I have not been able to get the remote app to work ever since upgrading to iTunes 10. It appears that iTunes 10 breaks the app as some other people on the Apple forums are experiencing the same problem. And just to be sure I completely disabled my firewall.
I have a 3Gs J.broken, Locked running on 3.1.2 custom firmware, 05.11.07. I use the Remote App a lot on my iPhone, it was working fine last week, but this week so far nothing.I reseted/deleted the Library connection that wasn't connecting, tried to set up a new one, I have absolutely no response from iTunes, my PC and the iphone both share the same wireless WiFi channel, I don't understand
I'm trying to get my iphone 4s and my macbook paired with bluetooth so I can use Itunes Remote. Here's what I'm trying to do, I have a wedding at an apple orchard with no wifi and I want to be able to qeue the music thats on my macbook (connected to Bose speaker system) from my iphone. I figured if it was connected via bluetooth instead of wifi it could still work?Is there another type of remote I could use? Another type of network? A robot I could rent for the day?
My AT&T iPhone 4S is set up to be used as Personal Hotspot. So I turn HotSpot on and connect my MacBook Pro to my iPhone's internet just fine.
However, when I open Apple Remote app on the iPhone, it won't connect to iTunes on my MBP. I have set it up at home where both iPhone and MBP are connected to the wireless connection on the Apple Airport. It worked perfectly in that configuration.
I'm in a band that plays weddings and corporate events. During breaks, I use Apple iTunes to DJ tracks. If I can't use Remote, I'm tethered to the stage constantly. This is a big problem. I need the internet connection to buy songs that are requested that I don't already own. And I need to be able to control iTunes remotely for when I'm in the crowd running microphones from one person to another during speeches and such.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Will a screen saver or 'display sleep' stop the remote from working? My mac is set to never sleep, but when I activate it after long periods of inactivity I notice that my Wi-Fi has to reconnect. I'm assuming the wi-fi drops out while the mac is not in use (though itunes is still playing music), and I cannot connect via the Remote app.
I have a mac mini (snow leopard) with itunes. I would like to remote control the itunes running on my mac mini using my e71, like the iRemote for the iphone.
Upgraded to 5.1.1 on my 4S and iPad 2 and now find my mail connection to my hosted exchange account takes about 5 minutes to check mail or fails to check at all. Just keeps "checking for mail". Yes I have killed the app, rebooted the devices and synced. Exhibiting same behaviour on both devices.
Since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1 it no longer works with my 2009 Audi A4's AMI/MMI interface. I have replaced the cable to discount that, but it makes no difference. After a lengthy attempt to connect I am given an error on the Audi's MMI screen saying that either the cable or device are not compatible. Hard reboot doesn't fix it. It worked fine before the update.

at least once a week my Boss' new Bold 9900 will lose its BIS and BES activation and then he has to switch the phone off, pull sim out put sim back put baterry back and switch on the phone and the the BIS and BES activation is back. He is currently running the following versions:
Since installing the new free Maps app, my GPS has failed to work properly. It has no problem getting a good strong fix in "GPS data" and works just fine in my Sports Tracker app, but when I open Ovi Maps, the GPS meter shows alternating pairs of red and gray bars. It seems to get my initial location right, but the centre cursor fades to a dim pink does not move. I've tried to remove Ovi Maps, thinking that perhaps reinstalling it would do the trick, but my attempts to remove it have failed.
Software update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!
Since the gingerbread update, if encryption is enabled, the highest video recording mode is 720x480.
Only if disable encryption is 1280x720 an option. 1280x720 worked fine with encrpytion under froyo - why did this change and how quickly can this serious bug be fixed?
This is a serious flaw that significantly disables advertised features that worked when I purchased the phone.
I tried looking up videos before coming onto here. Everytime I go to "add library" in the remote app, it gives me a passcode like normal. Then I god to iTunes and I'm stuck there.
I would like to know if there is a way to use my iPhone as a remote microphone in conjunction with apple tv and associated conected display and audio system.
