I've used the OS5 Blackberry Messenger to scan QR codes on my Bold 9700 and it worked great. Upload OS6 and now it just pops back to the Messenger screen. I've tried soft reboots and hard reboots without any success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf the iPads can use a micro sd card reader then why can't the iPhone 4S use it? My wife has a PPC G4 PB that has her music that we have for our regular iPod nano we use. Now that we both got the 4S she of course wanted to put her music on to the new phone and get the pics off of her old cell and put them onto her new 4S. The one work around I found to do for the pics was drop box. It's a pain in the rear but it works. Just doesn't work for music. So since iTunes 4.2 and Mac OS 10.4 don't work for the 4S I've been thinking of biting the bullet and just buy a new Mac for my wife. Then I saw the camera kits. Some say 4S OK. But the kit has to be first connected to an iPad then have a usb cable connected to the 4S in order to swap pics. Why can't the kit just hook up to the 4S and then swap the pics to the sd card? Why does it need the iPad for it to do it? If Apple would had allowed 10.6 to use iCloud I could have used my MPB to upload the iTunes library of hers and then have her log in to her account on the 4S.

I got Air Sharing when it first came out for free, but I've loaded in some PDFs that are rather large, or at least highly detailed on several pages and lately, Air Sharing has been crashing on me when I read these files. Is there anything better available at handling these higher resolution files than Air Sharing? Or can iPhones just not handle them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEveryone keeps saying that doing a restore removes the jailbreak, making a jailbreak undetectable.That seems to only be partially true.I had 3.1.2 jailbroken and used LockDown-App to protect mail/sms and the like with another, if tiny protection so I could hand out my phone knowing not everyone could read my mail and stuff.
However, that eventually also caused me to have to restore and when I realized there's a JB for 3.1.3 (spirit), I decided: What the heck.I restored to 3.1.3 and because my backup was corrupt, had to set up as new.I jailbroke with spirit and haven't installed LockDown again, because it kept crashing on me.
Today I SSH'd into my phone and to my surprise, I found remnants of the LockDown App still being there, directories and files.So, unless there's something else I should have done before or while restoring, the simple act of restoring as new does NOT seem to entirely remove all traces of a jailbreak.In theory, Apple could jailbreak allegedly bricked phones and so find traces of previous jailbreaking. Cause for concern?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have noticed when I scrolled down the app list in a category. It's always the Free category section where I download my apps. As I scroll down it would showed that I have installed an app that I have deleted alreadt but when I went to check the summary of the app, the button that said 'free' went to the 'install.' Yet I have never clicked on it. It's a minor issue, I didn't redownload it. However, when I went to the Updates -> Purchased -> All sections. It has shown all the apps I have installed on my iPhone including the ones I have deleted but they have the iCloud icon instead of the 'installed' status. I tried looking up previous threads to see if there is a solution of competely getting rid of the old data apps off my phone. I tried to check if any old apps are on my iTunes but it only shows my current installed apps that I didn't delete.

I just found out that you can’t copy more than 5 pics, when you want to paste them in mail like we used to do in all OS 3’s prior to 4.0. You can share more than 5, but it is now limited to 9, and if you share more than 5, your only option is to MMS the pics. Bottom line is you can only email 5 pics at a time.So, Apple had to purposely remove the option to copy more than 5 pics. I guess someone decided we really didn’t need that function.
