May 22, 2010Everyone keeps saying that doing a restore removes the jailbreak, making a jailbreak undetectable.That seems to only be partially true.I had 3.1.2 jailbroken and used LockDown-App to protect mail/sms and the like with another, if tiny protection so I could hand out my phone knowing not everyone could read my mail and stuff.
However, that eventually also caused me to have to restore and when I realized there's a JB for 3.1.3 (spirit), I decided: What the heck.I restored to 3.1.3 and because my backup was corrupt, had to set up as new.I jailbroke with spirit and haven't installed LockDown again, because it kept crashing on me.
Today I SSH'd into my phone and to my surprise, I found remnants of the LockDown App still being there, directories and files.So, unless there's something else I should have done before or while restoring, the simple act of restoring as new does NOT seem to entirely remove all traces of a jailbreak.In theory, Apple could jailbreak allegedly bricked phones and so find traces of previous jailbreaking. Cause for concern?

Mar 30, 2012I have noticed when I scrolled down the app list in a category. It's always the Free category section where I download my apps. As I scroll down it would showed that I have installed an app that I have deleted alreadt but when I went to check the summary of the app, the button that said 'free' went to the 'install.' Yet I have never clicked on it. It's a minor issue, I didn't redownload it. However, when I went to the Updates -> Purchased -> All sections. It has shown all the apps I have installed on my iPhone including the ones I have deleted but they have the iCloud icon instead of the 'installed' status. I tried looking up previous threads to see if there is a solution of competely getting rid of the old data apps off my phone. I tried to check if any old apps are on my iTunes but it only shows my current installed apps that I didn't delete.

Jul 11, 2010I just found out that you can’t copy more than 5 pics, when you want to paste them in mail like we used to do in all OS 3’s prior to 4.0. You can share more than 5, but it is now limited to 9, and if you share more than 5, your only option is to MMS the pics. Bottom line is you can only email 5 pics at a time.So, Apple had to purposely remove the option to copy more than 5 pics. I guess someone decided we really didn’t need that function.

Feb 7, 2010Some minutes ago i tried to flash the newest firmware again to get my phones internet (not WiFi) running again. I did the same with previous versions some month ago so i know the behavior of NSU.
Normally, if you already have the most recent firmware installed on your phone and you try to update, NSU tells you that there is no update available and that you could install the current one again.
If you have a firmware installed which is newer than the most recent one for your ProductCode, NSU tells you that there is no update available but it doesnt give you the option to install "the current one" again.
Ok, as i tried to install 21.0.045 again - and i didn't changed my ProductCode - NSU didn't gave me the option to install the current one again. Nokia has removed Firmware 21.0.045, at least for the ProductCode!

Jun 28, 2012Recently a couple of my board members purchased IPhones and IPads. And I have set them up the best I can. If they create a calendar entry on the IPhone or IPad it will show up in Outlook right away. However if they or one of their admins log onto their Outlook calendars and remove a schedule meeting the entry will not delete off the IPhone or IPads. I know there is a 15 minute sync on the devices but I have tested them after hours and days and the entries are still on the calendars on the mobile devices. This creates serious issues when people show up to meetings and destinations that have been cancled days in advanced.
