Sep 4, 2010I have not been able to get the remote app to work ever since upgrading to iTunes 10. It appears that iTunes 10 breaks the app as some other people on the Apple forums are experiencing the same problem. And just to be sure I completely disabled my firewall.

I figured if it was connected via bluetooth instead of wifi it could still work?Is there another type of remote I could use? Another type of network? A robot I could rent for the day?

Apr 9, 2012My AT&T iPhone 4S is set up to be used as Personal Hotspot. So I turn HotSpot on and connect my MacBook Pro to my iPhone's internet just fine.
However, when I open Apple Remote app on the iPhone, it won't connect to iTunes on my MBP. I have set it up at home where both iPhone and MBP are connected to the wireless connection on the Apple Airport. It worked perfectly in that configuration.
I'm in a band that plays weddings and corporate events. During breaks, I use Apple iTunes to DJ tracks. If I can't use Remote, I'm tethered to the stage constantly. This is a big problem. I need the internet connection to buy songs that are requested that I don't already own. And I need to be able to control iTunes remotely for when I'm in the crowd running microphones from one person to another during speeches and such.

My mac is set to never sleep, but when I activate it after long periods of inactivity I notice that my Wi-Fi has to reconnect. I'm assuming the wi-fi drops out while the mac is not in use (though itunes is still playing music), and I cannot connect via the Remote app.

Apr 21, 2012My iphone 4s stopped syncing with itunes a few days ago. It just suddenly stopped responding to my laptop. Or i mean, it charges but it cant be found in my computer nor itunes. I have removed all apple programs (itunes, quick time etc) and reinstalled, but this didn't solve the problem. I have also tried finding my iphone through the device manager but it shows ****. (alot of work related stuff from the same app developer who's icons look the same for the different apps he creates)
I know you could not find this out as of mid last year, but what about now? Is there a history anywhere that will show you what you have paid for? IMO itunes should automatically download all the apps you have purchased whenever you login if they are not there.

I never sync the iPhones to the computer, only the iPod Touch, and I have 3 separate iTunes libraries for each. So today I tried connecting one of the iPhones to the computer, but a message popped up saying that the device was already synced to another library, and I would have to Erase and Sync. I tried looking for the library I made specifically for that device, but when I opened it, the library was exactly the same as the one I use for my iPod! How do I find the original iTunes library I made for the iPhone?

I plugged my iPhone 4 into the USB and launched iTunes, it doesn't recognize there is an iPhone plugged in. I plugged in my iPod, another iPhone and another device into the computer and on multiple ports to ensure it wasn't a hardware issue or a USB issue. All other devices were recognized. I tried plugging in my iPhone on my girlfriends computer and it still wasn't recognized. I believe this is a phone issue completely.
