I had my torch 9800 almost a year now and I woke up saturday morning to find it completely off and it was on charge all night, I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in. I've also had the battery out for 24 hours and when I put it back in the red light comes on for about 20 seconds (steady not flashing) and the goes off but that's only happened the once other than that I've had no luck. I've left it on charge tried a different battery and it still doesn't work. I've also put by battery in another torch and it works fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy e5 has strange problem with the light sensor. If the 'Light sensor' slider in the settings is set to the minimum or one position above the minimum and I put the phone under bright light (for example outdoors in sunny days), the display goes completely off. If I cover the light sensor with something or put the phone in lower light, it turns on again. I think it's software problem, but not sure. Does anybody else have similar problem or my e5 has some fault?

Okay...So after trying to upgrade on iOS 4 Launch Day this week and failing miserably because I own a 3G, I was finally able to complete the upgrade last night.
Couple of things...First...The Back-Up failed after about an hour.Second...After another hour, my 3G was restored with the new iOS 4.Third...Spent time playing with it, meaning I put apps into folders, since 3G's don't get the cool multi-tasking feature, background wallpaper, and I'm not paying extra for tethering. Anyway...All in all...Things seemed to be working correctly.
I use my iPhone as my alarm clock and have never had a problem that didn't involve operator error, until this morning. My alarm went off. Got up...Did my thing. Eventually I saw another clock and realized that the time on my iPhone was an hour behind!
I checked the settings and my Time/Date is...or was...set up for automatically update, but I have since switched that off to set it up manually, which has seemed to correct the issue.
Couple of things...First...Has anyone experienced something like this? Is this just an isolated incident?Second...Anyone else with a 3G notice a difference in signal quality. Multiple times last night my 3G was "Searching..." for a signal in a place that I've never encountered issues before. I thought this might have contributed to the error, but I wasn't sure.

Recently I got a broken Iphone 4S from a friend and he told me he dropped it, so it doesn't show anything at all. I thought it was a LCD problem so i bought a new lcd screen from amazon and well it some-what works. I hear siri and it vibrates a couple of times (vibrates when i plug it to a charger) but the screen is off , nothing no light or anything, also the light in the back is always on (it did that before). My question is whats the issue now? and is it still fixable? Also i can't connect it to itunes because of password and i don't know how to unlock the phone through the computer. In addition, I already tried holding the home and power button for 10-20 seconds, even holding just the power button...

I had a bit of an accident with my iPhone about 8 weeks ago, some tool spilt their drink down my leg, which got liquid into the docking port of the phone (sensor has been tripped) The backlight died and the phone wouldn't play sound out loud, although if it was rang it was fine (??) I left it switched off and the next day it started to function normally again.couple of weeks later and the backlight has died again, this time for good. i've tried resets etc, and it looks as if it needs a hardware repair, an LCD screen one would assume. The phone has been opened by a 3rd party, and they quoted a £110 repair, so i've decided i'm going to buy the part and fix it myself.
Will replacing the LCD solve the problem, as i have read of occasions where this has not fixed a backlight problem?Any ideas on where I can get the cheapest deal on a replacement 3GS LCD screen?Could this be a problem thats related to something other than LCD?
Got a warranty replacement yesterday at the apple store. Went home and saw that the back and chrome have some light scratching. Already put on my invisible shield so im not going to piss and moan about the scratches, just wanted to know if it was normal.

When I was in Canada, I dropped my iPhone 3GS in a water drain, and it essentially got drenched. After submerging it in rice for seven hours and letting it sit for three weeks, it works absolutely fine - albeit one small problem.
The backlight is completely non-functional. It won't react to anything at all, I've restored, everything.
Now, all that's left is asking you guys for help. HELP! How can I get my backlight to work again? Is it fixable?
I was in the middle of sending a text messege, my phone was fully charged and had lots of life, when it froze up. I couldnt do anything, waited about 5 minuites and still frozen so i did a battery pull. When i popped the battery back in....nothing. No red led what so ever.|Ive tried charging on the wall and the usb on the computer (computer doesnt pick up the device)Ive removed the sim card and put it back.Tried fiddling with the little round battery in the back compartment as i had seen in another post.Plugged the phone into the wall with out the battery....and still absolutly no sign of life

When I installed my BB Desktop Manager and first plugged in my Bold 9700, it asked if I would like to update various features on my phone, to which I accepted. The update froze- I can't remember quite at which stage but I recall it was at the end stages and the stage at which it froze started with JVM. After waiting an hour or so, I disconnected my Blackberry, not knowing what to do. The screen remained black and the red light started blinking.I looked up fixes for the problem and they seemed simple- one used JL_Cmdr to do a full wipe- but I am using Windows 7 and it isn't compatible. I get a brief command prompt screen for a half second before it closes.
The second fix involved using the command prompt to get to the Loader in the AppLoader file- but I ran into another problem- when trying to open Loader.exe, I got a "The Application Loader requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed." Then looking up THAT fix, I downloaded a new OS and redownloaded the Desktop Manager, but am getting the same error.
I am trying to restore my iphone 3G back to original settings after failed update and always receiving error 1015.
