Upgraded to 5.1.1 on my 4S and iPad 2 and now find my mail connection to my hosted exchange account takes about 5 minutes to check mail or fails to check at all. Just keeps "checking for mail". Yes I have killed the app, rebooted the devices and synced. Exhibiting same behaviour on both devices.
View 13 RepliesI have not been able to get the remote app to work ever since upgrading to iTunes 10. It appears that iTunes 10 breaks the app as some other people on the Apple forums are experiencing the same problem. And just to be sure I completely disabled my firewall.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1 it no longer works with my 2009 Audi A4's AMI/MMI interface. I have replaced the cable to discount that, but it makes no difference. After a lengthy attempt to connect I am given an error on the Audi's MMI screen saying that either the cable or device are not compatible. Hard reboot doesn't fix it. It worked fine before the update.

I use iPhone Mail to sync with my mail server. (I also use Mac mail on my iMac to sync with the same server.) Everything's been fine until I upgraded to iOS 5.1. Doesn't look like anyone else is having the same issue, so maybe it is a setting?
Anyway, the mail comes down to the iPhone, but strangely, there's no little red number on the Mail home screen app anymore. When I go to the list of mailboxes, INbox also doesn't have the new messages number anymore. When I physically go into INbox, the new messages appear and I can read them. If I read them, the next time I check my mail they come down as new again. I can delete messages locally, but upon syncing, deleted messages come down again as new (I presume the server is not getting the message). Sent messages don't show up on the server (and they sound like they're going out, and no errors pop up), yet I have no record of them anywhere. Drafts don't show up on the server.
When I go into Mail on the iMac, all mail comes in as if the iPhone never got the messages. Until day before yesterday, read messages from iPhone would be read in the iMac inbox and syncing worked great between all three -- iPhone, iMac and server.

My exchange email worked just find with previous OS, not with both my Iphone and Itouch 3rd Gen Exchange email does not show anything other than folders, i have tried deleting account and re adding and restoring new phone or itouch factory settings with no luck.

Since installing the new free Maps app, my GPS has failed to work properly. It has no problem getting a good strong fix in "GPS data" and works just fine in my Sports Tracker app, but when I open Ovi Maps, the GPS meter shows alternating pairs of red and gray bars. It seems to get my initial location right, but the centre cursor fades to a dim pink does not move. I've tried to remove Ovi Maps, thinking that perhaps reinstalling it would do the trick, but my attempts to remove it have failed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSoftware update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iphone mail app regularly requires restart to get mail flowing. That is it is running (doesn't crash) but will at time just stop getting email updates. I then have to force close the mail app (i.e. kill it) and then restart it. After restarting it the mail flows again.

a) I do connect to Gmail for my mail - I'm using the IMAP facility for gmail currently (i.e. not the "Exchange" method)
b) I do also have the Google "Gmail" app running on my device too

When I'm out and about, I pick up my mail on my iPad and/or on my iPhone. I HATE having to sift through the duplicates. I know I can delete the emails from the server as they are being downloaded, and that would solve the problem between the iDevices. But I still want a copy of them downloaded into Outlook on my desktop for future reference, so deleting them from the server before Outlook gets ahold of them does not seem like a good idea.I currently have a POP3 account, but I could move onto an Exchange Server or into iCloud or something else if that would solve the problem.

I am on a family plan with a total of two lines. My line is not eligible until 7/23, so all I can get is "early upgrade pricing". My mom's line is currently eligible for "full upgrade pricing". I am planning on using my mom's upgrade to get an iPhone 4. I want to preorder the phone from Apple.com on the 15th, and hopefully receive it the afternoon of the 24th. From my understanding, the microSIM that ships with the phone will be programmed for the line whose upgrade was used. However, the iPhone Upgrade Guide makes it sound like I can call AT&T once I receive the phone (and before I activate it), and have AT&T switch the microSIM from my mom's line to mine. Is this possible?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is really bothering me.I have a yahoo mail account set up on my phone - It has been on there for over a year - it has always worked this way - If I get an email (the phone goes "bing") and i read it on the computer - and responded and delete it on the computer it would be removed from the phone the next time i looked. Recently I began noticing that the message is not being delated from the phone if I delete it from the mailbox, and I can't figure out why.
Basically I want to be able to read the message on the computer and hit delete and for it do the same thing on my blackberry and vise versa. Now it seems to work if I delete the message on the BB then it will not be in the Mailbox on the computer.
