I have a 3GS and need to sync contacts to iTunes in order to sync to the 4S. I have an account linked to my husbands and I am trying to figure out which prompt to choose "merge info" or "replace info". Ideally I do not wish to merge my contacts with his, I just wish to have it seperate.

I have loads of people in my contacts who have signed up on the day for newsletters/specials etc. When a customer asks to be removed from our distribution list, I always cut their contact details from the mobile and email fields and paste into their notes. This way, when I send out an update to everyone on the list, the contact doesn't receive it but I still have their details if they need me to contact them personally. I do this cut and paste on my 5s (OS up to date), on Outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1) and iCloud.Â
The problem I've been having lately is that when I sync my iPhone with iTunes (up to date), it somehow puts the more recent contacts' phone number and email back into the fields on both iPhone and Outlook. I have been doing this for a long time and have quite a few regular customers who opted out a while ago. Their fields are empty and their contact details are in their notes.

This has happened twice. I have not downloaded by phone in several months. The first time I got this message I did not understand I and left my phone plug in for 12 hrs and it never did anything. Today, when I got the message I just unplugged it.

I should have 2700 contacts & now only have 249. So I want to try again however under "info" & then "advanced" section; "contacts" are greyed out & I can't check the box. With the latest Ovi Suite version 2.2.0.245, finally some issues are solved but still others persist. I have an IPhone that syncs to my Outlook 2010 via Exchange. The email and calendar syncs automatically. I would like to sync my contacts but currently have that setting turned to "off" because I want to add my Outlook contacts but not lose my contacts on my phone. If I sync the contacts will it just add the new ones and not overwrite the existing contacts on my phone?

No phone numbers, none!, some contacts without emails addresses are just missing, and no home addresses. I thought all that info was on my sim card? I did do a back-up, but it says the file is an IPD and it won't open.

I have downloaded and installed MPT 4.5 as I don't have the original CD, I have then updated it all the way up to 5.31a. Despite the Motorola site (after significant searching) saying that it is supported from 4.6 I have not at any version been able to connect the phone. The most common error was the 'your phone has reported that it cannot sync at this time' but now with the latest version I get the message after a few minutes of 'ready phone memory contents'.

I just bought an iPhone 5c and the dealer manually transferred all of my (gmail) contacts from my Samsung Galaxy. Now the contacts on my iPhone are no longer synced with my gmail account. If I make changes to a contact on my iPhone, that change does not show up on my laptop when I am logged into my gmail account.Â
Can I fix this by turning "on" the "Contacts" button under Settings > mail, contacts, calendars > Gmail > contacts > on?Â
When I attempt this it asks me what I want to do with the existing contacts on my phone. What do I want to do here? If I say leave the contacts on my phone will the contacts merge or will I end up with duplicates?
Somehow some of the contacts on the "Messaging contacts list" have mixed info. For instance the name doesn't match the picture or the name and picture do not match the related cell no. (1) How do I delete the contact entirely? (2) How do I edit the related info? (3) What if for instance my contact changed their cell no. and I need to edit the list or the info on a particular contact?
