My phone has somehow switched to a left hand swipe to unlock the phone (same as default unlock slider, execpt for left hand). How can I reset it back to the right hand?

I used to be able to wave my hand over the black screen and I would see if I had any notifications, not now. Several posts have said to check the air wake up box, but air wake up is not an option.

View 6 Replies View Relatedif you have an ecrypted Samsung Galaxy S5 you already know that once you've encrypted it your only option for a screen lock is to enter a secure password. This gets annoying fast. When you want to access your phone quickly on the go it can be difficult to unlock it with any speed. Well I've come up with a way to get past the password lock screen with the same speed as a password and consistently quicker than the finger print scanner unlock.
What I've done and I've included on how to do it yourself instructions below. I've set my password to be one of my hot key options on my Samsung keyboard. I've also shortened my delay for the long press but how to do that isnt included here. (hopefully with screen shots we'll see first time attempt at posting pics here)
Doing this will allow you to quickly get by your lock screen and still have an encrypted device.
**NOTE** This is not a substitute to remember your password. Know it regardless of this being setup or not.
**NOTE** If you have auto space turned on (factory default setting) you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the added space or you will receive an incorrect password error message.
Here's how to do it:
1. Enter the pull down menu and click settings.
2. Tap Language & Input.
3. Now click on the samsung keyboard settings icon.
4. Next if turn on the my hot keys icon.
5. Enter your password under any number to long press to have it typed.
*Don't forget if you have auto space on you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the space or your password will not work.
I just got this yesterday and am very very happy with the phone. However, something has my OCD going and that is a click from the speakers when hitting the power button to lock the phone or to unlock it. It also clicks if there is no lock screen.

First of all, let me begin by saying I know how ridiculous this sounds. Second, yes, I've confirmed that my hand isn't covering the mic...
I've noticed that quite frequently when I hold my phone in my right hand (my dominant), callers complain they "lose me" or can't hear me.
At first I thought it was a result of a poor signal in a specific area of my house, but I've since confirmed its occurrence elsewhere.
Q2: I do to iphone restore , it be hung on itunes and cable .

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot a problem with my 5800 - just today, the touch screen has started being odd. It sometimes works perfectly but then i try and press a button on the left hand side of the screen and it chooses the one at the right-hand side. This obviously makes everything very difficult! Any ideas as to why this might be/how I could repair it? I've tried the touch screen calibration about 10 times, it sorts it out for about a minute.I can send it to Nokia to replace but I could really do without sending my phone away

How do I unlock my phone if I forgot my lock passphrase?

My iphone5 lock/unlock button doesn't work. I checked with the Apple Store and my phone is eligible to be repaired. I just wanted to know when I give it to the Apple Store how long would it take for it to be repaired?

My xoom has been over heating in the lower right hand corner for the entire time I've had it. I was wondering if this is at all a common problem? I've sent it in for repair once already (preparing a second trip) and that was a waste of time cause NOTHING AT ALL seem to change. So now I get the feeling that this $600 piece of electronics is soon to be a paper weight.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try unlocking my screen, it slightly moves to the right but does not unlock. When I hold the power button and the "Slide to power off" appears, I'm able to slide right and power it off. After is starts up, the problem does not occur for a few days and then raises up again. Seems to me like a software issue.

My Turbo used to "wake up" and display the time, my notifications, etc. when I passed my hand over the screen.
For some reason, starting a few days ago, the hand wave no longer has this effect - nothing happens.
To see the time or notifications I have to hit the power button. Not a big deal, but inconvenient.
Is there away to have your phone locked and when you receive incoming calls use the key pad to unlock the call?

this morning when I woke up, I unplugged my active and it wouldn't turn on. The only thing that stayed on was the green light in the upper left hand side of the phone. I am new to android devices and am not sure what to do.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I try to unlock (dragging lock button from left to right) , I am unable to unlock in one go. It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. I have tried the repair operation also. my xperia neo is uptodate and running 2.3.4 os.I also tried to un install apps but I couldn't find any difference. Also once I unlock, those 5 screens, I can scroll inbetween and can touch home button. But when I long press on the screen to add widget/folder I am unable to do it as soon as I unlock phone. It is taking some time to respond.
As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. I also installed andvance task killer app and killing apps frequently that also not making any help.
I've had my phone for a couple of months now and it's been fine. The last software update caused the phone screen to go dark every time I turned on the keyboard lock, which is ok. But now - often, but not always - I can't get the phone to unlock again. I can activate the screen by pressing the Blackberry menu button but it just tells me the phone is locked. Pressing the keyboard lock/unlock button does nothing. I have to either disconnect the battery or connect the phone to a power supply to unlock it. Seems a bit strange to me!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI dropped my phone not too long ago, and ever since the lock/unlock key on the top is very fussy and only works if pressed a certain way. I tried changing the lock button to the convenience key, and it works fine, except that there isn't an option to set it as the unlock key. Is there a way or program to set a key to unlock the phone? Or am I stuck using the dedicated lock button?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI lost my lock icon when I upgraded to 5.0. I've lost a lot more than that over the years. I'm over it. I can lock it with the "A" key, but I can't unlock the phone no matter what key(s) I press. The only way to unlock is to turn it off and then back on. I'm open for suggestions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my Blackberry Bold 9780 last night and the 'lock/unlock' button on the top left doesn't work at all. It feels somewhat sticky - the mute key on the right side makes a clicky sound when pressed down whereas the lock button just presses in without making any contact. I understand that you can set a password but that is rather inconvenient as you have to wait 1 minute for it to lock and every time I want to use the phone I have to type in a code. I can lock the phone by holding down A/* but then there is no way of unlocking it again. the phone came with the holster because that seems to unlock it for me - but this is obviously less than ideal. What can I do? Is there a shortcut to unlocking like on the Curve 8520 (a/* and the call button)?