Is there anything like VLC (or logmein.com, etc) for an iPhone which will let me control the iPhone remotely, either from a computer or another iPhone?Recently my wife's phone went missing. We can see it in Find iPhone. But, we would like to get a sense of what is going on with it. Whoever found has it on and is not responding to messages we are sending to it
My 3GS was stolen this morning so I set up a Remote Wipe using Find My iPhone. Turns out a neighborhood kid stole it and, luckily, his parents brought it back to me. As soon as I turned it on, the Remote Wipe started. Now, it's stuck on the Apple logo and isn't responding (won't reboot, iTunes doesn't see it, won't go into DFU mode). The Remote Wipe didn't complete.I am *NOT* a thief! This really happened. I have a good reputation on a couple other forums where I post more often and I can post a photo of my purchase receipt from June 2009 if someone tells me how. don't have Edge or 3G data service. I use my 3GS over Wifi. I thought this might be the problem, but the instructions to start remote wipe came to the phone over Wifi, so it should be able to continue over wifi.
Q: Has anyone experienced this type or problem or heard about it? Q: Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
PHONE INFOS: 3GS, 3.0.1, jb with RedSn0w, not unlocked WHAT HAPPENED - remote wipe initiated - screen went black - Apple logo appeared - empty white progress bar box appeared under Apple logo, but no progress bar started or went accross it - white progress bar box disappeared - spin wheel appeared superimposed over Apple logo, but did not spin
CURRENT STATUS - for the past 4 hours, the steps above keep repeating, minus the empty progress box - every few minutes it starts over again with the black screen - 3 seconds later, the Apple logo pops up - about a minute later the spin wheel shows up on top of the Apple logo and doesn't spin - after a while the screen flashes black again and this process repeats
My girlfriend thought her iPhone was stolen today, so she did a remote wipe so no one could steal her information off her phone. It ended up that she had just left her iPhone someplace and was able to get it back. Now that she's got the phone back, she's trying to restore it, but it looks like the iPhone was set to back up to iCloud, but never did because of an error (she had no idea she was getting), and it seems that since it was set up to back up to iCloud, the last iTunes backup was from before she got her iPhone 4s (so it's 5 months old). Is there anyway to pull information off of an iPhone after it's been remote wiped? I have a program for pulling information off of digital camera memory cards that have been formatted. Is there something like this for iPhones?
The remote on the earbuds isn't working, I cleaned the jack out and no lint was there, I'm thinking it's a hardware issue? If i turn the plug, then it works sometimes.
Got my iPhone stolen. The person turned it off right away. So far it has been offline. I have been sending messages and locking commends through iCloud.com, but have not chosen the remote wipe option yet.
Is it possible for a stolen iPhone be identified after restore? An iPhone has a series number, I assume iTunes would be able to identify this number somehow. Can anything be done on this front?
My iphone was stolen and i put a lock on it from find my iphone, now that i got it back its says IPHONE IS DISABLED CONNECT TO ITUNES. When i connect it to itunes it says it cant access it because the iphone is locked with a passcode. There is no option to enter a passcode.
I lost my iPhone today while playing soccer. I used iCloud to remotely lock the iPhone and since my device is offline right now. As soon as I put on the lock, I realized that if the person who found my iPhone finds it locked, would they be able to connect to the internet? If they can't, could I remove the remote lock so it can connect to wifi manually and let iCloud track it? Also, my phone is under the AT&T carrier in the USA, and I am currently in China and will be staying there for a few months. I have no cellphone service so iCloud will only be able to track my iPhone via wifi.
Summarize this in bullet points for those who prefer a short explaination:
-Lost iPhone
-Remotely locked it
-Want to remove the remote lock but I do not have possession of the iPhone
-Can an iPhone connect to wifi even with remote lock on?
-No service (American carrier, in China, no international plan)
I need an app that uses the iphone's camera and i can somehow view it on my computer so i can use it as a spy camera, i have an iphone 4 ios 4.0.1 and it's jailbroken
