View 4 Replies View RelatedSo this just recently started happening. When I slide the switch down (thus putting the phone on vibrate) it'll freak out and go back and forth between loud and vibrate. Touching the screen or the phone causes it to switch back and forth as well (i'll vibrate to signal). The other day the physical switch showed it was on vibrate but it was audible and playing sounds. The switch isn't actually broken off, and I don't think it's a software problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Phone hasn't been dropped and doesn't have any water damage

COming. The calls come from 4 or 5 distinct (out of state) numbers. I thought I might save them to my address book and assign a "no ring" to them. But there's no option for that. I'm stuck with hearing some kind of ring if I use that method

Tests today also showed that when I put it in Silent/Vibrate mode it doesn't vibrate when receiving calls either. However when I select Silent/Vibrate mode it does the little vibrate feedback so its not like the vibrate feature doesn't work at all.
What can I do to make a contact ring when the phone is still on silent? Like when you were able to make different soy d profiles on the blackberry you were so able to set a contact ring when the phone is on silent

Has anyone come across an app yet that will allow the phone to still ring even in silent mode?
I want to be able to NOT hear any of the emails or texts at night when I go to sleep but at the same time, I want to be able to have the phone ring through from certain contacts - in case of emergencies from my parents or my son.

is it software problem or hardware problem or something else such as water damage
About two weeks ago my phone stopped ringing for calls and beeping for text messages.
Initially I thought it was a speaker issue however all other notification sounds work (email, Facebook, etc).
I have cleared the cache (which takes forever) and factory reset.
I have restored to having it vibrate always and having moto assist tell me "you have a new text message from A to read say read" or "A is calling you to answer say answer" etc. Which is not ideal in most settings.
I have tried setting it on every ring level, nothing. I have played with every setting, nothing.
Now I'm missing countless calls.
I run a business from my personal phone. I have people calling in a few times a day to order products, but I also text on it all day. I keep it on silent because I text alot and I don't want it to drain my battery and be annoying all day on ringer or vibrate. How could I set it to be silent for text messages, and ring for phone calls?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have the phone ring and have all other notifications either silent or vibrating? I use my cell as my primary phone and it would be nice while I sleep to hear the phone ring and not hear all the other sounds the phone makes for notifications and stuff like that.
I had a blackberry prior to this phone and I was able to easily do that with sound options. I don't see the same option with this phone.
I am a long term blackberry user but I am at a loss as to what I have done to my 9700.
The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?
one of my contacts has a custom ring tone and even though my phone is set to silent or vibrate during the day, it rings when he calls.
View 4 Replies View RelatedVerizon XT1254 Moto Droid Turbo, android version 5.1.About once a week I notice that my phone is on silent ringer, I might catch a call because I feel the vibe, or see a missed call. I check where the ring volume is and the slider is all the way to the left on silent. Pushing the vol up hardware key does nothing, touch and slide the slider and it will snap back to silent as soon as you lift your finger. I do have moto assist set to silence the phone from 11pm to 730am, but this problem seems to happen during the day, not just stuck from the nightly mute and the moto assist notification is not up on the screen. If I require the phone to ring at night, there is no problem just moving the slider and moto assist does not interfere.
I have checked through settings, tried multiple ways to raise the volume but nothing works. The only fix is to turn off the phone and then back on again. BTW, what happened to the quick menu that was under the lock button with a long hold that would allow volume changes, vibe on or off, airplane mode and restart? My Gzone has all that under a long press of the lock button.
my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile. This is a behavior I have spent about two hours trying to correct and have been unable to discern a viable solution anywhere. I've got into the settings for the ring tones, theoretically they should be silent along with everything else but it doesn't matter, they continue to play. Normal ring tones do play silently, or rather those numbers to which I have not assigned a custom ring tone.

Put your Nokia N900 on Silent. Now call your mobile and when the calling screen appears hit the loudspeaker key. Clicking this key will cut out even the vibrations on the Nokia N900, but the phone you are calling from will still hear a ringing tone.End the call from the other phone. Now put the Nokia N900 back on General profile. Call the N900 again from another phone. This time you will not hear a ring tone even though you are back on General profile. (I've checked and my volume was on full)
Atleast this is the problem I'm getting at the moment. Apologies if this problem has been covered elsewhere. I've tried to find it but couldnt so will appreciate if someone can paste a link to it here. The problem goes away if you restart the N900, but I'm hoping this problem can be fixed.
Okay folks the problem here is exactly what it sounds like: my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile. Again this is a problem for me at work, so I'd really appreciate any guidance, it has been very difficult to find.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
Â
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Â
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
Â
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
Â
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
3gs does not respond to on-off switch, ring/silent switch or volume buttons. It will not turn off.
I let the phone deplete its battery which didn't take very long but the problem persists.
