Eseries / Communicators :: E5 Light Sensor Set To Minimum - Display Completely Goes Off
Jan 19, 2011
My e5 has strange problem with the light sensor. If the 'Light sensor' slider in the settings is set to the minimum or one position above the minimum and I put the phone under bright light (for example outdoors in sunny days), the display goes completely off. If I cover the light sensor with something or put the phone in lower light, it turns on again. I think it's software problem, but not sure. Does anybody else have similar problem or my e5 has some fault?
My E7 ambient light sensor glows faint red when I try to connect a fring voice call (and the phone stops responding) or when certain apps (pocket lock) for instance is running. is there any issue with my phone? will the "Glow" burn my proximity sensor? is this an indication of any problem with the application. I only istall applications downloaded from OVI store.
I've just bought a 5230 and I'm really annoyed that I don't have the functionality my E51 had where if it was really dark the screen would dim down. This is an important thing to me since I tend to read at night and I dislike having to go all the way to settings and so on.
Do you know any piece of software that could change screen brightness based on the light sensor readings?I'm just amazed the phone software doesn't do that on its own but hey s60v5 is worse than s60v3...
Could somebody please mod the c901 display driver so that the light sensor is disabled and display brightness can truly be adjusted manually? I know there is a patching alternative, but a modded display driver would be much more convenient.
My nokia crash during video recording when sensor (portrait/landscape) is on. Crash take after random time, usualy 5 to 15 minute. Crash apprear as blank screen and automatic reset of the phone. I use phone as vehicle recorder, so there might me a shakes. Regular turning during recording does not causing the crash.
When I set the sensor setting to off is everyfing correct. I can record 1h movie without any problem.
my nokia e63 is displaying white screen but can not turn on completely, the navigation keys light comes but the rest does not and the phone consistently goes off.
When I want to read a text message, my title is: 'Text mess...' and the rest of my title doesn't appear on my screen anymore. The second 's' is already a little transparent and the following letters are invisible. I also noticed it in other titles. Is this normal or is this an error?
I having the problem after update my X10 to android 2.1. I found that my screen light sensor (which actually works b4 under different environment lighting) and the LED notification light (it works b4 while I got the missed call or sms) do not work after update to android 2.1... One more is, the screen color gradation seem worst that b4...is it normal?
I have a Nokia E5 White.when I try to use the keyboard, the light goes ON even when I have a good light in the room or outside. And that makes it defficult to see the letters on the keybord ( white keyboard + white letters)
today i notice that in the upper right corner of my atrix 2 , in that part where the proximity or light sensor is located , there is a faint red light dot, and no... it is not the notification led.
I have just got E52 and I am wondering: is it possible to turn its display off completely when it is in idle mode? The light is off, but the screensaver (strip with clock) is still running up and down the display... I guess this consumes quite a bit of energy...
My E7 have sometimes an unpleasant feature: during a incoming call, display is darken (stays total black). There's nothing to hit or touch, but phone keeps ringing yet you can't answer to call. This is happening when phone is in screensaving mode. Normally there's time and day in a black display, but when phone starts ringing, display is darken. In a few seconds (maybe ten or so) display returns to normal view and you may answer to call - if one who makes a phone call happens to be still there. I have re-installing the software just yesterday and after that, there have not been that problem so far - but I have receiving only few calls since that software re-installation.
I recently received my E72 and love it! Just a question regarding the display of words in certain screens. Depending on the actual screen displayed , the text seems to fade - which is quite weird. On screens where the icons are displayed and other screens all seems fine. Switching off and rebooting doesn't help - it remains there. Is this normal or is the handset faulty?
Had my E7 since May but this problem has been around for most of that time. The phone can be sat there without anyone touching it when all of a sudden the light on the back (I assume the flash light) comes on of its own accord. It is very bright and I can't switch it off.I took the phone back to the store twice already and the second time the guy in the store could also see it happening but the repairers are failing to find the fault.Sometimes the light stays on and the screen lights up and then fades. Other times (like today) the light comes on and the unlock slide key on the left hand side of phone fails to work. Only unlocking the phone via screen will work.Have checked and no applications are running so not sure what is going wrong. Anyone else had any similar problems because I am baffled.
Im having a problem in my E63, while the phone is in standby mode there should be Notification Light blinking after every 6 or 7 seconds but i cannot see that, but yeah if i recive a miss call, a text or a e-mail it shows me the notification.
on my E63 these would only display when mail was recieved, however on the E72 they remain displaying with a (x) where x is 0 or the number of emails unread.
I just bought a Nokia E6. But immediately after using it for about an hour or so, the display started to flicker on and off. It is continuously doing so and has gotten quite frustrating. I tried to tinker around with all the settings, updated to the latest firmware, but to no avail
I'm nokia e71 user and since i'm learning Korean, i want to be able to read Korean characters instead of question marks. language of my phone is Turkish and i don't want to change it to Korean. I just want to read, that's all. Is there a way i can do it by myself?
My phone only display numbers when someone is calling me.Even contacts I have stored in the phone book.Is this a bug or a setting somwhere?Firmware: PR 1.0 - 013.016N8 FW: 022.014 -- Please separate Artist & Albums!N86 8MP FW: 30.009 -- We need a new FW on this phone!E51 FW: 410.34.001E70 FW: 2.0618.07.10
My phone has just developed the following problem: about every 5 seconds, the display goes blank (the backlight keeps on, if it was on), but I can see the flashing with backlight off. With the power save mode on, the display flashes quickly. The phone does this continuously. I have already tried removing the battery and also backup and factory reset, with no result.
On my Nokia E63, before updating phone firmware to 501, Hindi language was displayed and speech correctly in dictionary. But after updation hindi is not displayed at all. I have reinstalled language pack many times but not working. What is solution?
after update 081.004 torch light doesn't on but the flash light is working.before update i use to switch on by pressing space key, or it has been removed to other way.i tried all way to on but doesn't..
- Breathing light is set to On - Notificat.light is set to 1h and checked both Missed call and New message
By the way, where should notification light be appear on phone? (center button?) When there is message or missed call, I cannot see any light come up on any part of phone.
I went from the e72 to the e7 and I've noticed that when you're in the physical keyboard and press sym you don't get any regional special characters, like vocals with accents. With that to write in catalan is a pain.
My E7-00 is from the US, is it possible to change the display to Italian or better Chinese? Why can I download a Chinese dictionary but the Chinese characters do not show up when I look up a word to translate from English?
