May 9, 2012After upgrading to iOS 5.1 one of my iPhone's completely lost his sound. The sound comes back once in a while for a few minutes. I tried everything (hard reset, restore, factory reset, all settings reset etc). On this forum i found a lot users with the same problem after upgrading to iOS 5.1. Unfortunately, there is no solution. The only one "solution" is replacement with a new iPhone - warranty. Unfortunately, my iPhone which I bought over a year ago through T-Mobile had already stopped working (after 11 months ) and I got a new one. Unfortunately, the guarantee of a new (Refurbishment) iPhone was valid only 3 months.
Since I upgraded to iOS 5.1 my iPhone (without sound) is a brick and lies at the desk. Every few days I search the Internet to solve the problem. In my opinion is software problem. I can't understand why Apple don't release a patch for so long.

May 24, 2012I have an iPhone 4S.I treat it like gold as I do all my electronics.I recently updated to iPhone iOS 5.1.1 and a few days later I started experiencing problems on the phone of the iPhone; the call connects and I can hear therecipient but they cannot hear me not can I hear myself. I have tried restoring all my settings, refreshing the phone, and turning it off as well as switching the side button to ringer on (I read this in a forum and did it despite it seeming ridiculous). None of this helps me when I make calls.

Mar 18, 2012Ever since the leatest update (5.1) my Iphone's sound doesnt work? when i play music the volume button has disappeared and the keys on the side of the phone only turns the "ringer" up and down. Ive also tried double clicking the home button and swiping to that volume control but the nozzle disapeares when i touch it. The strangest thing is when i but headphones in my volume control all comes back ? Ive reset my phone, turned it off and on and restored it using itunes. What is wrong with it?

May 10, 2012My iPhone has stopped playing sound, the sound is on and it will ring out loud but when I go to play music you don't get the option to turn the sound on, I had been playing my music earlier on today and it worked but I then upgrade to 5.1.1 and it has now stopped working. Sep 29, 2014I tried to avoid the 4.4.4 update with a vengeance, but VZW forced it despite my saying NO< NO< NO....
A few things changed for the better, but for me, the SMS Notification Sound is gone.
The LED lights up, but no notification sounds period.
I had restarted the phone several times for other reasons, so that ought to be taken care of.
I decided to go through a complete reconfiguration of the phone's default settings for every notification sound thinking that maybe, just maybe they needed to be "pushed again" to "fix it". Kind of like VZW nullifying our Voice Mail and not telling us that it will go away.
None of that made it give me the Chirp Sound when a message came in. Okay, just maybe after a new configuration has been done, it does not take effect until you Restart the Phone??
Couldn't be.But it was............ I did a restart once again AFTER having gone thru the configuration settings, and now the birds are chirping again when I get an SMS.

Accessing archived stuff worked fine, but when I tried to use it for live streaming I got the sound but the screen stayed grey (I was on wifi at the time). Is this the BBC still preventing access (as they used to) or is there another issue here?

Jul 2, 2012I got my Razr Maxx on 6/21 and everything worked great on GB. I took the ICS update Saturday night and thus far, have only found one issue that I can't seem to resolve. Since the update, I no longer have camera shutter sounds. While this may not be a real major issue, I do like to have the feature available especially when taking pictures outdoors in the sunlight when the screen is harder to see. Shutter sound is enabled in the stock camera app.
All phone volumes are set to maximum and as far as I know, all other audio actions are working as they should (ringtones, alarms, media, voice and all system sounds). I've tried the typical power cycle, soft reboot, cache partition wipe, cleared data and cache in the stock camera app. I've tried other 3rd party camera apps and also don't have any shutter sounds in those apps either with shutter sound feature enabled. I've uninstalled any other apps that I can think of that might have contradictory volume settings and started up in Safe Mode and still no camera shutter sounds.
Motorola Droid Razr :: Losing Sound Randomly Since ICS Update?
Jul 10, 2012Both my wife's razr maxx and mine lose sound for media like play music, games and even stock music player at random times when the issue occurs. Only way I get it back is either restart the phone or if I go to menu>system settings>sound>sounds and turn ringtone volume all the way down and back up again. I thought is was just my phone but my wife complained about it to me and showed her what I do to get it back. I already did a FDR after ICS update.

I have tried everything to turn this off. All the "Vibrate" check boxes are cleared and still it vibrates.
It does not vibrate for Hangouts messages only SMS. Yes, I know there is a separate setting for each message type. All of them have Vibrate unchecked.
I even tries restarting the phone, but that did not work.

May 2, 2010for some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this.What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle!You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps!
