cannot hear anything. So everytime I have to switch off mobile and remove battery and restart the phone again, for sometime everything is working fine but after some hours again getting silent.
I have a cool ringtone after update to ICS 4,but after go to settings there no option to choose it again.Menu for ringtones shows "ringtone unknown".Where can find this ringtone and set it again?
I've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.
Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
Since the Update to ICS the ringtone settings of my neoV (SI: 1254-4760) has been behaving odd: I usually set my phone to vibration only, but once the phone has been used for media playback or as alarm (using the app Alarm Droid), the ringtone setting changes to sound activated without any input from the user to do so. In previous versions the media volume was separated from ringtone volume. I see 3 possible reasons for this behavior: I need to change a setting. The volume management has been changed for ICS.
Ok so i bought a BB 9630 Tour couple days ago. and i have a question.so i set my girlfriend as a specific ringtone. but i usually use silent when i am at home, and one day she called me and guess what, the phone rang.so here is the question, how do you make the contact ring when it is in like when my normal is activated BUT NOT MY SILENT. cuz when i do silent and when she calls me and my phone rings... it doesnt really make sense cuz i put it as in silent.
A few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short? My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
kies advised that a system update was available for my S5 so I updated. Since then, my alarm doesn't sound in silent mode and system doesn't allow me to change sounds of silent mode.
I've tried 3rd party alarm as well, but didn't make a difference.
I noticed recently that my X10 just vibrates on incoming calls even if volme is full out, but yet my text message tone is audible. I also noticed that sometimes the ringer volume is fully silent even if I havent adjusted it. I did do a software repair & it rang for just a few times after that but Im back square one!
I am currently trying to help my little brother with an issue he is having with his X 10 mini pro. The problem he is having is that it keeps switching into slient mode of it own accord at random times. I have tried updating the software but that has had no effect. Does anyone know how to sort this issue?
I have a weird problem in sound sometimes the notification sound no more work goes silent i must do restart i did software repair but it come again what should i do...
I got the Z2 device but i am facing strange issue: the Z2 switch to silent by it self, i though its application issue so i resetted the device but still facing the same issue.
What cause the device to switch to Silent mode by it self (its on my desk so i am sure i didn't press the volume key)...
I washed my phone 1 day ago and only now I noticed that the bottom speaker is way too silent. Main top speaker is working fine. If you play any song and rotate the phone horizontally, you can tell that there is a big difference.
Why My xperia z2 rings at silent mode, it suppose just ring for exception calls only, and i try all settings i can do for it and at past it was really silent at android 5.0 at priority mood but now after new update android 5.1
There is no sound on the phone when SMS arrive. Phone ringtone and all other sounds/speaker work fine. Is there an adjustment or setting for SMS or do I have a phone problem?
I put my phone on silent, it ran out of battery, now after turning it back on i cant get it off silent mode, the volume buttons wont allow me to and when i try to do it in the menu the volume thing you're supposed to slide to the right is greyed out ...
Since I got my phone out of repair there is no longer the possibility of 'interruptions' in the sound & notification settings, that button changed to 'silent mode'. Now I can no longer choose between primary interruptions, I'm just left with the choice of either vibration or sound. Which is super annoying.
my xperia mini pro is only a month old and driving me mad. It sometimes goes into silent mode. You untick the box in settings and then a day or two later goes back again. Really annoying as you miss all your calls and texts.
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.
Just updated to lollipop. Now i can't use the power button anymore to set the volume on silent. I only have the options shutdown, restart, take screenshot and screencapture. Is it possible to add functions to the power button?
This is my first time with xperia phones. Silent/viration/ring. Toggle is missing in xperia z5. To go in vibration mode we have to press vol down key....
It is so annoying. Even when i have my phone on silent, the notification sound is still on when i plugin my headphones! how do i turn of notification sound when i have my headphones in!!!!!
Probably the silliest and easiest to find but for some reason I cannot find how to put my phone to silent mode and or turn off the vibrate setting. Every notification that comes through vibrates even though I don't have the vibrate setting on.
