View 1 RepliesI've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.
I have recently received the 5.1.1 update with the new firmware. (build number 23.4.A.0.546)... Ever since I updated the phone, and despite having the ringtone volume set to the maximum level, my phone is always silent. Notification sounds are working properly; however, the ringtone issue persists even after I made a hard reset using Sony PC Companion. I have missed many important calls because of this issue and there seems to be no solution.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to set the ringtone to Silent for 1 caller? I don't want it to vibrate either, just be there without notifying me?
If it's not possible to do with the stock iPhone software, can anyone recommend a ringtone download that will do that?
I just switched to the lumia 800 for few days the ringtone was working properly but for past 2 days the ringtone automatically stops playing after 1 or 2 sec when a call rings especially when the phone is kept flat against any table, bed or hand.

It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short? My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
I would like to have a timer make an alarm sound when it is completed, but I still want the phone to be in silent mode. I know I can put the phone in do-not-disturb mode and set an exception, but I'd like to just have the phone in silent mode and still hear a notification sound when the timer is complete. Is there any way to do this? I have Lollipop 5.1.1

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have a few contacts, such as Twitter and ESPN that I don't need to hear a tone for each time. I'd like to set their tone to silent, like I had on my iPhone. Is there a way I can do this? Whenever I go into add another field>messaging tone there is no "silent" for me to select.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy does media volume revert to silent most mornings instead of staying at volume i'd normally have it at. I also use Dolphin as my browser and even if I left a page open on that and come out of the app without exiting fully that reverts back to the home screen as well. It might be grand most of the time and then at least a couple of times a week it will have reset to home page for some reason.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I updated to android Lollipop this week and things have been going well. Normally when I go to sleep I put my phone in silent mode from the quick toggles in the notification panel. I like silent mode so I don't get vibrate notifications during the night and sounds that would wake me up.
Before the update my alarm which I use in the AM to wake up for work used to work in silent mode and I would hear the alarm. The last 2 nights the alarm goes off but only on the screen and does not make a sound like it used to.
I run a business from my personal phone. I have people calling in a few times a day to order products, but I also text on it all day. I keep it on silent because I text alot and I don't want it to drain my battery and be annoying all day on ringer or vibrate. How could I set it to be silent for text messages, and ring for phone calls?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe next day, after installing Lollipop 5.0, my alarm did not sound. It went off, but since I keep my phone on silent, it made no noise. It's never done this. I've always left my phone on silent through the night, and my alarm has always went off, nice and loud, waking me up. Not so, since installing Lollypop 5.0. I've smile some experimenting and it works fine in vibrate, so this will have to suffice until a fix is found. I did speak to a Samsung rep at Best Buy yesterday and he told me that they are pulling Lollypop 5.0 and coming out with 5.0.1

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have the phone ring and have all other notifications either silent or vibrating? I use my cell as my primary phone and it would be nice while I sleep to hear the phone ring and not hear all the other sounds the phone makes for notifications and stuff like that.
I had a blackberry prior to this phone and I was able to easily do that with sound options. I don't see the same option with this phone.
